Chapter Ten.
Teleporting him to the ICU unit with Kelly, he saw Jean already seating up, so he helped him on the bed before Jean turned to him and Kelly "you weren't kidding; he does look like a jellyfish," Jean commented joining him and beginning to look him over.
"Yep, you know I've seen mutation trigger late before” Mokuba told her before he looked curious, “but correct me if I'm wrong, mutation normally presents upon puberty, I mean I got my powers when I was 13 anyway?" Mokuba inquired before Jean nodded.
"No, no, you're right. I've never seen anything like this," Jean agreed, "It's weird. His cells are rapidly changing, attacking each other. It's like they've been modified," Jean commented making Mokuba pale.
"You thinking experimental?" Mokuba asked and Jean nodded looking grim, “I’m afraid that’s exactly what it’s looking like” Jean concludes before they heard the door open automatically.
"What have you got?"
Mokuba and Jean turned to see Charles.
"Honestly? I can't explain it, but he's becoming like us, a mutant, but his body's rejecting the X-gene. His cells are their integrity, they're liquefying," Jean explained, Mokuba hummed "so he's like a water balloon?" Mokuba asked.
Jean hummed "well, in less of a better wording for it, yes," Jean agreed before Charles wheeled over, "hello, Senator Kelly, my name's Professor Charles Xavier," Charles introduced.
"I was afraid if I went to a hospital, they would..."
"Treat you like a mutant?"
"We are not what you think, not all of us anyway," Mokuba commented before Kelly chuckled, "tell it to the ones that did this to me," Kelly commented before Charles sighed.
"Senator, I need you to try and relax. I won't hurt you," Charles informed before placing a hand on his hand, closing his eyes.
Charles used his powers to extract what was needed.
A little later, Logan, Charles, Jean, and Scott were in Charles's office without Storm, who was looking after Senator Kelly.
"So, Magneto's made his own personal mutant maker?" Mokuba asked, "essentially, yes, this machine emits radiation that triggers mutations in normal human beings" Charles explained.
"But the mutation isn't natural, so it kills them Kelly's dying I honestly don’t believe he’s going to survive the night" Jean explained, "what effect does radiation have on mutants?" Scott asked worried.
"There appears to be none."
Mokuba hummed at that "makes sense; our mutations already trigger, and the machine can't trigger what's already been triggered in our body" Mokuba commented, "so what does Magneto want with Rogue?" Logan asked.
"I don't know."
"Wait a second," Scott began sitting up "this machine draws its power from Magneto, so it would've weakened him, right?", "from what I saw, yes, actually it nearly killed him," Charles corrected.
Mokuba's face paled in realization.
"He's going to give his power to Rogue, son of a bitch is going to kill a kid"
