Chapter 1

    Peter should’ve just stayed home.

That wouldn’t have fixed it, but he could dream.

He had begged Tony and Pepper to let him stay home and avoid the nightmare that was his school's field trips.

This year Midtown had a “surprise field trip” for the decathlon team, and here Peter was, on the bus listening to Ned geeking out about the Avengers.

Peter didn’t fully get why Ned was so excited about it, he’d brought him over, multiple times, to stark tower.

Ned had met the Avengers.

But according to Ned it was a “Totally different experience” going on a tour there.

And, Honestly? Peter couldn’t disagree.

Once they arrived Mr Harrington told everyone to “stick together” and gave a short speech about how this trip was a great opportunity for everyone.

The tour guide greeted them at the doors and started handing out badges, after explaining that SI does not reprint badges.

Mr Harrington asked Peter to stay back for a moment, Peter had a feeling how this was gonna go.

    And true to Peter’s assumption:

“Mr Parker, I’m aware of a rumour going around school,” and here it comes, “but I need you not to mention your fake “internship” it could ruin your chances at a good college or job, and potentially your classmates' future as well.”

And there it was. Pepper and Tony signed all the stuff to prove it, and even were listed as his legal guardians now, but if Mr Harrington didn’t want to believe it, he wasn’t going to.

Sighing in defeat, and a bit of annoyance, Peter nodded his head and agreed not to mention it.

He fallowed his teacher into the building that he happened to walk out of two hours ago.

Peter really should’ve stayed home

Obviously, due to company policy, SI didn’t reprint badges, Peter and friends included.

“Alright students of Midtown!” Their guide greeted them.

When I give you your badge, you’ll walk through FRIDAY’s scanner and your name, as well as rank here will be stated. Y’all’s badges should just be ranked as Visitor. Any questions?” The tour guide finished their speech and true to their words, held everyone’s badges.

    Well, almost everyone’s badges.

Peter’s was attached to his lanyard, and Ned’s was holding his in hand, same with MJ.

By the time the guide gave a visitors badge to Flash, most had caught onto the trio who weren’t called up.

Oops!

“Hey! Those guys get a badge” Flash stated, seeming smug for reasons unclear.

To their credit, the guide did look quite perplexed. “I’m..not sure?” The guide anxiously looked at the three.

“I’m so sorry about this, there must have been a printing problem or something….” The guide trailed off, seeing MJ’s card being held up, as well as Ned’s.

“…Ah. I take it you three have been here then?” They asked, although it was clear they didn’t need an answer.

“Right then, on with the tour!” The guide exclaimed, leading them over to the scanners.

One by one, everyone went through. Ned and MJ had gotten a few questioning looks, seeing as their rank was for friends & family visitors of avengers and Starks.

Peter had no such luck. It had to be a fact of the universe by now, Bad luck was stained on him or something.

When Peter went through, it announced his rank. His rank happened to be higher but thankfully FRIDAY “bleeped” it out.

Also meaning that Tony and/or Pepper knew full and well about this field trip.

Peter avoided the questioning looks like his life depended on it.

He really hoped this trip would go smoothly from here…
