Chapter 1
It all started in the moon family van, although Eddie thinks it started before all of this.
“Thanks for the shoes and the ride, I’ll pay you back when I get my shit together.” Eddie looks out the window at the vast wasteland that is the miles of desert before Vegas.
“No need. You stay safe, that’s payment enough for me amigo.” Martin moon calls back to him, wide welcoming grin on his face.
Venoms been quiet, not wanting to wake nova and leaf so the ride has been peaceful. He’s taken to sending Eddie what’s been on his mind through their bond.
{it is beautiful out tonight.} he whispers, followed by content clicking and little purrs that Eddie can’t help but find adorable.
“God it is. It’s getting pretty late, no sign of a hotel in sight.” He says through a yawn. “Hey so venom what exactly did you mean earlier, that I could make a good dad?”
His stomach lurched hopefully, for the longest time he’s been so fucked up- keeping his feelings for the symbiote locked up inside. That admission may have gave him the hope he needed for that future he’s been craving- a future with venom.
{you might just hate me for this. You might just make me go.} it’s shaky but certain and it makes Eddie’s eyes glass over with tears. {I don’t want to go, not after all this time.}
“Just tell me please,” even in his head he sounds emotional, broken. “Please venom- whatever this is I can’t let this slip through my fingers like this.”
{we should make a family. We could be happy like this, like Martin.} it’s hopeful, happy and it makes Eddie audibly gasp- martin hearing it.
“Everything ok, Brock?” Martin calls back, softly drumming against the worn leather steering wheel while Eddie gets surprisingly comfortable against the worn leather seat.
“I’m fine. Just thinking about something.” He places his hand against his mouth, blocking the emotions threatening to overcome him.
{thinking about the future? How we could have a life like this?} the purr drips of something that makes Eddie’s cock slowly fill out.
“God when you say things like that. How long has it been, how long have you wanted this?” Eddie needs to know, needs this to be real and not some dehydration mirage- all he can think about is his stomach growing with venoms child. He already feels like he’s glowing even if he’s drenched in sweat and in pain.
{since that talk on the roof of the life foundation. But this, seeing Martin and his family so happy. This made me need it, need you.}
Eddie’s head felt like it did when he got thrown from the plane. He’s panting lightly, he places his hand on the cold glass plane of the window. He rests his head on it, sleep fuzzing at the corner of his eyes.
“I need this too venom. First hotel we see in Vegas we’re staying there. I need to get you alone.”
“It’s getting pretty late, sure you want us taking you all the way to Vegas?” He calls back again, smile warm, welcoming. Eddie shakes off his awkwardness, putting on his reporter attitude- confident and almost cocky. Anything to hide the fact he might be falling apart.
“You might as well take me to Vegas. The only money I have is for the hotel and food. Not wasting it. Plus your heading there too so…” was the last thing he remembered saying before falling asleep.
Hours passed, the symbiote suprisingly quiet- the constant intrusion of his thoughts replaced by words of praise here and there and sweet reassurance.
Around four in the morning the car came to a stop in a hotel parking lot, martin attempting to wake Eddie. He shifts in his seat still sleeping.
{Eddie, we’re here darling. Wake up my love.”} his voice is sweet, warm like the Vegas air and it jolts Eddie awake.
