Summary
Kurt and Peter go see some crazy stardust in the middle of a winter night.
Note
First time writing, hope everyone likes it !!!!(this was so hard oml)

By the time Kurt had settled into bed, night blooming the fresh flowers of winter, a rapid knock came at his door. He groaned softly, not angrily, but tiredly. He shrugged softly to himself before lazily yelling out;

“Come in..”

And with that, the silver-haired boy burst into his room, fully dressed for some reason, a mysterious glimmer resting in his eyes. Kurt jumped softly at the sudden noise, shrugging back into the bed he had comfortably been lying in as his heartbeat slowed again.

“Kurt, you gotta see this!”

“Was?” His German accent laced with sleepiness let out a soft response, which was really all that Kurt could manage through his tired exterior. He tilted his head innocently before Peter rushed up to him, grabbing him by the arm and softly tugging him. Kurt obliged, smiling softly at Peter before sliding off his bed. He followed Peter, Peter being careful not to use his powers on a very unknowing Kurt. Kurt blinked himself aware, tucking his messy black bangs out of his face at this point. He was only wearing boxers and an oversized shirt. The entire way there Peter had whisper-screamed about how ‘cool this was’ and how Kurt just ‘had to see it’. By the time he had realized where Peter was leading him, he froze, sighing softly in rejection. Peter stopped too, looking back confused.

“Why’d you stop, you okay?”

“Well, It’s kind of cold out… don’t you think?” Kurt responded shyly, biting the inside of his cheek. At this point, they were standing at the X-mansion doors, and before Kurt had said anything, Peter had gotten very close to letting the winter air blow into the mansion. Kurt had never been one to question people, he had always done what he had been told, followed his religion safely, and never really gotten into trouble. So at this point, where his heart thumped loudly in his chest and he bravely said something, he was proud. Peter’s eyes widened, a wave of realization hitting him, he sputtered out a few words before ending quickly with “I’ll be back!” And quickly raced off into the mansion. A few seconds later Peter had arrived back, giving Kurt time to think this through, softly congratulating himself. Peter threw a jacket into Kurt’s arms, smiling widely at him. Kurt put it on without question and admired the boy in front of him. He didn’t mean to- really! It was just how his gorgeous silver hair glimmered in the moonlight and his eyes flashed with mischievous intention- like usual. Kurt felt something, a desire for Peter. He didn’t know what else to call it, he just wanted Peter, selfishly, to be all his. And in his daydream, he hadn’t realized he was staring at Peter until Peter said so.

“You like what you see?” And with that Kurt’s face turned purple in a wave of embarrassment.

“Ah! No, I did not mean to stare! Es tut mir leid!” Kurt muttered quietly, whispering more at himself than at Peter.

“Ah man, you know I don’t speak all that German stuff, but dude it's fine, now hurry up and follow me!” Peter rubbed the back of his head rhythmically, wrinkling up his Pink Floyd t-shirt. He smiled at Kurt, taking him by the hand again and leading him outside. The night was cold, the winter leaving a soft white layer of soft snow on the ground, The trees swayed in the swift wind, making Kurt’s almost bare legs shiver. He had noticed Peter slightly checking him out when he first rolled out of bed, but honestly, he was more worried about what Peter was doing bothering him so late at night. But as Kurt slowly looked up at the night sky Peter had been so restlessly pointing at he saw it. Stardust filled the sky like fireworks. Each particle strewn out so perfectly, perhaps placed by god himself. Kurt stared in awe, his mouth slightly agape, letting his fangs show slightly. His eyes gleamed in the light, and he could almost feel Peter looking at him. When he finally lowered his vision to Peter, he could only smile. He looked into Peter’s almost glowing eyes (which like hey, that’s Kurt’s thing) and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around Peter, but Peter didn’t pull away. Kurt didn’t entirely understand why he hugged him, but he did. And he didn’t regret it. When he finally pulled away he looked at Peter once again, who had a soft grin and an eyebrow raised.

“What was that for?”

“I don’t know.”

A moment of silence was passed between the two for a moment, (which was insane for Peter) both retracting their gaze from each other and back up to the gleaming sight ahead of them.

“Kurt? Uh, do you know why I brought you out here?”

Kurt felt himself repress a snarky comment, perhaps he was spending too much time with the speedster. Instead, he just tilted his head, giving Peter the look of confusion he always did. Peter sputtered some nonsense before sighing, looking at Kurt, and then right away again. Kurt felt his heart begin to beat faster, he swallowed his insecurity as he watched Peter, twiddling his thumbs before once again letting out a long sigh.

“I think I’m in love with you” Peter finally muttered, he looked desperately at some kind of good reaction from Kurt, his eyes twinkling in the lights above.

“Was?” Kurt mumbled, his eyes wide, glowing a dim yellow. Peter looked away quickly, rubbing his temples before going on to explain.

“Jeez, I dunno man, you’re just really cool and nice and pretty. You’re also really smart, I mean I’ve seen your work with Hank before, it’s really impressive. But, most of all, you care so much about others. You’re not a selfish prick like the rest of us here. I dunno man, I just- well I guess, I want to be more than friends?” Peter finally rambled, his eyes fixated on a pebble the entire time. After the buildup, Kurt cleared his throat softly, he couldn’t believe it! His heart was beating way faster than it should’ve been as he quickly thought up a way to tell Peter he felt the same. For once, the speedster the quiet, with nothing but the sound of Kurt’s heart to keep him company.

“I think, well, I think I may love you too.”
