Chapter 1, Into the Regretevator!
[Builderman]
A round had just ended, and everyone was resting up before the next round. Builderman was sitting outside on the porch, looking off into the forest. He finds it rather calming to say the least, even with the ever looming dread they all feel from the games. The lobby was their unfortunate home.
The man sighed, looking out beyond the impassible invisible wall, out towards the small light in the trees. He has always wondered what the light was, but maybe it was just ambience placed there by the Spectre, he could never be too sure. Tilting his head to the side, he heard the front door of the cabin open. “Heya Builds, Dusekkar, Taph, and I were going to play some off-brand Uno we found, you coming?”
The voice of Shedletsky, while being annoying to some, was familiar and calming to Builderman. He smiled, pushing himself off the railing of the porch. “Alright, but if Taph cheats again I swear to Roblox.”
“I made them promise they wouldn’t cheat this time.” Shedletsky pulls him inside, sitting down on the floor with the others. “Alright we got Builder to join!”
Taph waved at Builderman and signed to him, <I promise I won’t cheat today.>
“Uh huh, sure you won’t, because you said that the last 4 times we played Uno where I didn’t shuffle it and you had every good card.”
<It’s not my fault that my hand just happened to be really good.>
Builderman sighed, grabbing the deck of cards and began to shuffle it. He was always the only one who made sure the cards were fully shuffled before they played, because if he didn’t, someone would put all the good cards in a specific way to get them in their deck. Taph used to do the shuffling, but has since been banned from doing so for this exact reason.
They played more Uno then they thought they would be able to between the rounds, Shed ended up winning the game. “Yes, I won! Oh it feels so good to win this game for once.”
“Your win was brought about by luck, but don’t you think the game should start?” Dusekkar, who has been very quiet due to the competitive nature of their game, questioned, doing his old rhyming bit he started with them back when they started Roblox together.
<That's actually a good point, the round hasn’t started yet. Is this normal?>
Builderman nodded a bit, “Yeah, you wouldn’t have been here the last time this happened, once about every month as we’ve learned the Spectre gives us a full day break, who knows what it's up to.”
“We always just assumed it was thinking of new ideas, but we never see anything that different. I think they’re planning the order of the killers for the month.”
<That sounds stupid even coming from you Shed, from what I can tell the killers are just random, especially when it’s the same one multiple times in a row.>
“Yeah maybe you’re right, but whatever, it's a day we don’t have to fend for our lives!”
“Indeed it is Shed,” Builderman smilied, taking off his hardhat and running fingers through his unkempt gray hair. “So anythin’ else you three wanna do?”
<We could go swimming! I saw bathing suits in one of the closets upstairs.>
“Eh dunno about that Taph, I mean you can if you want to, but Dusekkar’s head has literal fire in it, and Shed doesn’t like getting his wings wet.”
They kept talking, eventually settling on just resting with the others. Builderman and Shedletsky sit on the porch, looking out towards the forest. “You ever wonder what's out there? In the forest I mean.”
“I mean not really, I assume it's just there to fill space and not make this look like an empty skybox, why?”
“I don’t know, something about that light over there is very eerie…”
While looking through the tree-line, 007n7 walks out of the cabin, tilting his head to the side a bit, “What are you two talking about?”
“Oh heya 7, nothin much, just the light in the forest beyond the invisible wall.”
“Oh yeah that, the Spectre and the killers stay in a cabin out that way.”
“How would you know that?”
“Well I can teleport to the other side of it with the c00lgui… here watch this,” The ex exploiter explained, teleporting himself over behind it, teleporting back next to Builder before continuing. “The cabin over there is actually really nice, just goes to show the Spectre likes the killers better.”
7n7 sat down on the stairs of the cabin, looking out towards the cabin with Builderman and Shed. Builderman nodded, it was obvious that the Spectre barely cared about the well being of the survivors, but there wasn’t much they could do about it.
“So, what exactly is that? I assume you guys didn’t see it?” 7n7 noted, pointing towards what seemed like a rift in the fabric of reality.
“Uh… No we had not noticed that, thank you for pointing that out.” Builderman got up and walked over to the rift. “Strange.. What could this possibly be?”
