Beauxbaton's Academy of Magic

Fleur flew into the compartment, her black heels clicking all the way up to where I was sitting staring off towards the distance, my tears had dried on leaving tracks through my makeup.

"Violetta" she says but my brain doesn't register it, as I keep replaying the words he said. Did he mean that I wasn't good enough, was it because I didn't spend enough time with him, was it because, I didn't write to him enough? I kept questioning myself, over and over again.

"Violetta" Fleur says again shaking my shoulder. My head jerks back and my glassy eyes meet her crystal blue ones.

"What happened" she asks me, and I try to order the events that had jumbled in my mind.

"Um well, Gabrielle and I got to Louis but he" I furrowed my brows "he was kissing Emmie" I say almost in disbelief as a tear drips onto my cheek once more. Fleur takes a seat beside me her hands coming to rest on my shoulder. I wipe the tear away quickly and Celeste takes her place on her knees in front of me.

"He's not worth it Vi" she says patting my knee comfortingly as Fleur drapes her arm over my shoulders and pulls me closer to her side.

"You'll find someone better" Fleur says and I sniffle nodding.

"I mean I knew it wasn't going to last" I say wiping my tears away once more. "I just thought it would be easier."

"You were ready for Louis to break up with you" Celeste says pondering her next words carefully, "but you weren't ready for Emmie" she asks slowly, and I nod in affirmation as her words bring up the image of Louis pushing Emmie against the wall again.

"I mean you know how Louis is, he wants the perfect girlfriend and if I don't win the Triwizard tournament I'll be expelled, clearly that's not the perfect girlfriend" I say sadly.

"No" Fleur says turning to face me and tilting my chin up with her hand. "You are perfect, you are a part of the best dancing duo in the world, you are a skilled legilemence and metamorphous, and a very good gymnast, you are perfect, boys are just stupid and impulsive." she finishes.

"Yeah, and you can find someone better than Louis, I mean have you seen the British" Celeste says, a light laugh sprinkled into her voice.

"Have you heard their accents" Fleur asks and we all laugh together.

"Just remember you are not the problem, and you don't need to change" Fleur says.

"Ok" I answer, attempting to force myself to believe their words.

"We should be getting to school in a little, so let's change" Fleur says and leaves the compartment to go get Gabrielle. I open my bag and pull out my makeup and our school robes. I take out a pair of black shorts and quickly pull on the pale blue dress and short cape that wraps around my shoulders. I turn back around at the same time Celeste does and she pulls out a mirror from her bag, setting it on her seat, we share my own seat as we do our makeup. I quickly applied the red lipstick, retouching on my foundation from before and adding a little contour before focusing on drawing the wing of my eyeliner. I finish with that and looked around until I spotted my light pink eyeshadow in Celeste's hand.

"Really Celeste" I ask.

"I don't want to look for it" she defends, and I roll my eyes as she finishes up. I quickly grab it applying sparkles on my lid and outlining it with the light pink eyeshadow. As I finished my makeup Fleur and Gabrielle entered. Gabrielle rushed over to me and gives me a tight hug.

"Thank you" I say to her and pat the seat next to me, she sits down, and I have her turn toward me. Fleur does her own makeup as I start on Gabrielle's. I apply a light pink lip gloss to her puckered lips.

"Close your eyes" I tell her, and her eyelids flutter shut, I apply some light sparkles to her eyelids, before setting a light blush to her cheeks. I tap the excess of the brush off before setting it back into my bag.

"Okay everybody ready?" Fleur asks her eyes flitting around the small compartment.

"Pins" I say, and Celeste, Fleur and I quickly turn to our bags. Celeste finishes shuffling through her bag first, pulling out a gleaming purple butterfly pin and attaching it to the left side of her cape. I pull out my own, a moon, half white half black for my house Ombrelune and pin it to my cape. Fleur does the same with her pin which is identical to mine.

"What about my pin" Gabrielle asks curiousness sparking in her clear eyes.

"You'll get yours right after you get sorted" I tell her. We walk out onto the castle grounds as the carriages pull to a stop, I point to the line of eleven-year old's walking on a separate smaller walkway.

"Gabs go walk with them" I tell her, and she scurries over to catch up with them. The eleven-year old's get a quick tour of the outside grounds before we eat as the older students go to the dining hall.

"So how is this year going to work?" Celeste muses.

"What do you mean" I ask turning my head towards her as we climb the first set of stairs.

"Like the Triwizard tournament" She continues.

