Chapter 6
Teen is at his Bar Mitzvah reading from the Torah, program schedules have the name William Kaplan on it
Stephen sighed with relief "see, Teen is called William not Billy" he said a little smugly, 'its a little early Stephen" Clea says getting a glare from Stephen
William is dancing and having fun, his parents Jeff and Rebecca tell him how much they love him.
Wanda smiled softly
William enters a palm reading tent "welcome to the curious. Are you looking forward or behind?" Lilia asks revealed to be the palm reader
Everyone was shocked "Lilia?" Vision asks shocked "but I don't think she remembers meeting him" Clint says "do you remember everyone you've ever met?" Sam asks "I'm asking those without photographic memories" causing Stephen to deflate
William gives Lilia his hand and the lights flicker "your lifeline is split in two" Lilia says it's because he is becoming a man, she sees Teens current form in the crystal ball "the Tower reversed" she says confusing William.
Stephen felt his migraine coming faster and stronger, "oh Strange, it would seem you theory is incorrect" Tony says a little gleefully "not necessarily Stark" Stephen growled doubling down 'The Tower reversed, another Tarot card' Clea thought
William goes to leave "you don't need to be a psychic to see that you're a good egg, enjoy the now baby" Lilia says. William leaves after a moment Lilia pulls out a piece of wood and draws the sigil before placing it in William's jacket pocket, she gives the jacket to Rebecca Kaplan
"She cast the sigil" Wanda says realisation
The Bar Mitzvah celebration is over when Jeff Kaplan announces that something is happening with the Westview Anomaly, everyone gets an alert on their phones and they all leave
Clint cocks his head "do you think, this is the day that the Hex was brought down?" He asks "could be" Natasha says, Wanda sat up straighter she already knew how the Hex affected people inside it but she didn't know how people outside it were affected
The Kaplan family is in the car driving, Jeff adjusts the radio but only Wanda and Vision's voices could be heard. William pulls out the sigil from his jacket pocket and looks out the window "is it getting smaller?" Jeff asks "looks like it's going away" Rebecca says, the Kaplan family is forced to swerve to avoid another car and drive off the road, with the car hitting a tree side on
Wanda gasps "that was the side William was sitting on" Peter says "hopefully the boy's ok" Carol says. Wanda couldn't help but feel guilty for causing the accident because of her grief
Jeff and Rebecca are ok, but William is unconcious and bleeding from his head. Jeff goes to flag down a passing police car. William's heart rate could be heard slowing down until it stops. "Goodnight Tommy" Billy's voice could be heard saying "goodnight Billy" Tommy could be heard saying. Then the heart starts beating, William now Billy gasps as he opens his eyes "Tommy!" Billy says
Stephen is forced to leap out of his chair as Wanda sends a Hex Bolt at him, he dodges a beam fired at him from Vision "Clea help me" he shouts as he is chased around the theatre by Wanda and Vision while dodging their attacks. Clea simply leans back in her chair watching in amusement "anyone going to help me?" Stephen asks using his magic to deflect the serious attacks everyone shakes their head "you bastard, you said they weren't real" Wanda shouts shooting Hex Bolts one after the other, some nearly hitting him "and what does that tell you?" Vision asks pointing at the screen "well how was I supposed to know that was going to happen?" Stephen snaps before he is slammed into a wall "ok that's enough" Clea says "no that's not nearly enough" Wanda cries "Wanda, calm down you can attack him later, but we need to finish watching this" Clea explains helping Stephen up. America had a look of thought "if Billy exists, than that would mean I was chased through the Multiverse for no reason" she says "no the sigil, it hid Billy from Witches including the Scarlet Witch" Loki says "so Lilia is to blame for Wanda chasing me through the Multiverse?" America asks, Wanda's eyes glowed red "so I have another to focus my rage on?" She asks menacingly, Clea put a soothing hand on Wanda's shoulder "Lilia did it for a reason Wanda" she says
Jeff comes back with a police officer who turns out to be Alice "don't move him, we have an ambulance on the way" she says. Billy is on a stretcher being asked questions
Clea rubs her chin "he was ten, then he was thirteen and now he's sixteen. He would've had to adjust pretty quickly and he wouldn't have any of William Kaplan's memories as William Kaplan had already moved on when Billy entered his body. It's a common side effect when entering the body of the recently dead" Clea explains. Wanda lets out a sob at the thought of her baby boy having a tough time in life because of her and of the Kaplan's not knowing that their son was dead
Billy is in the hospital, the sigil is next to him while his parents speak to the doctor about him. They enter the room saying that he could go home tomorrow, Jeff calls him buddy "this is the part where you would say since when do you call me buddy?" Jeff says jokingly "would I?" Billy asks. He hears the thoughts of Rebecca and Jeff, he asks them not to fight and they tell him they're not fighting.
