This is not casual by chappel... something-
Wade’s phone started to ring on the table. Someone was calling him normally. Logan wouldn’t care and would keep sitting on the couch, but something felt different. Maybe it was the adrenaline that still lingered.
Logan got up and walked over to the table, picking up the phone to look at the contact name, ‘teenage warhead something blah blah.’
One of the X-men, but this X-men wasn’t really in Logan’s timeline, but from what he knew, Wade was friends with this one.
“Hello?” Logan answered the phone and immediately was attacked by the voice of a girl.
“Wade they know where you are and they will be there in about...fuck less than 5 minutes? Get out of there; I told you we should have sent in some DNA tests!”
Fuck
What?
Logan ran to the bathroom door, which was not really necessary because the distance was small. “Wade! The x-men know where we are!”
Logan started to pack the bags. a sorrowful feeling nagging at him. He wished they had more time together at this cabin. There were so many things that have yet to be spoken about.
And do..
Wade opened the door a towel hanging around his scarred hips. “What?” Logan might have check out Wade at the same time he gave him the phone
Wade put the phone to his ear and started talking, getting dressed at the same time or trying with one hand it was a bit silly to watch
How would they get away? Would they try the jet skis? Or run on foot, or... or Logan could turn himself in and exuse Wade of all of this.
“Wade were good fighters, but against all of the x-men....“ Logan started raising his voice so Wade could hear him.
"We defeated a god together; these guys are no problem." Wade interrupted him, sounding desperate, and determined his mask was on but the rest of his clothes were normal.
“Do you have a plan?” Logan said while Wade grabbed his hand and ran outside the cabin door in a direction.
“I was a mercenary peanut, of course I do ." Wade gave Logan’s the phone so he could strap on his katanas and a few guns.
Logan pressed the phone to his ear. “Updates?”
"Yeah, I got updates there on your ass airship will land in like... less than two minutes,” the voice on the phone staticed out.
The only way to outrun an aircraft is with another aircraft.
"Wade, unless you got an aircraft shoved up your ass, then we might as well just stop running." Logan said reality was setting into his brain.
They would have to fight their way out; there was no way they could outrun this. Logan would have to see his dead friends faces.
Logan could have prevented this if he just stopped sending goo goo eyes at Wade and not ignored the issue—the real reason they were at the cabin. “Honeybager, I have a plan I planned for this.“
“Why didn’t you let me plan with you? I should have asked more questions about the DNA test? What was that?”
Wade hesitated a beat before replying, and Logan wished right now that he wasn’t wearing a mask so he could see Wade’s expression.
“I didn't want to stress you out anymore; you just started to really eat... and open up to me.”
The forest floor felt harder like spikes, his clothes felt too tight, and Wade was not close enough. “I’m a grown man Wade, you can’t coddle me.”
“I’m not—fuck okay, I’m sorry you.. you just during this trip I saw a version of you that I didn’t know existed....and" Wade’s voice snapped back and forth with the wind.
The thrum of an aircraft had the air out of Logan’s lungs disappearing "it doesn’t mean you can keep secrets from me. This is my problem, honestly, you—you shouldn’t even be here.“
It was a lie. Logan wanted Wade here. Logan wanted to feel the warmth and friendship that Wade brought to his life, but at the same time, Wade was in danger because of Logan.
“Logan! You gave your life for me; remember that? It goes both ways! You kicked down that steel fucking door! together-Logan, we saved the world together It’s me and you..i- love you.”
Wade ranted, and his words picked at Logan’s heart, itching parts of himself that he didn’t know still existed.
Adrenaline ran thick between both of them, and Logan was stunned.
“So please promise me you won’t shove me away. Save us some time because I will crawl back to you every time." Wade breathed out, suddenly crouching and lifting a trap door covered in leaves.
Logan only questioned the trap door for a moment before going in it was surprisingly spacious. “But Wade..” What could Logan say to that because it was true..most of it.
“I..-” Logan was at a loss for words. This conversation was so out of place for the situation getting hunted down by the x-men was not the time.
"Logan, if those words are anything, but I love you, don’t say them because I’m not leaving you; you're not a burden. I want to do this with you." Wade put the lid down on the trapdoor
“This is not casual by chappel... something-" Wade continued
"But..." Logan said startung to crawl down the tunnel.
“No butts—unless it’s the one right in front of my face—anyway, would you leave me?”
“What?”
“Would you leave me if I was in your situation?”
And Logan didn't have to do much thinking because he knew the answer immediately: no, he would never leave Wade. Never leave Wade in a situation alone where he could get hurt or...
“No”
He heard Wade let out a small giggle, a nice sound to light up the dark mood "exactly.”
The tunnel suddenly started to get a little brighter and opened up... there was an aircraft?
Logan stood to his feet, and Wade sighed out something about being disappointed that he couldn’t stare directly at Logan’s bent over ass.
“Wade?”
"Yeah,” Wade said normally without a care in the world in his mask.
"Wade, why is there a whole ass aircraft in this random dirt tunnel?”
