Spider-Man is Back! Or is he?
“The Spider-Menace problem seems to be growing people! Two years ago a second Spider-Freak joined the original vigilante on his crime spree and now there are sighting of not one but two new Spider themed menace-“ the voice of Spider-Man’s “number one fan” was cut off as Peter told his suits artificial intelligence, Scarlet, to turn it off after hearing the man spout absolute crap on his new Podcast.
”One of these days good ole JJJ might finally retire… or have a heart attack during one his maniacal rants.” Peter jokes as they swing along on patrol.
“One can only hope for the latter.” Miles jokes back. Miles Morales, the other Spider-Man and Peter’s protégé, his Black Suit with red webbing standing out in the sun with much more flare and coolness than Peter ever had.
”Now now Miles, we can’t be putting that stuff into the universe. What would we do without JJJ swaying the public’s opinion?” Peter says tutting at his young partner.
”We’d probably have an easier time working with Police without him spouting lies about us.” Miles points out and Peter agreed, it was a very valid point. Jonah has been hating on Spider-Man since day one for nearly two decades now, spreading misinformation making people less trusting of the friendly neighbourhood heroes.
”Yes, but where would the fun be in that? You ain’t Spidey if your life is easy.” Peter says sprinkling a dash of wisdom on Miles, Peter had been through a lot and learned to roll with the punches, even if he didn’t handle is all well every time. It took a long time to heal and recover from everything that happened with Thanos, he finally was able to take back the name Spider-Man, putting the Scarlet Spider to rest. He ditched the Red and Black suit and went back to the classic Red and Blue colouring with a large White Spider on his chest and back, made up of advance Nano-tech that made us look like normal spandex.
“What are we going to do about those new Spider-People?” Miles asks changing the subject.
”We will keep an eye on them, bring them into the fold if they can be trusted, shut them down if they’re doing more harm than good.” Peter says simple, extending his metal hand to shoot a web to the top of a plain looking red brick building, this normal looking building was the HQ for the Spider-Men in Manhattan, a place Peter set up for them so they didn’t need to be at the Avengers compound so often. “I gotta head to the compound for a bit, I’m taking the bike, you and Ned got patrol yeah?”
”Of course, say hi to Wanda for me.” Miles says before Peter signs off of the comms. Peter gives whole body a stretch before making his way to the secret entrance when suddenly his Spider-Senses started going off like crazy. Peter looked around looking for the threat when he felt his body tingling, he looked to his and saw he was turning transparent.
”Oh god what now!” He yells into the sky before filling disappearing to who knows where.
