Chapter 11
The sun was awake and so was Mafuyu. She blinked her sleepiness away and wanted to shift her position, but she couldn’t do so because she had something, or someone, pressing firmly against her back with an arm resting over her waist. She grabbed Ena’s hand gently and intertwined their fingers.
She then felt a squeeze in return, and there was shuffling behind Mafuyu.
“Sorry, did I wake you up?”
“No. I woke up like a minute ago.”
“It’s only 8. Ena doesn’t wake up at 8.”
“... I slept early with you yesterday.”
Ena kissed Mafuyu’s hair from the back. And then she pulled her hair strands back and kissed her ear.
“Morning.” Ena muttered into her ear.
Mafuyu hid under the blankets.
Ena chuckled, and turned Mafuyu’s body so that she could take a look at her face. The other girl didn’t resist. She peeled away the blanket covering Mafuyu slightly, and it felt like yesterday when she saw her face pink again.
“Cute.”
Mafuyu buried her face into Ena’s chest. She realised that she likes listening to Ena’s heartbeat. Especially when it’s pumping hard, like now.
“Since when do you get flustered this easily…”
“... when I realised that I like you.”
Ena just wasn’t used to how much Mafuyu was openly saying that she likes her.
“Ena… can you give me a piggyback?”
“Huh? That’s kind of random… I don’t think I have the strength to.”
“But you carried Otori-san that day.”
“Because she’s small enough for me? I’m sure anyone could.”
Mafuyu huffed, and turned away from Ena. Ena poked her back but Mafuyu ignored her. ‘
“Okay okay, I’ll try. If I do drop you, don't blame me for it.”
Mafuyu sat up and Ena had never seen her so gleeful before. Her heart warmed up at the sight of a smiling Mafuyu, and even more so because she was the reason why.
When she felt the pressure on her back, it surprisingly wasn’t too bad. She managed to stand steadily and could walk around with not much of a problem.
“Huh, you’re lighter than I thought…”
“See, I told you that you could do it.”
“You didn’t tell me shit but okay. Get down, let’s go eat breakfast.”
“Carry me out.”
“No way!”
Ena complained as she set down Mafuyu’s legs. No way is she going to let her family see her like that! Especially not Akito.
And the next moment, she could hear his door opening and his footsteps shuffling against the floor.
“You know what, let’s just wait until Akito goes out.”
Mafuyu nodded. Then, she looked surprised.
Thankfully it wasn’t a bug, but rather a little tiny rabbit creature crawling on Ena’s shoulder.
“Hello again. Where’s little me?” Ena reached out to Little Mafuyu to let her sit on her palm.
“Sleeping?” Mafuyu suggested, to which Little Mafuyu nodded.
“Do I really sleep that much…” Ena wondered aloud as she started stroking Little Mafuyu’s head.
Little Mafuyu grabbed her finger and rubbed her cheek against it, which was a gesture that Ena had come to love. She gave her a big kiss.
But then the moment was short lived when Little Mafuyu got picked up by the collar by the other person in the room.
“Why does Ena like kissing tiny me more than big me?”
“Because tiny you is cuter.”
Ena chuckled when Mafuyu’s face turned sour. Ena squeezed Mafuyu’s cheeks.
“You’re showing more emotions now.”
“Am I?”
“Yes.”
“Will I be able to show even more?”
“Who knows? When you do, I’ll be there with you.”
