Deals, Wii and Slytherins
Harry's POV
It was finally time. The first day of the camp cup. The competition was going to run for the next seven weeks and on the last day, there would be a dance and the winner would be called.
You gain points in the competition quite easily.
Winner got two hundred points.
Second got one hundred and fifty points.
Third got a hundred points.
Then the fourth earned fifty points.
With this point system, you could lose points by breaking rules, even outside the competition time.
There were four boards that counted the points and each camp counselor had a remote they could add and remove points with.
It was a brutal time as people did their absolute best to compete.
Gryffindors won the cup for the past years I've been around. Probably because we won all the football parts of the competition.
I mean Ron and I on the same team? We always had the cup in the bag and this time would be no exceptions.
The first game was going to be a game of capture the flag. But the age group playing would be the eleven and twelve year old.
After cheering the younger ones, they were made to go and arrange their strategies.
The rest of us were made to go mingle in the general common room which was actually a huge house in the middle of the camp that had everything a teen would want.
We unfortunately all had to wait for Hermione to get all her books from cabin before we headed out so all the good spots were full.
As I walked, I realized that the Slytherin trio, and Draco had a full space to themselves. The two long couches beside them were empty and they were with the Wii machine. No one was around them.
There was normal Slytherin prejudice in the camp but many other Slytherins had friends.
They particularly were isolated for another reason.
I sighed knowing the reason had a lot to do with us.
Not entirely but we contributed majorly.
I mean, the Slytherins were very mean when they didn't know you and we kind of had a brawl when we newly arrived.
So we avoided each other.
Unfortunately, we became popular so people started hating who we hated, even without us asking.
Plus Slytherins are known for their habit of cheating during games and making the games not fun anymore so loads of people hated them for that.
Then the entire Blaise's family scandal came out and for the past two years, rumors have been circulating saying that you would get an STD if you touched him and based on association his friends.
Deciding that things needed to change, I went over to them and my friends followed me.
"Why are we heading over to the snakes?" Ron asked and I internally begged the twins to forgive me.
"Well Astrid and Aquila have something they need to get off their minds don't they?
The twins spluttered and glared at me while I smiled innocently at them.
" Plus, this childish rivalry is really stupid. They seem like they would be fun to hang out with. I mean Draco is really cool now." I said and everyone looked at me suspiciously while I turned to them, trying to look angelic.
They looked at each other then Luna nodded. "It sounds really good Harry. I'm so proud of you being mature and taking the lead."
I blushed a bit and we went to them.
Blaise and Theo were the ones currently using the machine while the other two were laughing and cheering them on.
Their obvious care for each other was making me feel a bit jealous.
I mean why did they get to receive full smiles from Draco while I can't even get him to call me by my first name all the time.
"Hello" I said, smiling brightly and sitting down right beside Draco before anyone else could take the seat.
It was funny seeing everyone trying to find a way to sit down.
Astrid was obviously trying to be as far away from Pansy as possible and the way the girl glared at her it was obvious the feeling was mutual.
Meanwhile Aquila was trying to sit in a way that Blaise would have to be beside him.
Why didn't I notice any of this? When was all this happening.
"What are you guys doing here?" Pansy asked, looking at everyone in annoyance which turned to disgust whenever she stared at Astrid.
What did my girl do?
"Potter? What's going on?"
"Harry, that's my name Draco. I won't answer your question until you call me my name."
He rolled his eyes but the small smile on his mouth showed he was amused, not annoyed.
When did I start reading him so thoroughly.
When did I even start understanding him?
"Okay Harry, why are you guys sitting here. Don't you have plans for the competitions and the rest." He said and I grinned at him.
Hearing him say my name made me so happy.
Weird.
I mean it's my name.
Everyone says it.
Maybe it was because I still felt guilty about the childhood stuff and was glad of a proof of our friendship.
"Do you guys want to use the Wii machine?" Blaise cut in before I could even start explaining the reason I was there.
He handed the microphone over to Hermione and sat down beside Aquila, he smiled at him and I watched my brother's brain shut down.
He stared blushing so hard and was stammering at everything Blaise was saying to him.
"Sure. Ron come on let's do a duet." Hermione said, pulling him up and I turned as I heard Pansy gasp in excitement.
"Let's make it more fun for us." She said excitedly everyone turned to her in anticipation.
"We can make it a competition. Choose either sing or dance. Slytherins versus Gryffindors and the winners get to ask one person each from the losers for a favor." Pansy said.
"Like we have one favour each?" Hermione asked and Theo shook his head "nahh, that's a bit much. Just that you can pick anyone you want and ask for the favor. Deal?"
Everyone looked at their friend group and nodded.
I sighed.
This was going to be bad.
