Chapter One: War is Over
Third POV
The war was over. Hermione was safe. Ron was safe. And most importantly Harry James Potter the boy who lived, was safe. Voldemort had been defeated. Draco was not a death eater anymore but his house was not a safe area for him at all.
Hermione, Ron, and Harry had forgiven Draco for his actions, realizing that the only reason he was like this was because of his treacherous father. His mother had after all risked her own life, lying to The Dark Lord to save her son as well as Harry.
The trio one morning had decided to visit the Malfoy’s home to see how their lives have been after the war was done. They gathered by Grimmauld Place and apparated to the dark gates of Malfoy Manor. Harry cast a spell and the gates creaked open slowly. Hermione knocked on the door and slowly the door opened to reveal Kreacher who had been transferred to be the Malfoys house elf after the war. You could hear faint yelling and sobbing from the family room.
“ Kreacher, what is going in there?!” Harry questioned, finally speaking after he and Kreacher had gone into a silent staring contest.
“Master Lucius and Mistress Narcissa have gotten into another fight,” His croaky voice replied, stepping aside so the three teens could walk into the halls of the huge house. The trio followed Kreacher down a long hallway and took a right into the family room where they saw chaos.
Lucius Malfoy, long bleach blonde hair, and all were yelling, at the floor? The trio looked at each other with curiosity until they heard sharp, high pitch sobs from the floor. The three looked down to see Mrs. Malfoy or as she told them to call her Narcissa, on the floor in a ball with her arms around her knees, crying so hard the three teenagers could see her shaking.
Just as they were about to walk in Draco Malfoy bounded down the large, pristine staircase with a dragon patronus swirling around him, his face full of glee but as soon as he saw his mother on the floor, his face mixed with anger at his father and concern for his mom. The patronus disappeared and his father turned around just in time to see Draco drop to his knees and skitter across the floor, pulling his balling mother in close.
Hermione had enough of just watching. She was fuming mad. Ron tried to hold her back but she stormed into the family and shouted,
“ LEAVE HER ALONE YOU BI-” but before she could finish the sentence Harry covered her mouth. Hermione bit his hand making him howl in pain. Harry fell over onto Ron making the blonde on the floor snicker. Hermione threw a Cruciatus Curse at Lucius, and he flew onto the floor in excruciating pain. Draco dropped his mother, running over to his father looking concerned but smirking at the last second stomping on his nose. Ron and Harry cringed hearing the sharp cracking noise that Lucius’s nose made. Hermione just laughed.
They stood there for a minute until Hermione heard small sniffles of Narcissa. She carefully and slowly walked over to the small, afraid woman carful not to spook her kneeled down on the floor with open arms. ‘Mione smiled as Narcissa looked at her with a confused face.
“ It’s ok I’m not gonna hurt you,” Hermione spoke softly and calmly, making sure to keep calm and not scare the still-shaking woman. Narcissa hesitated before crawling into the brunette's arms, knees still tight against her chest.
Hermione looked at the woman with concern on her face. Narcissa was now pale white and looked like she was going to pass out. Draco noticed this and scooted over to his mother and the girl he had bullied for over 6 years, and gave both of them a huge hug. Narcissa sat up, going paler even though Hermione thought she couldn't get any paler and with a small thud, passed out straight ( hehe nope gay) onto Hermione’s lap.
“ MUM!!” Draco screeched like a hippogriff that has seen its babies dead. He dropped to his knees in front of Hermione. Hermione looked almost as pale as Narcissa, picking her up not listening to Draco's protests.
She gently walked up the stairs to a dark room with a large king-sized bed knowing it was Narcissa and Lucius because of the pictures of Draco as a small boy running around in the back fields of Malfoy Manor with a fake quidditch broom that fit just his size. ‘Mione set the small, weak woman onto her side of the bed, tucking her into the fitted white sheets.
One particular picture caught Hermione’s eye though. A large frame about the size of Crookshanks, her cat hung on the wall on Narcissa’s open closet door. A picture of Narcissa, Bellatrix Lestrange, and the third girl Hermione assumed was her other older sister, Andromeda. The three little girls were running through a field, laughing and smiling.
Hermione looked once more at the unconscious Narcissa. She had enough. She fished around in her own pocket and pulled out a small golden time turner and set the tiny dial to the Year 1972. Narcissa April Black's first year of Hogwarts…
