Tommy IV

Tommy wasn't at home when Captain Marvel showed up, and he blamed Kamala entirely. He'd somehow managed to get roped into some school service gig. Tommy didn't get home until late in the afternoon, arriving to an absolutely demolished house. A massive gaping hole was in the ceiling, and for some reason, Nick Fury was in the house, talking to Aamir, Muneeba, and Yusuf

"So... what did I miss?" Tommy said slowly.

Aamir spun around, starting when he spotted Tommy. "Bruno, you scared-" he took a breath. "Where have you been?"

"Doing something I didn't want to do with people I hate," Tommy sighed. When the Khans looked confused, he sighed again. "School volunteer thing. What happened and why is Nick Fury in our very destroyed house?"

"Kamala has her powers entangled with Captain Marvel and Melissa Romanoff-"

"Monica Rambeau," Nick Fury corrected.

"Monica Rambeau, Captain Marvel, and Kamala switch places when they use their powers at the same time," Aamir explained.

"Trust Kamala to get herself into another mess," Tommy muttered, then frowned. "Who's Monica Rambeau?" The name sounded awfully familiar, but he couldn't figure out why.

"She's one of our top S.A.B.E.R. agents, now if you'll excuse me," Nick Fury said, making his way to the door, "I have to get back up to the space station to deal with-"

"Nicholas, you are not going anywhere without us! That is my daughter, and if you think-"

Tommy tuned out Muneeba's arguments, his eyes locking on a see-through screen. An IPad was on the chair, showing all of the details the government had on Kamala and the rest of the Khans.

"Fine!" Fury relented, snapping Tommy from his daze. Tommy slipped the iPad quietly into his bag while the agent was distracted. "I'll take you up to the space station."

"Sounds fun," Tommy turned back around, a smile plastered on his face.

Fury brought the Khans and Tommy to a small, round white room with windows around the side. "Flashy," Tommy commented. "Space elevator?"

"Sure," Fury sighed.

Tommy entered and took one of the many seats, pulling the clear pad from his bag and stuffing it up his sweater. The Khans spread out around the donut, clipping their seatbelts and preparing for take off.

"Launching in three... two... one-"

The craft launched into the air, and Tommy groaned, straining against his seatbelt. "I'm never flying," he groaned.

Yusuf was having the same thought process. He was sweating profusely and muttering prayers under his breath. Aamir was recording, and Muneeba was relentlessly questioning Fury about Captain Marvel's past missions and the dangerous dangerousness of them. Fury looked exhausted.

Tommy flicked open the pad, clicking onto his profile. Bruno Carrelli had no sort of noted powers. The government had no idea he was Speed. They didn't know anything. "Interesting," he muttered.

Tommy spent the time on the space elevator searching through the medical miracles he suspected of being Billy. Charlie Spring (16, London), William Kaplan (14, Eastview New Jersey), Joe Locke (16, Isle of Man), and Tobias Ragg (14, London) were his mostly likely options. Tommy really hoped Billy was still younger than him physically.

"Kamala, you are not going on any space adventures!" Tommy looked over to see Muneeba talking to Kamala on a video call through yet another see-through phone. Why anyone would want a see-through phone is beyond Tommy entirely. "Nicholas has told me how dangerous they can be."

"It's just Fury, god," Kamala chuckled awkwardly. "Wait, where are you guys? Where's Abbu?"

Tommy turned to look at Yusuf, who was strapped unnecessary tight to his seat and was clinging on for dear life. "Hell, beta. This man has taken us to hell," Yusuf said in Urdu (thank you, Bruno's minor fluencies!)

"Hell? So does that mean I'm the devil?" Fury turned the clear phone around so he could be seen.

"Really, Fury?" Captain Marvel's voice sounded resigned through the screen.

"They insisted, and your dad is not adjusting very well to space travel," Fury said.

"Why would he? At least none of us are puking," Tommy snorted, then frowned. "Damn, I just jinxed us."

"What are you doing back there?" Fury turned round, and Tommy stowed the Ipad out of his line of sight quickly.

"Questioning the concepts of existence and pondering human relevance given the size of the universe in comparison with our small and irrelevant planet, while also wondering about the different kinds of interstellar racisms, sexisms, and how their societies operate. Do you think other species go through depression and self hate as commonly as we do?"

