A Crushing Guilt
Puss crawled and stretched his body before going into Death’s Lap. The Wolf was worried and asked, “Something bothering you, Gato?” Puss Replied, “Oh nothing, just Someone I loved Died.” “Who?” “Kitty Softpaws.”
Puss had been friends with Kitty Softpaws ever since they were young. They had been through thick and thin together, and had grown up into the strongest and most loyal of friends.
But now, Kitty was gone, taken from this world too soon, and Puss felt an aching emptiness that threatened to consume him. He had no idea why this had happened, but he knew that he would never forget her.
He crawled and stretched his body, trying to ease the pain in his heart, before going into Death's Lap. He was greeted by the Wolf, who had seen Puss' sorrow and asked him what was wrong. Puss replied, “Oh nothing, just someone I loved died.” The Wolf, understanding the pain of loss, asked who it was. Puss replied in a quiet voice, “Kitty Softpaws.”
The Wolf nodded in understanding and sympathy, and comforted Puss in his grief. He said that he understood the pain of loss, and that Puss need not suffer alone. He said that even though Kitty was gone, the memories of her would remain with Puss forever.
Puss thanked the Wolf for his words of comfort, and knew that his friend would never be forgotten. He had found solace in Death's Lap, and was thankful for the kindness of the Wolf. With a heavy heart, Puss said goodbye and set off on his journey, knowing that he would never forget his beloved Kitty Softpaws.
Puss and Kitty, who had been soulmates ever since they first met in San Ricardo, frequently traveled together. They stole a lot of things before splitting up, but they later reconciled. But Puss arrived by himself this time. She got sliced when the pirates captured her, and they immediately seized Puss and went to Ceuta after he got into difficulties with a network of spies in Spain and proceeded to Porto Victoria.
Due to the sea's conditions, he just about made it off the ship. He patted himself dry and then turned to face the ship. It was sinking and made him think of when his love had passed away. He went to the location of the whistle and took cover there. He found the Wolf sharpening his Sickles for the preparation for the fight. “O-ola, Lobo… Muerte?” “What is it?” Death spoke.
Puss crawled and stretched his body before going into Death’s Lap. The Wolf was worried and asked, “Something bothering you, Gato?” Puss Replied, “Oh nothing, just Someone I loved Died.” “Who?” “Kitty Softpaws.” Death was surprised, and asked “How is Life?” “Not so good.”
The Wolf soothed him by sympathetically nodding and sharing stories of his time spent with Kitty Softpaws. Death said, "Well, she may be gone, but your memories of her will live on," to which Puss replied, "Really?" Death said, "Yes, but I'm not very good with words." Puss answered, "I think it's perfect." Death asked, "Really?" Puss nodded, and soon they were talking and watching the sun set.
Then when the time came, Puss finally understood the tragedies of life and thanked the wolf for providing him peace, and which they said farewell and went off separate ways. That reminded puss that even the tragedy of life might soon fade away, and that Kitty Softpaws might live on forever in his heart.