Wanda gasps "so he still has all of his powers" she says "looks like our boy will be fine" Vision says. Bruce frowns "um hate to do this, but where's Tommy?" He asks Wanda and Vision sit up straight and look at Clea who taps her fingers "well he could either be in a body as well or" "or what?" Wanda urged, Clea looked a little uncomfortable "or he could be in the Void" Loki tilted his head "as in the Void at the End of Time?" "Tommy was created in the Hex and everything that was created while it was up disappeared when it was brought down, that's the Void I'm talking about" Clea explains getting a cry of anguish from Wanda
Billy enters the Kaplan's house and looks at all the photos on the walls, the dog barks at him Billy begins to hear his parents thoughts and starts to get overwhelmed "stop worrying" he says getting looks, he asks if he can go up to his room by himself and suggests they have dinner when he comes down. Billy enters his room which is filled with posters of magicians, he walks over to the mirror "I am William Kaplan" he says over and over
"Looks like he is trying to convince himself of who he is" Natasha says recognising the tactic as it was she used to do when she younger and had to go undercover, Wanda and Vision looked miserably at their son's life
Three years have gone by and Billy, who is now in his gothic style, is sitting in the car with his boyfriend Eddie, who asks him why he has the sigil with him "it's a puzzle" Billy says and he hasn't figured it out. Billy and Eddie make out and Billy hears Eddie's thoughts 'William Kaplan I love you' Billy pulls back in shock
Wanda had a soft smile on her face it was good to know that her son had found someone
Eddie goes to speak, but Billy says that he needs to go first and brings up the car accident, he says he died that day and when he came back he wasn't William Kaplan "not entirely anyway. I still don't remember anything from before the accident, I just pretended to recover so my parents wouldn't worry" Billy says because he loves Eddie too
Carol raised an eyebrow "you never steal someone's I love you from them" she says getting several nods. Wanda couldn't help but feel a little relief and guilt from having one of her sons around and guilt for causing the death of another kid
Eddie raises an eyebrow "you love me too?" He asks Billy backtracks in saying he loves him "if your not William Kaplan than who are you?" Eddie asks
"Billy Maximoff, son of Wanda Maximoff and her synthezoid boyfriend Vision" Tony says before having to dodge a Hex Bolt
Billy and Eddie are in Billy's room which now reflects his goth style, Billy says he compiled a dossier and asks for no distractions as Eddie starts to take off his jacket
Vision smiled at the man his son has become
Billy opens his laptop which is on a page about Jen, he says that her level of flawless should be illegal. Billy brings up pictures of the Hex "I thought that turned out to be just an Avengers training exercise gone wrong" Eddie says
Several eyebrows shoot up "that's how Damage Control covered up Westview, by saying it was an exercise gone wrong?" Sam asks "apparently and it also appears to have worked" Clint says
Billy says he doesn't buy it prompting Eddie to ask if it was Aliens. Billy zooms in that shows one of Wanda's runes "this was a spell. Witchcraft" Billy explains and goes on to say that people who live there refuse to talk about it
"Yeah I would refuse to talk about the time I was controlled and forced to feel the grief of a witch" Peter says causing Wanda to flinch
Billy says he found a guy on Reddit who lived there during it and it is meant to meet up tomorrow night
"Reddit has everything you could ever need" Kate says
Eddie and Billy are in a parking garage, while Eddie complains about the lack of lights and coffee. Billy asks if the guy at the other end is the one their meeting "you mean the guy in the trench coat, hiding in the dark?" Eddie asks
"I don't like this" Wanda says "oh relax, Billy can easily put anyone down if it comes to it" Tony says flippantly
The guy their meeting turns out to be Ralph Bohner
Clint's eyebrows shoot up "man he looks rough"
Ralph tells them that Wanda took over the town and forced them act some sad sitcom plot and it was like watching yourself on tv, but you couldn't turn it off. Billy asks him if he can do stuff now "you mean besides wake up every hour of the night screaming?" Ralph asks
Tony whistled "damn"
Billy hears Ralph thinking about Agatha Harkness "what do you know about Agatha Harkness?" "She's an ancient freaking witch who F your shit up" Ralph says
"Poor man" Kamala says
Ralph explains that Agatha had him do things, like poison a dog and be a bad influence on Wanda and Vision's kids "wait Wanda and Vision have kids?" Billy asks, Ralph corrects him by saying had and says their names Billy and Tommy "the little speedster and his mind reading brother" Billy asks where they're now "word on the street is thar Wanda's dead, SWORD scrapped Vison for parts" Ralph also says that he believes the twins got sucked up into red dome and that Agatha is under a spell
"Seriously how does that information just come out?" Tony asks "you'll be surprised to know that information will be handed out along with false information to confuse people" Natasha says
Billy asks if Agatha is still in Westview but Ralph tells him to stay away. Billy enters his house and his parents are in the living room asks him if he wants to watch a movie "I've got some homework" Billy says
"Who chooses homework over a movie?" Kate asks getting shrugs from her fellow teens
Billy is listening to Lorna Wu's version of the Ballad while he writes a list, Wanda Maximoff is dead, Vision disembled, there is a question mark next to his name and Tommy is missing
Wanda was miserable, she wanted to hold him so badly
Billy searches Agatha Harkness online and finds a photo of her, he reverse image searches the photo and discovers that she was on the Titanic, the Hindenburg and was Dolly Parton's infamous Jolene
"Damn she got around" Sam says "she's Jolene?" Carol asks
Billy continues to look up Agatha and discovers she's the only witch to survive the Witches' Road. He listens to the song as it mentions the Road.