"I think their changing some of the rules" Fleur says from in front of us.

"What rules?" I ask her as we continue up the second flight of stairs the sound of many pairs of heels clicking as we walked up.

"Well, the reason there hasn't been one for hundreds of years was because there were so many deaths, so probably a few safety measures" Fleur states, "Madame Maxime will explain" Fleur says signaling the end of the conversation as we finish up the second flight of stairs and reach the ballroom. Celeste and I looked at each other as she twirled around me curtseying as the other students pass by us to get into the dining hall. I curtsey back and we both laugh.

"How much dance do you think she'll make us do this year?" I ask her.

"Oh, she is going to make our lives so hard" Celeste says and we both laugh again. Celeste and I have been dancing together since first year, and dance just clicked for the both of us. Of course, we worked twice as much as the other girls in dance and gymnastics, because once Madame Maxime saw how well we worked together she personally taught us and had us perform in the name of the school. We walked into the dining hall and sat at one of the many circular tables strewn around the large room. The talking grew louder as more and more kids walked into the room sitting with their friends. After a few minutes the eleven-year old's arrived and Madame Maxime pulled them into the adjacent room at the other end of the dining hall. That was where they would be placed into one of the three houses Bellefeuille, Ombrelune, or Papillonlisse.

"What house do you think Gabrielle will get into?" I ask

"Papillonlisse or Bellefeuille" Fleur says. Papillonlisse was the house Celeste had been placed into. They were the artists, the social butterflies of our school. Most of the time they would befriend a couple people and stay with them for the entirety of their school years, though they will have conversations with anyone. There are two sides to my house, Ombrelune, ambitiousness and logic. Fleur was placed into Ombrelune for her ambition and her cold exterior. I was the other side of the same coin, I was put into Ombrelune for my use of Logic, and untrusting of new people, but there are times where I could be seen as ambitious, most of them being within my dancing and schooling. Bellefeuille, is the house I believe Gabrielle will get into, Bellefeuille admire bravery and loyalty, though Gabrielle might not be seen as brave, she is only eleven and is still very loyal to her friends and family.

"I think Bellefeuille" I tell them and Celest nods her agreement. The door to the other room opens and a stream of small students run through a new gleaming pin attached to each of their cloaks. Gabrielle rushes over to our table and on the left side of her cape glinting in the dim lights of the dining hall is a pin in the shape of a green leaf. Madame Maxime stood at the end of the dining hall and raised her wand arcing left to right sparks of silver fluttered above us. They landed on the table and transformed into plates of food. Glasses of water magically appeared in front of us and the chatter in the room grew once more as Madame Maxime strode across the room to sit with the rest of the professors.

"I was right" I taunt Fleur, who smiles and shakes her head at me as she reaches for a plate.

"I said it as well" she corrects.

"No, you said either" I correct her" I said specifically said Bellefeuille."

"What?" Gabrielle asks.

"They were trying to guess which house you would get into" Celeste explains to her. We continued conversation and Marina and Chloe joined in as well. They were both in seventh year and shared a room with Fleur. As we all finished eating and the voices in the room began to quiet Madame Maxime walked back up to the front of the room gaining the attention of all the students. She raised her hand and all the voices in the room lowered until silence ensued.

"Good evening students, I would like to remind you all that wearing your uniform is mandatory every day of the week excluding Sunday. Visiting the village is at the end of every week with adult permission. Please note that everyone is taking their mandatory classes Monday through Friday, dance Wednesday evenings and sports the entire day Saturday" The speech was well practiced and very familiar to most of the students, but the next part was where it differentiated from past years.

"Now as many of you may know, the Triwizard tournament is being held this year." She pauses for dramatics before speaking again. "The tournament will be held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, since there have been fatalities in past tournaments, a new rule has been passed" Madame Maxime says pausing once more as people turn to whisper to their friends. "Only students above the age of seventeen may place their names into the tournament to be chosen" Madame Maxime says, not pausing even as students start to talk, they quickly silence themselves. "So could all the seventh years come stand behind me?" Madame Maxime asks, the scrape of chairs is heard as the older students walk to the open space behind Madame Maxim, the boys standing a row the girls standing in front of them. Madame Maxime counted them out, seventeen boys and nineteen girls. In the back of my mind, I question if I would be allowed to put my name into the drawing, but I focus my attention back to Madame Maxime in time to hear her next request.

