I'm a frickity frackin nerd
I’m told not to pack anything, as all my basic amenities will be provided on Asgard, so a couple of days later, I’m in a remote location with Thor and he puts his arm around me, holding me closely to him and sticks the famed Mjolnir in the air and a few seconds later, I’m surrounded by rainbow light. I feel an immense rush and then my feet are on solid ground again. I step away from Thor, and I see a man with blazing yellow eyes holding a giant sword. From all the reading I’ve done, I have a pretty good guess as to who it is.
“Heimdall, correct?”
“Correct,” he looks past me at Thor, “I see why you’ve picked them; the All Father is waiting in the palace.” Thor walks past me, beckoning me to follow him.
“Good day Heimdall.” I say as I jog to catch up with Thor. He waits for me at the exit of the giant golden orb we were just standing in, and as I reach him, I see why. I stop dead in my tracks, jaw dropping immediately and eyes widening. The sight in front of me is a sight to behold. The rainbow bridge stretches directly in front of me, with the most glorious palace I have ever seen.
“I’m actually in Asgard.” I nearly whisper in disbelief. “And this is the Bifrost – and that – that’s the Asgardian Palace.” Thor chuckles,
“Let us go, my father is waiting for us.” He leads me all the way down the bridge and through the winding, and ever golden, palace, ending in the throne room where, an older man – whom I’m guessing is Odin – sits.
“Father, this is the very honorable Lady Iris Carter, Lady Iris, this is-“ I don’t even let him finish before I start nerding out.
“Odin, correct? The All Father? On Midgard this place is not but a myth, something humans used to believe in centuries ago, when it is in fact very much real and very much beautiful.”
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Lady Iris.” Odin says with a smile on his face. Oh gods, I’ve said too much. Damn my reading.
“The pleasure is all mine, your majesty.” I say with a small bow as Thor takes my arm to follow him.
