"Peter! Come on we gotta go!"

It was getting dark out, which meant it was way past the time Mr stark and may agreed Peter should be home by; and yet Peter was nowhere to be seen.

He was upstairs in his bedroom, (yes he has a bedroom at the tower, sometimes he fell asleep at his desk doing work and would sleep over with Mays permission.)

He kept calling up to him from the bottom of the stairs, holding his school backpack waiting impatiently.

He finally had enough and marched up the stairs, opening the door only for Peter to be stood in front of his closet with a certain face.

A face of guilt.

"Are you ready?"

He asked, glancing behind him as Peter slowly shimmys into his gaze blocking his view of the closet.

"Yeah! Just looking for my bag"

"...I'm holding your bag."

He said with slight suspicion, turning his head and narrowing his eyes at the boy obviously hiding something from his mentor.

"Oh! That's why I couldn't find it then"

He smiled.

Almost to wide.. While sweating and using his hand to keep the closet door shut behind him.

The small sound of scratching on the door behind him followed by the desperate sounds of a animal trying to escape.

"Whats in the closet?"

"Nothing, why? Im just doing laundry."

"Which one?"

"What do you mean?" Peter struggled to keep his composer, glancing behind him nervously and clearing his throat as the cries of the animal grew louder.

"Is it laundry or nothing? Because laundry doesn't make that sound! Move over."

He ordered reaching to open the closet, Peter grabbing his arm instinctually and then immediately panicking as Mr stark glares at him.

"Uhhh- I just- well it's messy so I-! you can't!"

"Peter B Parker!"

He didn't shout but it was loud enough to have Peter admit defeat and step aside.

Mr stark quickly slammed the door open, startled at first until the little thing came stumbleing out, meowing over and over at his feet.

A small white kitten the size of maybe his palm, climbing ontop of his foot and trying to scale up his leg; her little claws so small it they didn't even hurt.

"What did I tell you about strays?" he looked at Peter, already disappointed looking at the ground.

"Well she's so small and I already washed her in the sink! She's well behaved and-!"

"I don't care, I have people in the building allergic to cats and dogs and other little things! It's a hazard!"

"But shes just a little baby! Look at her lil face!"

He whined picking up the kitten putting her in his shirt as she continued to cry and started pawing at his chin.

"Yes she's very cute.. Super cute- but no."

"Mr stark! Please! She can stay in my room!"

"No! Your not here everyday and I'm not taking care of her."

"Well what are we supposed to do?"

"We'll stop by a shelter on the way"

Peter frowned, "but I'm attached! What if they give her to a bad person!"

"Kid I fund almost all of the animal shelters in new York! I know the background checks they do on people, it's fine."

He left the room as Peter protested behind him, the two went down stairs to find some Avengers loungeing about.

"What's with the arguing?" Natasha quickly took notice of Peters tone, also noticing the cat soon after.

"Mr Starks making me get rid of her!" he complained.

Natasha crossed her arms looking at Tony with her best disappointment face.

"No! He's over dramatic we're bringing her to a shelter."

"Come on stark look at the little guy!" Steve jokingly chimed in, also whineing.

"Your not in this conversation." Tony argued back, everyone began sarcastically protesting knowing how many times Peter has brought home stray animals before.

Dogs, cats, even a baby raccoon at one point that ended up getting him grounded.

"You all do this everytime" Tony threw his hands up opening the door as Peter sadly walked over, knowing there's no other way around it.

"I'll take her" Bucky awkwardly raised his hand silencing the room, even Steve looked a little concerned.

"What?"

"I don't know if I trust that." Tony hesitated to answer.

"What do you mean you don't 'trust that' I had six cats growing up."

Steve backed him up, "if she stays in our room she won't even bother you."

"Okay problem solved!" Peter excidedly but carefully rushed to put the kitten in Bucky's lap; he cautiously pet her back as she rubbed her head against his stomach purring softly.

He couldn't resist a smile, memory's of his cats and sisters coming back to him for the first time in a while.

He always thought of them, but his memory was foggy and unorganized.

This seemed to put everything in order in just a second, her little paws on his lap.

"You know what, I don't care enough to care; come on Pete I don't wanna get yelled at by your hot aunt anymore."

"Kay! Wait what?"

They soon left quickly rushing home, everyone quickly began gushing over the new family member, suggesting names.

Bucky already had a name in mind.

The last time he saw his family they were talking about getting a new cat coincidentally.

The family favorite name was Alpine, he surprised himself by remembering it after all this time.

"Alpine it is then." Steve scratching her chin as she continued to our, slowly drifting off in his lap comfortably.

He knew his sisters would have fallen in love with her, from the moment he saw the kitten crying in Peters hands.

He allowed himself to pet her gently with his left hand, this was the calmest he had been in a while.

He already loved this cat.
