Summary
Good luck is when opportunity meets preparation, while bad luck is when lack of preparation meets reality. And by all the gods and their grandmothers, Peter was determined to make himself some good luck, I mean after all he'd had his whole life filled with nothing but bad luck even Aunt May and Ned had nicknamed his unfortunate luck “Parker luck”. He'd lost his parents at five to a plane crash, Uncle Ben was killed in a shakedown Peter had failed to stop. Peter knows it is not his fault at least that's what May says.OrPeter goes on a field trip to Stark industries

Mr Harrington, goes mad!

Harley was getting a later phase of the plan sorted, Pepper was getting a team to work on some NDA’s (which were definitely needed), Bucky was waiting in Peters workshop with Steve, and Peter well he needed to finish a quick meeting with Lieutenant George, who was really starting to get on Pepper, Tony, and Peters nerves.

The meeting was just starting and Peter just wanted to leave, he was barely paying attention as to why Stark Industries should supply the U.S army with weapons.

When Peter starts to tune back into the meeting he is met with “The U.S army wholeheartedly believes that we are entitled to being supplied by any tech company which Stark Industries is of course a part of.”

OH HELL NO.

“I'm sorry to interrupt your riveting reasons, Lieutenant, but Why on earth would the U.S army be entitled to anything?”

“Well because we protect and serve the good people of this country” he confidently replies.

Peter holds up his hand

“Let me get this straight, the U.S. government thinks they are entitled to weapons being supplied from a company that doesn't even make weapons? All because you what? train to protect and serve the good people of this country?”

The Lieutenant looks about to interrupt but Peter’s had enough of this man and the organization he works for trying to intimidate Pepper and Tony into making weapons.

So he stands up, raises his voice and continues strongly.

“Tell me, lieutenant, what does the U.S army do to help homelessness? What about global warming? What about the messed up health system? Are you protecting and serving when you use water guns and smoke bombs on peaceful protesters?”

When the Lieutenant stares stunned and speechless, Peter knows his breathing is out of control and he won't be able to control himself soon “FRIDAY, alert security that Lieutenant George has outstayed his welcome, and will not be allowed back into this building again”

“Of course Peter, Happy and his team are underway”

The Lieutenant stands up, but Peter is walking out the door.

“Mr Parker, I understand that it was out of line, but don't you want to protect your country from outside threats,” Peter ignores he can see the elevator ding open as Happy walks out with a look that promises death, the glare only hardens when the Lieutenant grabs Peter’s arm and spins him to face him.

“Listen here kid, I know you're young, but you cannot make business deals led by your emotions, there are things you don't understand, kid.”

Peter interrupts while shaking the Lieutenant’s grip. “No Lieutenant, it's you who doesn't understand you have nothing but ignorance, selfishness, you need to leave.”

The Lieutenant is getting increasingly red and moves to strike Peter but is grabbed from behind by a pissed off Happy, who seem all the more glad to have the Lieutenant restrained, Happy’s team move quickly to get the Lieutenant out of the building.

“Are you hurt Pete? Did he hit you?” Happy fussed over him, making Peter smile and swat him away.

“No I'm fine he was just an entitled baby” Happy nods seeming to get some relief.

“He’s getting a lifetime ban right?” Peter turns, stops and groans.

“Yeah he’s getting a lifetime ban, but it seems I'll be the one paying for it.”

Happy looks deeply confused by Peter’s mood swing, before looking down the hallway and noticing Midtown.

Standing in a group with all their jaws on the floor, however not one of them is talking or whispering, they are purely looking at Peter.

Peter can tell when Flash and Mr Harrington go to move, so he does the smart thing and turns tail and runs, leaving Happy to sort out this mess.

Once in the safety of the elevator he finally breathes out a sigh of relief which is quickly interrupted by a mass amount of notifications blaring in through his phone.

He checks who texted him; it's mostly just a train of “what was that dude!” from Ned and a lot of question marks from the rest of the academic decathlon team. He sighs once more before promptly ignoring them in favor of texting Tony.

