Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow
Agatha sat in her overstuffed grey chair, staring out the bay window Rio insisted on for their new home. She had initially resisted, still struggling to accept that she was deserving of nice things, of people being nice to her, but she sighed with a simple sort of satisfaction as she burrowed further into the cozy chair, pulling her purple and green quilt further up on her lap. Her head to the side as she watched the shenanigans playing out in their front yard, a smile coming easy as she giggled to herself, her eyes fluttering closed against her will.
Rio seemed to sense when her love finally succumbed to sleep, her eyes looking over to the large window her wife currently rested in front of. The snowball in her hand still found its target, square in Jen’s chest, her shout of outrage piercing the early winter evening. Alice laughed, loud and happy, hiding her joy behind her scarf as her girl advanced on her, devious wickedness in Jen’s eyes. Rio and Teen made eye contact, green and blue magic lifting several snowballs slowly behind them, the secret missiles hovering, waiting for the perfect moment, the two slowly advancing on their prey, not seeing the creeping shadows coming slowly behind them.
Eddie and Sharon stood over the two witches who were now covered in snow, gloating viciously as the two scrapped snow from their faces.
“This is what happens when you don’t pay attention sweetheart,” Sharon giggled before extending a hand down to Rio.
Death just stared up at the old woman, still trying to work out exactly what happened and how two puny humans got the drop on her. She smiled, shaking the last of the snow from her dark locks.
“I’m going to enjoy reaping your soul, you sneaky old thing you,” Rio laughed as she pressed a kiss to Sharons greying locks.
“Well, don’t hold your breath love, I got too much living to do yet,” Sharon smiled, watching Eddie help his grinning lover up. She hugged Rio tight to her.
“Agatha’s sleep, go in and wake her, Lilia said dinners almost ready,” she commanded, pushing the ancient being towards her home.
Saluting, Rio walked in the warm home, heading over to her wife. Giving her a soft kiss, Agatha woke with a smile.
“Did you have fun making snowmen,” she sleepily asked, stretching as she stood. Rio reached out to help her, steadying her with a hand to her back. Agatha pressed both hands to her bulging tummy, feeling the little one in her move around.
Rio’s laugh made her smile even more, “We didn’t even make it that far love, Sharon and Eddie did manage to sneak up on me and Teen.”
Agatha joyful laughter was joined by the other’s voices as they made their way in the home, “I will never for one moment doubt that that woman is a witch thru and thru.”
“I’m saying,” Rio agreed, still trying to figure it out. Rio pressed a kiss to the baby growing safely in its warm home, before helping Agatha make her way to the dining room.
“Make way for baby,” she called out loudly, earning a gentle elbow from Agatha. She looked around the room, so full of love, full of all the things she never thought she’d have, and she smiled, letting herself enjoy this feeling for once, this peace that settled in her bones.
