the Bank
“I am home !” screams a young boy while entering his apartment.
“I am in the kitchen !” screams a woman.
Quickly the younger boy drops his bag and runs towards the kitchen. Entering the room, he sees her in front of the stove.
“Hello Peter, how was your first day of school ?”
“Boring… I have already learned everything they are teaching…” he says sitting down at the kitchen aisle.
“I know, but you should curse Strange for making you 16 again”
He grunts and Tatyana laughs. She flips the last steak before putting it on the counter next to some rice and salad.
"I am sure it will be great, you will make some friends here » she pats his head before sitting down.
“They will never be like MJ and Ned…”
“I know, and no one can be Natasha or Tony, we lost everyone we loved, but Strange gave us a new life to find others”
Peter looks up to meet her gentle eyes and her smile showing her perfect white teeth.
“Now eat and then we can go”
“We are doing a patrol ?!” he asks excitedly.
She winks at him as she begins to put food on her plate. With that, Peter starts to eat rapidly making the older woman laugh. After their early dinner, they begin to prepare for their nocturnal activity.
“Karen, can you connect to the police radio ?” Asks Peter as he is in his suit.
“I am currently connected to their network,” the A.I. said after a few minutes.
Peter listens closely to whatever calls he can hear, waiting for the older woman to arrive. He was suited in his Spiderman costume, his most recent one and his only souvenir of his past life, and Tony.
“Are you ready ?” the younger boy hears from behind him.
He turns around to be met by a similar costume, while his spider costume is blue, red and gold, Tatyana’s is black, red and silver. While he had a spider logo on his torso, she had another symbol, the black widow symbol. After all, she was the Original Black Widow, the first one. Tatyana was not his mentor for nothing if Tony was his mentor concerning technology and how to handle being a superhero. The woman in front of him was more special, she was a spider just like him, that is why she had changed her costume to match him when she met him. He remembers asking her about her past and how she has become a black widow and a spider-like him.
Years before.
“Tatyana? Can… can you tell me how you became a Black Widow?
She smiled sadly after she heard his question. She took a deep breath.
“I was born in 1925 from a Russian family, we were poor but we were a happy family living off of crops and milk. But in the middle of World War 2, Hydra took me from my parents, I was 10 when I was a witness to their death. They wanted to create new killers, spies or whatever they called it. We were hundreds of children, some were kidnapped like me, others were bought from orphanages or even from their parents selling them for a few roubles”.
“You are as old as Bucky and Steve ?” Peter asks incredulity.
“Bucky… the Winter Soldier was my roommate from time to time, they put me in ice too. But our genes as spiders are stronger, we have a longer lifespan. I am only 45 years old if we are only counting the years put out of the ice.”
“You look like you are under 30” he mumbles.
She smiles quietly, continuing to look at the city under them. She always liked looking at New York when the sun was down, it was quieter and prettier.
“What happened to you or the other children?”
“After the success of creating the Winter Soldier, they wanted to create another merciless killer. They began experimenting, and that’s when they decided to create radioactive spiders, they wanted to use their qualities of being a deadly predator and incorporate them into a human being. But…”
“What happened?”
“Hundreds if not thousands of children died because their bodies could not endure the transition, they wanted to stop, but then, their miracle arrived. I survived. Out of all the children, I was the only one left.”
She looks at him sadly.
“I was named after one of the deadliest spiders, the Black Widow, I was supposed to be the nightmare of Hydra’s enemies. However, contrary to the Winter Soldier, due to my fast metabolism and my body in general, they could not wipe my memories, therefore I was not the perfect tool they wanted. I was Iced and another better generation of Black Widow appeared, of which Natasha was part. They were supposed to be turned like me after they were brainwashed enough, but the project was put aside due to its high stakes of the serum killing every girl. After all, I was the only one after years of tries and murders.”
Peter was in awe, in front of him was the first Black Widow ever, and she was his mentor.
“So you are the only real Black Widow ?”
“Yes, I am, well I was until you”
“I am no Black Widow,” he asks confused.
“In 2016, the new Hydra leaders found back the original Black Widow project. They begin creating a new serum, more human, this time incorporated in a spider that will release the serum with its bite. When I learned about this project I did everything I could to destroy it, I couldn’t let them do what they did to me and others, knowing how many were going to be killed. So I went rogue I burned down their labs in Russia. However, the last one was in New York. When I arrived there, they were prepared for me. In the end, I succeeded in destroying all evidence except one. A spider escaped…”
Peter began to think about what Tatyana said, a spider with radioactive power escaped, what happened to it? But again, he was sure that this spider was related to him, after all, he was also bitten by a spider.
“Was this the spider that bite me?! says Peter.
“Yes… that’s why I tried to find you, and when I did, I trained you, I felt guilty. If I were stronger, faster, I could have prevented that.”
