Foolish thoughts
Steve Rogers closed the door to the headmaster's office and took a deep breath. He had been preparing for several days, indeed weeks, to start this new job. And he really felt ready to begin. He loved working as a teacher and was really looking forward to this.
But there was one thing he hadn't expected when he entered the school that day. The man he had just spoken to. The school's principal and his own new boss. Tony Stark.
Some of the new colleagues had mentioned Tony to Steve when he had met them, and everyone he had spoken to had said positive things about the man. They described him as friendly, approachable and capable.
Steve had gotten that impression as well when they exchanged emails.
It was just that no one had mentioned with a word how amazing Mr. Stark ("call me Tony, please". "Oh...uh sure, Tony") looked!
The dark, beautiful hair and the short, well-trimmed and stylish beard. The pretty smile. Not to mention those beautiful hazel eyes. Coupled with his kindness and slightly deep voice, this was perfection to Steve!
The thought made him feel ashamed of himself. First day in a new job and he was already captivated by his own boss! "No wait! What kind of word was that? Captivated? Where did that word come from?" Steve thought, shaking his head.
Hopefully, Tony…no Mr. Stark…no Tony…uh, hopefully his boss wasn't a mind reader.
Then Steve would probably have no other choice but to look for a new job after being fired in record time!
Men like Tony Stark wasn`t single. They were in a relationship. They were probably married. Presumably with a woman. In any case, they weren't the least bit interested in men younger than themselves. Such men as Steve Rogers!
Steve sighed deeply and started walking towards the teacher's room. Hopefully, conversations with the other teachers, the students, and the teaching itself would get the foolish thoughts out of his head. There would probably not be many meetings with the principal. He hoped. At the same time, there was nothing else he would rather have.
"You big idiot, Steve Rogers", he muttered to himself before opening the door to the teacher's room and to his relief he saw that several of his colleagues had arrived.
Time to start doing what he was actually paid to do!
