Gwen leaned on the cold brick wall in an alleyway. She just finished her nightly patrolling, and she's exhausted.
Gwen had just finished her finals for college and she was exhausted. Balancing studies, fulfilling her duties as spider woman and not getting enough sleep was just too tiring for her.
Gwen had not gotten a full night's sleep for a week. It took a toll on her as her moves were a bit sluggish but still a bit sharp. She also got bad eye bags under her eyes.
Wanting a break, she activated the portal to earth-1610. She jumped in and landed in Brooklyn.
She swung to Miles’ apartment, hoping that he was there and not anywhere else. She reached his room and peeked through the window. Miles was there, and he was doodling while having his headphones on.
She slowly lifted the window, getting Miles’ attention from his spider-sense. He turned around and removed his headphones, looking at Gwen. His face lightened up as he smiled.
“Hey, Gwen! What brings you here?” Miles asked as he stood up from his swivel chair. Gwen didn't say anything as she embraced him, seeking comfort.
It wasn't the first time Gwen acted like this. He hugged her back, resting his chin on her head. Gwen closed her eyes, listening to Miles’ heartbeat.
“Tough week?” Miles asked, running a hand through Gwen's hair. “yeah..” Gwen mumbled. “Come on, let's go to bed.”
Miles brought her to bed, lying down first as she lay on top of him. Gwen nestled beside him, resting her head on his chest, arms circling his stomach. Miles slid an arm under her neck, resting his hand on her shoulder.
He felt Gwen relax and smiled. “Get some sleep. I’ll be here when you wake up.” Miles said as he kissed Gwen’s forehead. “Okay..thank you, Miles. You don't know how much I needed this.” Gwen muttered as she started to drift to sleep. “Of course, Gwen.”
Miles watched as she drifted off to sleep. It was getting late, so he decided to fall asleep as well.
