“Well if she is leaving because she has a crush on her Supervising Officer, it just proves my point: she’s too emotional to do this.” she heard May say unabashedly.“When she realised she had feelings for her supervising officer, she removed herself from the situation because she knew those feelings were dangerous.” Coulson told them seriously, “She’s not like you, who was petty and jealous and bullied her into leaving the team.” he continued the anger and condemnation clear in his voice; she knew he had directed that statement at May.There was a moment of silence before Ward spoke "Sir, I-"But Coulson cut him off before he could finish speaking, “get out of my sight ” he declared.Afraid to listen to another word, or worse, be found eaves dropping again, Skye grabbed her tablet and ran back to the briefing room. After Skye learns that May and Ward were sleeping together, she decides to leave the team.A year later after she has joined Isabel Hartly's team and Hunter is her new S.O, they are sent to rescue Ward, May and Fitz after their mission goes wrong.The feelings she thought she had buried rise to the surface once again.

A Skyeward fic in 2024? Who is going to want to write about a ship that died before it could set sail from a TV show that ended so many years ago?Me. That's who.I know I'm late to the Skyeward party, but I have so many ideas for them and I wanted to check if anyone in the fandom was interested in reading about them anymore.The reaction to this fic will determine if I think its worth writing all my other stories about them, if there is still an audience that wants to read about them.Not for Melinda May fans. I LOVE May in the other season of A.O.S but I think people forget just how horrible May was in the beginning and I wanted to explore that in this fic.AND I've always found Hunter and Skye to be so similar, I was always disappointed with that we didn't to see more of a friendship between them.Enjoy.!