[Pete]

Midtown saw me during my meeting with, Lieutenant entitled :(

[Tin-Can]

Really? Did the meeting at least go well?

[Pete]

He got kicked out of the building and now has a lifetime ban.

[Tin-Can]

So it went great! Thanks for doing that. :)

[Pete]

🫡

[Pete]

Do you know if Loki and Thor have been informed, FRIDAY sent me an alert when they got here.

[Tin-Can]

Yeah, Harley gave them the down low and sent them to their positions.

[Pete]

: D

[Tin-Can]

🙄 :)

As the Elevator dinged open Peter stepped out and walked down the long white hallway with big observation windows on either side there were four labs on this floor Tony’s, Bruce’s, Peter’s, and Shuri for whenever she visits, the tour will take them down this hall so they could hopefully get the chance to spot Tony Stark at work.

As Peter made his way to his lab he spotted Bucky and Steve with tense faces that both looked up from the screen they were watching when Peter entered.

“Hi Bucky, I'm glad we both finally have time to fix the bug, I know it has been annoying you, so I'm sorry, it's taken this long for me to get around to it.”

Peter was a little nervous; he knows Bucky hates his arm being worked on so he tries to blabber on about unimportant things like what he ate for lunch, the lego set he and Ned are working on, just to get Bucky's mind to calm down.

Throughout this whole thing his ears pick up Midtown walking down the hallway and chattering about but it all falls silent when their footsteps reach the observation window of Peter’s lab. They've spotted him.

Peter can feel as Bucky and Steve notice Midtown’s presence as they sit straighter, so Peter makes them comfortable by making jokes and saying anything off the top of his head which causes them to let their guard down.

“What exactly did your teacher do Peter?” Steve cautiously asked making Peter stop

“What do you mean? I just got kicked off the field trip” He continues to work on Bucky's arm

“I mean why were you kicked off? And why is he looking so angry right now?”

That cause’s Peter to spin around to look, Mr Harrington looks about to burst a blood vessel.

“Oh, I'm not too sure, I guess he just doesn't like me. He kicked me off cause he thought I was committing fraud cause Tony signed my permission slip.” Peter brushes off going back to working on Bucky’s arm.

Midtown is still there when he pulls the last wire into place and starts closing up Bucky’s arm. “Right Mr Bucky, go ahead and try it out!” Bucky leans forward and reaching to pick up a glass next to Peter he stretches it out, by moving it this way and that, when all of a sudden they hear muffled screaming coming from Midtown.

They all turn their heads in perfect sync which would have been funny if they hadn't found Mr Harrington bright in the face screaming and banging down the window.

The entire academic decathlon team looks to have taken a step back watching on with fearful eyes, including Flash, the tour guide is practically shaking.

The scene is enough to make Peter, Steve and Bucky all stand and take a step forward (they are all heroes (in Peter's case vigilante) after all).

In the end Steve exits the Lab, he seems to have a very heated argument with Mr Harrington. Steve turns and comforts Shelly who is positively frightened, FRIDAY calls for Happy as per protocol who appears quickly and detains Mr Harrington, while everyone is watching on.

Steve starts to usher all the kids out but is having little to no luck, a sight peter is having a hard time not laughing at. Peter and Bucky look at each other then promptly burst out in laughter, Steve sends them a betrayed glare, which sets them into motion, Peter is out a yelling out over the commotion

“Midtown! Listen up! You need to make your way to the auditorium where a member of staff from your school will come to supervise you so you can get on with the rest of your trip!”

Midtown quiets down, looking around confused, Steve steps up,

“Follow me Midtown. I will be supervising you until a new tour guide and faculty member shows up.” He moves down the hallway with long strides, Midtown practically running to catch up.

Shelly has already turned and left to ask for some much needed time off. Peter will make sure she gets it.

The only people left in the hallway Peter and Bucky who look at each other, breathe out a sigh of relief which breaks into uncontrolled laughter.

“FRIDAY, you got that on camera?” Peter breaths between laughs

He only laughs more when FRIDAY tells him “Already sent to the Avenger group chat.”