“You did more than enough, others could have been killed by those spiders, I was lucky I survived, and in addition, I was able to become a superhero”
“Indeed, you are the best superhero the world could ask for, one day you will be the next generation of superhero”
She was correct, Peter Parker became a famous superhero before Mysterio crashed it all. But now in this new world, he will try to bring peace to the world, starting by saving Gotham with the help of Tatyana.
“Yes I am ready” he replies energetically. “They said Two-Face was trying to rob the bank two streets away !”
“Then let’s go, shall we ?” says Black Widow as she opens the window.
Spiderman rushes towards before jumping out and swinging to the nearest building, closely followed by his mentor. Less than two minutes they arrived at the scene. All windows and doors were closed with metal store, designed by Wayne Industries and supposed to be indestructible.
“How do we enter ?” asks the youngest.
“How would you do it ?”
Peter takes a moment to think before an idea comes to mind.
“Ventilation! There—“ he points toward a big ventilation grid on the left side of the building.
“We can enter from here and then we… fight them ?” he was unsure of what to do next.
“The vent is a great idea, good job” Black Widow congratulates, patting his head. “However, we need to be careful, it is a bank. Two Faced and its men lust have taken the workers and clients as hostages. We can’t risk them being hurt”.
He nods, before looking at her.
“Let’s enter, and then we will see okay ?” proposes Tatyana.
With that, they both swing toward the left wall of the bank before sticking themselves to it. Spiderman grips the grid with his left hand and rips it open, he then proceeds to throw it away. As always, Black Widow enters first, as she wants to be first in line if there is a problem, she calls it “protecting the young”.
They arrive in an office room, in the right corner of the building, from its windows, they can see people, both armed men and hostages.
“How many do you count ?” she asks.
Spiderman raises his head to see better but he is quickly pushed back down by the oldest.
“No, use your ears, how many hearts do you hear ?”
“13… no 16… three are far away…”
“Good” she pats his head again. He feels proud. “Are any of them strange to you ?”
He thinks, and he listens to them again.
“4 of them are beating quickly, like… like… they are scared! Those are the hostages right ?!”
“Yes, but now, look” she points to the group in front of them, behind the window, in the centre of the bank. “There are only 3 hostages, that means one of them was taken, surely with Two Faces to the vault. Maybe the director”.
“Then what do we do ?”
“We do what we do best, we fight, can you take them down while I protect the hostages?”
He nods. She explains to him that she will drop behind the two hostages, knock them down and protect the victims while he fights the one in the front.
“Spider” she calls him before leaving. “Remember that you have legs, use them”.
Raising her right hand, a web leaves her wrist and she is transported to the ceiling crawling upside down, she arrives above her two targets but she waits for Spiderman to be ready. When she finally sees him in position, she does not wait to drop down, and with two powerful and precise kicks, both of them fall unconscious. She then proceeds to stand in front of the three crouched hostages and protect them from any armed men.
On the other side, Spiderman is doing what was asked of him, he was kicking asses. Man after man begins to drop on the ground unconscious or stuck under his webs.
“And—“ Peter begins fighting another armed man. “The last one is out” He breathes out as the man is stuck into a wall.
“Good job kid” the older woman comes patting his head a few times. “Now we must save the director, the husle must have attracted unwanted attention, we need to be quick. Free the hostages and hide them in the office we came from, I am going to take care of the rest”.
“Are you sure? I can—“
“Don’t worry about me, worry about them, after all when you are caught in a spider web, they eat you alive”
She runs toward the back of the bank where is located the vault, when she disappears from his sight, Spiderman starts to free the victors of Two Faced and his men. The victims are still scared, but they are glad the armed men have been caught.
“Please do not worry, you will be free in a few minutes, Black Widow will kick their asses”
“Who are you ?” Asks a young woman, one of the employees of the bank, named Jessica.
“I am Spiderman—“ the superhero is cut off by the sounds of kicks and guns coming from the back of the building.
But then, the sounds stop, rapidly, he hides the hostages in the office, before hiding above it, on the ceiling, he is ready to fight any enemy coming from the corridor Tatyana left off. Then he hears two people walking towards him, and that is when he notices Tatyana walking with the director.
“So what happened ?” He asks as he jumps down.
“I bit” she smirks.
“Where is Two Faced ?”
“Stuck in the ground—“ the sounds of sirens can be heard. “But he will be found soon enough by the cops, they are coming, time to leave kid”.
They both started to swing toward the vent when they heard.
“Thank you !” From a male hostage, he is crying, happy that today will not be the last one of his life, he will be going home to his daughter and wife.
‘It was good to be back’, they both thought.
The Avengers are back, even if they are only two. They were the remaining superheroes of their universe, and they would do everything in their power to ensure the safety of Gotham’s people.

Two men were watching the cameras of the bank that almost got robbed.
“So you are telling me, we have two new superheroes in town, and they are spiders ?” The younger one says he was tall, dressed in a blue and black superhero costume.
“Yes” the oldest simply responds, he is also curious about those two new individuals.
The older man, dressed in a bat costume, turns off the screen before asking another person, a redhead female in a wheelchair.
“Find anything you can on those two”.
“Will do”
