I wonder if in it you called out Tony for genociding the Chitauri.
Cause it seems a bit hypocrytical for him not to think of it when he judged Loki for the Jotnar. After all he didn't exterminate only the soldiers that were killing in New York (94 for your fic (in canon they are 74) humans killed against probably hundreds of Chitauri). No, he nuked their mothership. That was pratically the city from where the soldiers came from. With their hospitals (or are we to think that the Chitauri are monsters who don't care for the injured ones?), the consultants who were not really soldiers, like the scientists who repair and drive the mothership, and probably real civilians (children, mothers and all the other categories whose lives are considered more important than soldiers' lives), and what about the innocent prisoners of the chitauri that were there?
If Loki fucked up big time, so did Tony.
We are told since the beginning of the film that Laufey, and his generals and all the Jotun soldiers who supported approved them, have tried to genocide ALL LIFE on earth a millenia ago, it was a long time ago, but they were the same persons.
They have tried to frozed Midgard. No life survives that.
Laufey had the the same plan that Thanos, just with less ambitions. In fact worse and with less "noble" motivations than Thanos'.
And in the film Laufey declared war to Asgard for the action of someone he called 'a boy' and other 5 people who were cleary not happy to be there. All acting against the will of Asgard governament or its people.
So he didn't declare war to Asgard for some great crime Asgard committed against them, but for some rogues. Cleary he took an excuse. (He, his generals, his soldiers... cause Laufey would have not fought the war alone.)
It's not difficult to think that the Jotnar wanted to do to Asgard what they had tried to do to Midgard.
Tony killed Thanos and genocided all his people, some of them children captured and indottrinated through torture. Some of them probably tortured with the mind stone and with their own thoughts twisted for centuries. Some of them children and mothers, cause I am sure that even the soldiers of Thanos didn't just appear from thin air but were born and grew up before they became soldiers.
So who is the one that should redeem himself between him and Loki?
And for what crime?
And what action instead is 'heroic'?
Even if in your fic you twisted the canon and made that all the crimes of the Jotnar, horrible and unforgivable crimes, as you called that of Loki, are inventions of the Aesir, this is still all that Loki knew, from hystory books and officially teached to every child of Asgard.
What Tony got excused cause Thanos and his people are "truely evil", while Loki not, cause, despite the informations he had, that Tony didn't have - not in such details and from such official fonts - the Jotnar are 'to be seen as good'?
