Intro

All Charles Xavier ever wanted was unity and peace between mutants and humans. He wanted a world where mutants could feel safe but he was never willing to make the hard decisions. He never once wanted a war or an uprising against the humans. He just wanted equality. He never truly understood the other side of the conversation involving an uprising because he believed things could be changed through peaceful means of protesting and discussion. He didn’t understand the reason for violence and hatred until he met a man who changed his perspective. That man helped him see the reasoning for violence and hatred towards man kind, however Charles still couldn’t grasp why this man refused to let go of his anger and constant need for revenge no matter how much it broke him.
He cared for this man in ways he’d never cared for anyone. He strived to help him let go, but in the end it wasn’t enough.
Erik Lehnshderr was a powerful mutant. Not only was he powerful, but he also had the ability to make people believe in his cause and see his way of mutant liberation as the only way. He was fueled by his anger, and his trauma, and his need for vengeance caused by mankind. He saw humans as monsters who destroy that which they do not understand. In his mind the only way to fix this is to prove that humans are below mutants and that they belong in submissive roles to mutants. He saw humans as a cancer that spreads hate, fear, and destruction.
For most of his life he was persecuted by humans. He lost his parents, his wife, his daughter, and many other people he held dear. He thought he was doing what was necessary, but some part of him wonders if things could be different. That’s when he met a man who showed him another way. He started to believe that he didn’t have to fight fire with fire, that change could happen through discussion and understanding. However, his new hope didn’t last long and he went back to fighting hate with hate and anger. Even though Erik dropped these new ideas he couldn’t drop the man who gave them to him. Erik constantly thought about him and he constantly thought about Erik.
