Chapter 3
Four months after Area 51:
“So why is it you wanted to see this of all things?” He says in the back of his mind warmly, a small smile on his face. He remembers being ran out of New York, the memory almost being bittersweet. It doesn’t matter now- they’ll make newer memories . “You want an I heart New York hat?”
The air on the ferry boat smelled of salt and sea, Eddie sat on the bench, afraid that motion sickness will make his already nauseous stomach worse. Venom secretly sticks his tongue out, grimacing at the salty air, making Eddie laugh. “Too much salt makes you sick I’d be careful, love.”
{give us your poor and tired Eddie, we’re not so poor now but you have a big reason to be tired.} the smile was evident in venoms voice and it made Eddie smile bigger, hiding his face in his hand to hide the emotion there, the other hand lightly caressing his stomach. {and yes. I want a hat.} he laughs, a kind tendril stroking his back through his white tee shirt.
“I’ll get you one before we go home.” It finally feels like home after so long, his little apartment is the perfect size for three people until the kids a bit older.
{you take me to all the best places.} Eddie laughs before quietly thanking his lover. {dont get up just yet, you'll get dizzy, darling.}
“Don’t worry I’m not gonna stand until the boat comes to a stop. Don’t need any more morning sickness.” Venom likes to mother hen over his host now, taking tremendous care of him and his unborn child. Eddie thought he’d find it annoying, but it just makes him love the alien more.
{i won't let you get seasick. I'll protect you.} he speaks with such devotion that it makes eddies heart skip a beat, who knew the “lethal protector” role would leak into their new life together?
Eddie looks over to the sky that is turning pink with sunset, face wet with a tear. He lets it flow, not scared to hide it anymore. The symbiote wipes the tear away- a quiet “I love you” following.
“I love you too, venom.” he says it because he can, because venom is still here.
{your mind is racing. What’s the matter?} the kindness in venoms voice is enough to keep him warm as the ferry begins to slow down.
“I just can't believe I finally get to be a dad, I could've lost you, if agony didn't sacrifice herself.” he thinks of area 51, the two of them separated before agony saved them and cries some more.
{we’re ok, Eddie. Nothings going to hurt you again.} Eddie walks to the rail of the boat as the statue of liberty comes into view. {i just want to make every moment unforgettable for you.}
He smiles as he breathes that in, not even wanting to take out his phone.
“You’ve done a good job so far.”
