Another Day
Welcome to dimension S-632, a dimension where soulmates are real, and on occasion, are able hear the thoughts of their other half slip through and upon meeting can control the ability. Unknown to you, you were fated to Moon Knight, or rather his three personalities, Marc Spector, the body’s original, Steven Grant and Jake Lockley, and boy did that complicate the thoughts you would hear slip through.
You had been walking through the park that day by yourself, softly singing, Let’s Go Fly a Kite, as you enjoyed the beautiful day. Your hair gently blowing around your face due to the light breeze as you zipped up your jacket. It was turning to fall in New York, marked by the change of the leaves as they flew by you, adding to your joyful mood, not realizing your thoughts were slipping through this morning.
Marc Spector let out a tired groan as he woke up to the sound of singing in his shared mindspace. “It’s already loud enough in here with the other two.”, tiredly rubbing a hand down his face as he sat up in bed, after another long night of being the Fist of Khonshu.
“Oh, cheer up mate! how can you be so mad to wake up to the voice of an angel”, Steven sighed dreamily as he listened to your faint voice at the back of their mindspace that was leaking in this morning.
“Easy for you to say, you weren’t the one having to fight off Hydra agents last night”, Marc groaned as he got out of bed with bags under his eyes, his body cracking in several places as moved causing Steven to wince at the noise.
“You’re still just mad that our soulmate isn’t Layla”, Jake said bluntly as he appeared in front of Marc.
“I thought we agreed not to talk about that!” Marc snapped, causing Jake to raise his hands in defensively in surrender, “Si, I won’t mention it again.”
Steven cleared his throat nervously, trying to distract the two of them from going at it all morning. “Well now that, that’s out of the way,” Steven said as he walked through the flat and headed to the kitchen, “I do believe it is my turn to front today, Marc.” Steven said as he gestured to a calendar on the wall, showing off the color-coded calendar they had set up a while back once they all learned about each other’s presence.
Marc let out a sigh but relented control of the body, as Steven took over the body language changed from Marc’s more uptight and defensive posture to Steven’s more drawn in and cautious body language.
Steven clapped his hands together now that he was back in control, “alrighty, let’s get the day started!” he said cheerfully as he began his usual routine. Setting the kettle to boil to make tea, while he feed Gus the fish in his tank, once his tea was ready, he sat down on the couch with a book on Ancient Egypt, causing Marc and Jake to both groan simultaneously.
“We give him control of the body and all he does is read, read, read” Jake grumbled in his thick Spanish accent.
“I’ll have you know, my reading, has now saved you and Marc’s arses six times now, when we’ve fought different deities and monsters from Egypt!” Steven said triumphantly, causing Marc and Jake to relent and vanish from Steven’s view as they both retreat into their shared mindspace for the day, “peace and quiet at last”, Steven said to himself with a small smile on his face. “And today’s subject of interest will be”, he said as he flipped through the book to where he last left off, “Hathor.”