"Now Celeste Beaumont please stand here" Madame Maxime calls out motioning towards her left side. Celeste beams as she hops up from her chair her heels clicking quickly in time with her fast steps as she stands slightly behind Madame Maxime.

"And Violetta Dandenua" a smile makes its way onto my face as I push my chair back standing up and confidently walking towards the front of the hall, the tips of my hair turn into a bright yellow to compliment my mood. As I reach Celeste, Madame Maxime turns away from the hall and faces us her voice lowering to a whisper.

"Girls, I need to know if I should also take your friend Emmie on this trip" Madame Maxime asks us and my hair changes back to normal as my mood shifts again, before I can answer though Celeste asks.

"How long will we get to practice before our performance",

"Two weeks, and you will probably be doing duets with some Durmstrang students" Madame Maxime answers.

"Emmie won't be able to learn as fast as us, since we have more experience than her with deadlines" Celeste answers quickly as I breathe deeply before nodding my acceptability. Madame Maxime turns back around and calculates all the students with a long hard look before saying.

"Lastly, I will be bringing Gabrielle Delacour" Gabrielle slowly stands from her seat, her eyes flitting around the room as if looking for a mistake before she rushes to her sister who rests her hands on Gabrielle's shoulders.

"Ok" Madame Maxime starts, "Everyone dismissed with exception of the students behind me" she says and turns to face us as the rest of the students walk in groups down the large hallways to their rooms.

"Now, all of you are expected to be working your hardest in dance for the next two weeks, the Durmstrang students will be arriving in two weeks, after that you will have only one weeks to practice all of your dances until we depart for Hogwarts, until then please attend your classes as you normally would" she looks at us all staying silent for a second before saying "please note that you will still be taking classes while at Hogwarts, dismissed" she waves her hand and we all disperse, Celeste grabs my arm as we walk and a small laugh escapes her lips

"We get to dance with Durmstrang boys" she giggles into my ear, and I roll my eyes laughing with her, I elbow her to get her to quiet as we go to pass Madame Maxime

"Shh" I shush her as we walk past Madame Maxime, her hand comes out in front of the two of us making us stop and turn to face her.

"Come to my office at ten tonight bring the Delacour sister's as well" Madame Maxime says.

"Ok Thank you Madame" I say and Celeste bobs her head as we walk out of the hall. Gabrielle and Fleur catch up to us and we all walk towards the girls' dorms together.

"Madame Maxime wants all of us in her office at ten tonight" I tell Fleur and Gabrielle on our trek through the maze of hallways.

"Did she say why?" Fleur asks one of her arms still lingering over her younger sisters' shoulders.

"No, but it probably has something to do with why she chose to bring Gabrielle on the trip" I say, Celeste and I didn't start traveling for performances until last year, so for Madame Maxime to bring a first year on this trip meant she must have an idea.

"And she probably wants to talk about dances" Celeste says thoughtfully as we reach the dorms, there was a fork in the path, in between there was a sign that read 'Dorm Room's', the girls were on the left and the boys were on the right. Within each fork there were three more paths one for each house. Fleur pointed out the hallway to Bellefeuille for Gabrielle and explained to her that there were three names on each door to show which students slept in which rooms. We watched as Gabrielle disappeared down the first winding hallway before turning to our own hallway's.

"See you in a bit" I call to Celeste as she goes down her hallway and Fleur and I continue on our trek through our own hallway. My room came first, and I walked into it, like in past years I share the dorm room with two other girls Clarissa and Simona. Mostly we just kept to ourselves, we each had our own friends and our own lives. They had both already changed into their pajama's, Simona had turned off her lamp and had turned to face her closet, her bed was the farthest to the right. Clarissa's lamp was still on, and she was reading in her bed which was placed in between my own and Simona's. I walked over to my bag and took out my pajama's. I went into the bathroom and took a quick shower, making sure not to wash my hair because I had done that the night before. I got out pulling on my pajama's and brushing my teeth, I made sure to take off my makeup and I pulled my hair into a messy bun. I walked back into the main room slipping into my bed and turning on my lamp, I grabbed a book and started reading, soon enough Clarissa turned off her lamp and I did as well and out of curtesy towards the two of them. I checked the time and it read 9:30. I sat on my bed until 9:45. Slowly, I got up from the bed pulling on a pair of shoes and tiptoeing across the room, I cracked the door open slipping out into the hallway. I waited a couple minutes until Fleur started coming down the hall, she was wearing her own pajamas and her hair was unbound, together we both quietly made our way out to the main hall.