Shedletsky runs over, pulling sword out and stabbing into it, tearing it open slightly, “Maybe it’s a way out!” The rift opens more, revealing what seems to be another kind of lobby, with not much commotion going on inside it. To one side, there seemed to be a gift shop of some sort, and the other side seemed to have some sort of café.
“Should I go tell the others?” 7n7 asked, walking away as Builder nodded, looking back into the lobby. “Shed… is this really a way out?”
“I can’t say for certain, but I think it is.”
The others all run out of the cabin and over to the two admins.
“Is what 7 says true? Has the Spawn really blessed us with a way out!” The cultist Two Time bounced up and down excitedly.
“We believe so, but who knows if it's safe or not.” Builderman put an arm out in front of the rift, stopping anyone from going inside.
<Should I throw a mine in?>
“No Taph don’t do that, if this is a way out we don’t want you to destroy it.”
Builderman pushed his hand through the rift, immediately starting to struggle to keep his feet on the ground. “Shit someone help!” Shedletsky and Taph grabbed onto Builder and started trying to pull him back from the rift, but even they started to lose their balances, soon enough all 9 of the other survivors were trying to pull Builder away from the rift, but then the rift just sucked all 10 of them through. They landed on the red carpet of the lobby with a thud. “Ugh… get off…”
Standing up was a struggle for a moment, considering the weight of 9 other people on top of him, but once he did, looking around left him on edge. The lobby had no one but the 10 in it. A sign pointed towards an empty Elevator, no one was holding it, but it was kind of just floating there.
Chance walked over and inspected the Elevator. “Seems like an elevator, you think it can get us out of here?”
<I’m not too sure, but we can always try!>
“Taph’s right, maybe we’ll find more people!” Noob ran over to Chance who was standing by the elevator. “Come on guys! Let’s go!”
Everyone piles into the elevator, not expecting to be teleported into a pile in the middle of it on the other side.
[Pest]
The elevator was as boring as ever, especially since he was currently the only one floor hopping. Flipping one of the coins he had ‘borrowed’ from Poob, he wasn’t expecting much to happen, but suddenly the elevator was filled with people. They appeared in a pile on the floor, almost as if they weren’t used to the Elevator. ‘Must be more players… hold on that doesn’t seem right… They don’t phase through each other… Those are more Robloxians trapped here… Just great.’
One of the 10 new people groaned, sitting up they had blue hair, white skin, a bunch of scars and what looked like a military uniform on. They looked… unreasonably familiar, like they had seen them before. “Ugh… what the hell… that’s not how an elevator functions…” The blue haired guy said, before standing up.
“I know right, I thought we were supposed to start moving down, not teleporting to a different elevator!” The one with brown hair, and a white shirt said, the back of which had some text on it, something about SFOTH, NULL would probably get along with them.
Looking over the others, two people specifically caught their eye. Someone who looks like Poob without their hat on, and… Is that fucking Builderman??? Staring at the figure with the hard hat, they stood up, being so ungodly short, it was funny honestly. A small snicker escaped their lips drawing attention to themselves.
“Um, Hello? Do you happen to know where we are?” The Poob looking person asked, standing by the one with the blue hair.
“I do, but I don’t know if I want to tell you, most people already know where they are when they get here.”
“We are fully unaware of where we are placed, could you please tell us where we are posthaste?” A pumpkin headed person who was floating above the ground asked in a rhyme? He thought that NULL, Poob and Infected talked weird…
“Well I guess… welcome to the Regretevator… a purgatory of endless floors of minigames, there are a ton of us trapped here… some of us have lived here our whole lives. Me and three others were brought here after we had grown a bit…”
“And what happens to be your name, strange bug fellow?” Builderman asked, looking at him up and down.
“Pest is what they call me, no it's not an insult I prefer it.”
“Well hello then Pest, our names are Builderman, Shedletsky, Dusekkar, Taph, Chance, Two Time, Elliot, 007n7, Noob, and Guest 1337.”
“1337? That can’t be right…”
“Why not?” The blue haired guy, who is called Guest 1337 asks.
“Because that's the name of my younger brother.”
