It was Erin’s idea to go watch the stars over the Chicago river, since you both couldn’t sleep and were still full of energy.
And honestly you were shocked at how pretty the sky looked even though it was really noisy from the nearby highway. “The sky is magical.” You said under your breath in awe. “Yes it is, I used to love stargazing from here. Hank used to take me here right after I started living with him and we would sometimes spend hours stargazing while talking about random stuff and our problems. I kinda miss it, you know?” Erin sighed sadly. You just reached out and grabbed her hand squeezing it lightly to say that you understand and that you are here for her.
Erin looked at your face and seeing the amount of joy on your face made her smile even wider. “We should do this more often. The sky is beautiful today.” She said looking back up the sky. “Not as beautiful as you.” You replied, smiling back at her. She just laughed and rested her head on your shoulder. “Stop being so cheesy.” Erin replied in a joking manner. “I could stay here forever.” Erin added mumbling sleepily into your shoulder. “Me too.” You whispered. “I love you. You know that right?” “Of course I do. And I love you even more Eri.” You smiled at her, Erin pulled you in for a small kiss. You kissed her back while holding her close to your chest. This was perfect.
You pressed a small kiss to her cheek while gently tracing figures into her back. The views were truly magical. And you knew that you would remember this for a really long time. You felt yourself getting more and more sleepy.
“C’mon let’s get you home, since I can feel you falling asleep on me.” Erin laughed at you while holding out a hand to guide you down the steps that lead up to where you two were standing. “Thank you for bringing me here.” You smiled at her. Slowly going down the steps hand in hand you knew this was your second favourite place. Since your first favourite place was inside Erin’s arms. As cliche at it might sound, her hugs were the best hugs ever.
