Lovers?

So after shift I went home to get some sleep, and do some grocery shopping I was low on food. Eddie called me saying that he was on his me to me so we can pick up Chris together. We got to Christopher’s school and he was excited to see me in the front seat, then we headed to Eddie’s place. We both helped Chris with his homework with me being more helpfully toward the math and science, and Eddie with the history and English. It took about an hour or so to get it done, then me a Chris went and played some video games and he was surprisingly really good at them. It was about 430pm when Eddie came in and asked what we wanted for dinner.

“Pizza.” Chris said and the both of us giggled waiting to see what his Dad was going to say.

“Sure meat lovers with a side of cheese bread?” Eddie picked up his phone and started dialing the a number.

The pizza arrived 45 minutes later and me and Eddie set the table up and I got the soda from the fridge, and we all sat down and started eating. After about 10 minutes of eating me and Eddie looked at each other and then he cleared his throat.

“Hey bud so I got something to tell you well we got something to tell you.” and I can feel Eddie squeeze my thigh a little.

“Yeah so me Buck are dating, and we wanted to tell you because one you are my son and I don’t want to hide anything from you. Also Buck will be coming around a lot more often, we just want you to be comfortable. So what do you think have any thoughts questions.” Eddie says this and Chris eyes lit up.
“Finally I was wondering when you two would start dating. I glad you’re finally happy again dad. And I glad it’s Buck that makes you happy.” Chris gets up and walks to us.

“You know I could not ask for a better kid. I love you.” And now all three of us are in a group hug and it felt right.

There wasn’t really any dishes to clean just the cups we used paper plates and just threw everything away. We all ended up on the couch watching some movie Chris picked out, Chris was sitting to me left and Eddie was to my right. My arm was around his shoulder with his head resting in the crook of my neck, I was just on my phone going back form games and videos. I see Chris fell sleep at around 8pm and Eddie was still wake so I got up and went to pick Chris up. As I was doing this I tried really hard to not to wake Chris up in the process I get to his room and run into a problem his bed was made so I could put the blanket over him. I was about to turn around to ask Eddie to come in but he was already there and pull the covers out so I can put Chris in, I pulled the covers over him and Eddie gave him a kiss on the fore head.

We walked out of his room quietly and mission success Chris was not awaken. Eddie gets a beer out of the fridge and talked about how the night went great and that we were both glad that Chris took the news well. We sat in the kitchen talking about small stuff like how Eddie loves when his dad would make chilaquiles, he would make them when Eddie was younger and only on special occasions or his birthday. I made a mental note of this then I told him that I always wanted a dog specifically a pit bull, but my parents said no and being a firefight doesn’t really allow pets at home. It was about 10pm and I asked Eddie to drive me home. He said that I should stay over and I said I probably shouldn’t plus I had no clothes here, he said that he would let me use some of his and that Chris would love if I was went with them ti drop him off at school. I folded when he said that Chris would be excited if I went with them so I stayed over, so we went to bed. Eddie’s head was on my chest with my left arm wrapped around his shoulders with his arm over my stomach.

Eddie’s alarm goes off waking both of us up, he wakes up at like 5:30 am so he can make breakfast and get Chris ready for school at 7 am. So I let Eddie wake up Chris while I made breakfast for all of us, and Eddie was very thankful that I was helping he get Chris out the door. It was about 6:30 when we get out the door which was early compared to what Eddie has told me, it must be hectic trying to get him out the door. We all pile in Eddie’s truck and were off to the school we dropped him off, then we get to the we get to the station.

“Two times in a row that y’all carpool, but no marks this time thats a plus.” Hen says laughing

We get ready for the shift and all I was thinking was that I got lucky that I have Eddie now.
