Fragments of Hope (prologue)
The blip brought back destroyed families and rebuilt friendships, serving as a temporary mourning for the majority of people. The world moves forward, progress is made, and we are gradually recovering from the crisis that shook the universe. In a few years, this event will be etched in history, alongside other significant moments. The years will pass, and the suffering will become distant, as the world learns to honor those who sacrificed themselves for it.
What we forget is that the heroes who contributed to its rescue, those who rebuilt edifices from ruins, are also the ones who will endure the greatest torment. Pepper Potts, for example, became a widow after losing the love of her life, while Morgan Stark will grow up without her father. Bucky Barnes will have to confront his demons, without his best friend who never learned to mourn his old life. Clint Barton, haunted by survivor's guilt, will see Natasha everywhere he goes, even in his shadow. Thor, for his part, having lost his entire family, will struggle to recover from his depression.
Among them, two stand out particularly on the scale of suffering. They will each lose their world, leaving only memories, tears, and the decaying bodies of their loved ones.
We are talking here about a young boy with a pure heart, ready to give his soul for others, but from whom everything has been taken. His own identity will be stripped away, and he will no longer exist in the eyes of the world. The one burdened by responsibilities, with the powers of a spider.
On the other hand, there is a young girl with special powers, capable of shaping reality at will. This very reality, she will alter to confront an insurmountable wall. She will take a city hostage to live the life she deserves, unintentionally causing suffering to its inhabitants. For her happiness, others suffer her misfortune. She will be unjustly labeled a witch, something that everyone would have done to confront their grief.
It is in this alternate universe that a relationship will form. In total nothingness, a light will emerge, as the exit from the tunnel finally becomes visible. It is in complete solitude that familial bonds will be woven between two Avengers who, however, had very little interaction before. It is in their sorrow that Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker will find each other.
