Mokuba, Rogue, Bobby, and John froze when they heard that before turning to a TV that was playing the news.
"Early today a mutant attacked the Oval Office, details are still coming in, but we were informed that the president and the vice president were unharmed."
Mokuba cursed at that "god damn it, let's go" Mokuba said before hurrying the teens back outside, "hey there, you are how long does it take to track down children?" Storm asked chuckling as Scott and Storm waited for them next to the bus.
"Go on you three on the bus” Mokuba told them and as the kids got on Mokuba turned to Scott and Storm concerned “Scott, Storm we need to talk", Scott frowned moving forward to wrap an around Mokuba to calm him down "hey, is everything okay?" Scott asked worried and Mokuba shook his head.
"No have you seen the news today?" Mokuba asked and they shook their head, “no, why? Mokie, my dear friend, what's wrong?" Storm asked and Mokuba frowned.
Mokuba sighed "A mutant just tried killing the president and vice president at the oval office, it’s all over the news" Mokuba told them, Storm and Scott looked at Mokuba shocked before Scott cursed "shit, we need to inform the professor now, this isn't good at all" Scott declared and Mokuba nodded.
"Agreed"
Later, the X-Men were in Charles's office talking about the recent incident.
"My opinion, Magneto is behind this"
Mokuba frowned at that staring at his husband who stood with his back to them at the window while Jean shook her head sat a few chairs away from where he sat on a couch, "no, I don't think so Scott" Jean said before Charles who was in the centre shook his head, "while Erik is capable of organizing something like this from prison for him, it would be irrational, it would only hurt his goal of mutant prosperity" Charles told them making Scott snort.
"You mean superiority"
Mokuba snorted in agreement as Scott sat next to him before placing a hand on his knee and Mokuba instantly intertwined their fingers at that "he isn’t wrong professor, if Erik had his way the entire human race would he wiped out with only Mutants left” Mokuba agreed before Storm who was leaned against the door frowned, "of course you know how the government will respond, they'll reintroduce the registration act," Storm added.
Mokuba tightly grip his husbands hand at that looking worried.
"Every mutant could be seen as a threat; they’d warrant an order for our arrest"
Scott frowned, rubbing Mokuba's leg before Jean decided to change the topic, "do you think the assassin was working alone?" she asked and Charles frowned, "we'll only know that if we find him before the authorities do" Charles told them.
Mokuba frowned "how are we going to do that?" Mokuba asked and Charles frowned, "I've been trying to track him using Cerebro, but his movements are inexplicably erratic," Charles said.
"When I have more exact coordinates, Storm, Jean, I'll need you to take the jet and try to pick him up," Charles told the girls who nodded, “Meanwhile, Scott and I will head to the prison Erik is staying at see what he knows," Charles said before Mokuba looked hurt.
"I'm being benched?"
"No Mokuba of course not but somebody's got to stay and protect the kids, I know I can leave that in your capable hands Mokuba," Charles told his student, Mokuba looked surprised but nodded "Oh…yeah, I can do that, you can count on me” Mokuba told him who nodded.
"I know I can Mokuba."
Later, Scott was getting ready to leave in his room.
Watching him was Mokuba who was changing Melissa "are you going to be okay? I'm worried about you," Scott told Mokuba, Mokuba frowned at that but as he didn’t want to worry him Mokuba smillied and winked at him "oh Scott, you gonna deny the professor for me awe you do love me?" Mokuba teased making his partner roll his eyes.
"I am serious Mokuba, you inform me you're having constant nightmares about our child dying, what do you expect from me to just let it go?" Scott asked and Mokuba frowned, "No of course not, we'll deal with that, but right now the risk of our existence is in jeopardy, which includes our daughter, that's more important than my issues right now Scott" Mokuba told him before Scott pulled him into his arms.
"You are important to me"
"I know Scott, I know"
Mokuba cupped his face tracing his glasses "promise you’ll come back to me," Mokuba asked, Scott leaned down to kiss him gently "I'll always come back to you Mokuba, both of you" Scott told him.

Scott kissed Melissa and Mokuba goodbye before heading off to the prison with Charles.