"I'm not even going to bother with that," Fury sighed after a moment while Kamala tried (and failed) to hide her laughter.

"Hey babe, so I'm in this crazy space elevator and we're going up- or maybe we're going down," Aamir looked away from his phone and over at Fury. "Uh... are there directions in space?"

"Yes there are, but no filming," Fury chastised.

The elevator-space thingy reached the space station, and the four followed Fury inside. "Fury, is everything okay?" Captain Marvel asked

"We've had another surge. Reports are coming in across the network. It seems everyone's been affected," Fury said.

"Wait-what happened? I wasn't paying attention," Tommy whispered to Aamir, who shrugged.

"Well, we need to stop her from making another one, and we can't risk intergalactic body swapping in the meantime," a familiar voice said

"Who's that?" Tommy asked

"Monica. Didn't we tell you?" Aamir frowned

"What are her powers?" Tommy chewed his tongue, trying to remember where he'd heard her voice before.

"Seeing light spectrums or something, I don't know. She walked through a witch hex and now has light based powers," Aamir shrugged.

Witch hex?!

Westview.

Wanda.

Shit.

"Mrs. Khan, I'm sorry, but your daughter will have to stay aboard my ship until we can get to the bottom of this," Captain Marvel said as they sat down in Fury's office.

"Oh, no no no no no. You will let her go!" Muneeba ordered. Tommy chuckled, ignoring the sick feeling in his stomach.

"Mrs. Khan, it's not that simple," Monica from Westview tried, "We need Kamala."

"Ammi, we found Nani's other bangle and there's this weirdly beautiful but kind of terrifying woman using the other to hurt people and we have to stop her," Kamala said quickly. Sometimes Kamala says things that makes Tommy question her sexuality

"You're telling me there's another bangle? And they're going to use that bangle to hurt you?" Muneeba confirmed.

"Monica will take care of her," Fury said gently.

"we will. And we will make sure she gets back home in one piece," Monica from Westview assured Muneeba. "I promise."

"Stay the course. We'll figure out how to close those jump points," Fury instructed.

"Kamala, you listen to me," Muneeba was breathing heavily now, looking strained. "If anything happens to you, I will kill her, you tell her that," Muneeba ordered, saying her threat in Urdu. "I love you beta."

"I love you more," Kamala nodded.

"Wait, what did she say?" Captain Marvel asked a second before the call ended.

"Nobody cares more than Captain Marvel, and nobody gets more grief for it. Trust me, Kamala is in good hands with Carol," Fury reassured them.

Their attention and worry was pulled away by Fury's ginger cat gagging loudly from her spot on the table, before vomiting a bunch of household appliances.

"What the fu... fudge!" Tommy's eyes snapped from Muneeba to the cat.

"She does that," Aamir sighed.

"What is wrong with that cat?" Muneeba asked. "It's acting very weird. Also Mr. Fury, she's looking a little pudgy. I think you're overfeeding her."

The cat jumped onto the back and began to lick her butt with very long tongues (plural) rolling over her body. "Goose," Fury called, but the cat ignored him. "Goose!"

"What is that thing?" Tommy asked.

"Goose is a Flerken," Fury told him.

"Cool. Hey, just curious, what did you say Monica's last name was again?" He asked innocently.

"Why?"

"So I can search her socials for anything incriminating, obviously," Tommy said

"Rambeau. R-A-M-B-E-A-U," Fury spelled.

"Thank you," Tommy said, leaving the room and going into an empty office.

Monica Rambeau was Geraldine, the woman who helped his mother give birth to him, who took bullets for him and Billy. The S.W.O.R.D. agent who rightfully turned against S.W.O.R.D.. She hadn't even known she had the powers before the third time she went through the witch hex. And yet Monica hadn't hesitated in taking those bullets, thinking she would die, with no knowledge of her powers.

Yeah, Kamala would be fine.

Next on his research list was his mother, although a lot he already knew. All of her Hydra information and Avenging history. Most of it was boring, so he flicked over to the uncle he never knew and never would, Pietro Maximoff. Speed's fake father.

Pietro's was much more interesting. His power set was the same as Tommy's. The most interesting thing about him lay at the near bottom of his file.

"Oh my god. Oh my god!" Tommy stood up, mouth open wide, staring in shock at the words on the screen.