"Oh boy, I know where this is going" Clint says everyone nods
Billy drives to Westview and pulls up outside Agatha's house. He quickly shoots a text to Eddie who sends him a black heart emoji
"Wait that emoji, maybe the black heart wasn't Rio but instead was Billy" Natasha says shocking people
Billy gets out of his car and covers his face, he pauses by the window where Agatha is talking to Rio in the spell. He climbs into her house through the upstairs window and finds her brooch, he knocks over a lamp as Agatha comes in. The chase is very different as Agatha falls off the roof and gets a cramp while chasing Billy who runs into Sharon's car door "hooligan" Sharon says
"So that's how the chase actually played out" Shang-chi muttered
Billy and Agatha are in Agatha's house and Billy asks for a glass of water, while correctly assuming that she has typecast him as a mouthy teen. She kicks him and says he doesn't want to poke the bear as she asks him multiple times if he wants to do it. Agatha throws down photos and demands to know what he knows about the female victim "what are you talking about these are just flowers" Billy says shocking Agatha, he quickly casts the breaking spell and Agatha ties him up and walks him to the closet
"So that's how the interrogation scene went down" Tony says
The next day Agatha opens the closet door and sees him. Agatha after picking up and opening her brooch as who he is "my name is William Kaplan" she asks him to repeat "I'm Billy Maximoff"
Wanda smiled at her son
Back on the Witches' Road Agatha drags herself out of the mud pit and takes off her jacket.
"Damn she survived" Loki mutters "that woman is a cockroach" Vision says
Billy has the sigil in his and which he destroys, "that was quite the debut" Agatha says walking up "a sigil, whats that? Power is what I'm missing" she says mockingly Billy says power doesn't interest him
"Of course he wouldn't be interested in power, his mother is the Scarlet Witch" Clea says causing Wanda to smirk
Billy asks Agatha when she figured it out "I had a feeling when we first met, I wasn't sure sure until you know" Agatha says acting out what just happened "even with a sigil in the way you and your mother have the exact same tell"
Wanda frowns "I have a tell?" She asks "you chew your bottom lip when your nervous" Vision says "you play with your hair when your upset and you rub your nose when you're trying to lie" Natasha says
"Nice to see you again Billy" Agatha says Billy realises that she can hear him now "every witch with a beating heart can hear you now" Agatha says
Clint narrows his eyes "I wonder if that was intentional" he muttered
"Oh Lilia and Jen, what you did was" Agatha says "but life goes on for you at least" Agatha says she has killed her share of witches and it hasn't held her back
"Yes but you're a serial killer" Wanda muttered angrily
"I'm not like you" Billy says, Agatha wonders where she heard that before. "Tell me I just gotta know, where did you come by this fresh body your wearing?" Agatha asks walking closer, she realises that Billy won't talk says that he broke the rules and saw an opportunity and he took it
Wanda gripped her chair's arms
Agatha tells Billy they should go find the next trial "but I don't need you anymore, I don't think I ever did" Billy says he flicks his hand but nothing happens he tells her she knows its there and that he can finish the Road on his own and he walks away "oh sure with all that power you can't control without throwing a temper tantrum" Agatha says "I'll figure it out!" Billy yells
Wanda nodded "I figured out my powers"
Agatha stalks closer "what does Billy Maximoff want at the end of the Road?" She asks as she circles him "is it to find Mama? No she chose a town full of strangers over her own flesh and wires" Agatha says mockingly
"I didn't have a choice, they were under my control and suffering" Wanda says with tears in her eyes.
"How about Robo Papa? Heaven knows where he is or in how many pieces"
Vision gripped the chair's arms until they broke
"Who else is there? Of course there's two of you, your after Tobey" Agatha says "Tommy" Billy corrects her Agatha insists that's what she said "he's out there somewhere. I can sense him, I just can't find him" Billy says
"Sorry Wanda, but that confirms that Tommy is in the Void" Clea says getting a sad nod from Wanda
"Gosh you really are a Maximoff. Otherwise none of this would be nearly as dramatic" Agatha says
Wanda frowned "I'm not dramatic, am I dramatic?" No one answered
"He's my brother" Billy says aggressively and that if Agatha wants to continue the Road, then he doesn't trust her at all "got it, let's go find the next trial. Last one there's a nice person" Agatha says walking away "I'm not that nice" Billy says following her
Wanda sighed as the stress of what they were watching left her body "so what do we think?" Kamala asks "I think we have a powerful baby witch on a deadly magical road with an equally deadly witch" Stephen says dodging a Hex Bolt "shut it you, my son can handle her" Wanda growled out Vision nodded in agreement with the Mind Stone glowing "at least you know he is ok" Clea says getting a nod from Wanda and Vision
