Chapter 2

Tony opened his eyes to see he was in a white and cold room. His hands were cuffed behind his back. He looked around to see Peter was also in the same room. He was still unconscious, but his hands were chained to the wall rather than being cuffed. Great, absolutely great. Now he was kidnapped and locked in a cell with his enemy. He looked around the room for any escape.

He heard a groan and rattling of chains and was informed that Peter woke up. "Oh god, my head... What the fuck is this place?" he groaned. "Language," said Tony, not because he minded but just for his amusement. Peter rolled his eyes. "Ha ha, who are you, my dad?" said Peter with the same sass. Tony was taken aback by the sudden comeback. Where did he get so much sass from? Tony didn't reply. He watched Peter trying to free his hands from the chain. "Oh shit, they are made up of vibranium they know my true identity," gasped Peter. Tony saw Peter being afraid for the first time. "It's all your fault we were in that alleyway because of you, and then I got distracted by you," hissed Peter. Tony glared at him with indignation. "My fault. It was your stupid idea to talk there. I was comfortable in that coffee shop, and how did I distract you? I told you to look behind, but you didn't," hissed Tony. Peter huffed at him. "And you crashed my plane in the first place," continued Tony. Peter glared at him. "Because you were exporting dangerous weapons, do you have any idea how many lives are destroyed by them?" said Peter. "Why do you care anyway?" said Tony. "Because I lost my family because of those fucking things because of you," spat Peter. Tony went silent for a moment. He felt something heavy in his heart, which he chose to ignore. So Peter no longer had a family; that's why he had to work at a coffee shop. "Look, I'm sorry for your family, but you can't blame me. I just give them weapons; it's not my responsibility how they use them," said Tony. "You are hopeless," gritted Peter.

There was silence for a while. The only sound that could be heard was their breathing and the rattle of chains. The door flung open to reveal a blond man with a sadistic smile. "Wow, it's like buy one, get one free," said the man, glancing between Tony and Peter. "You are that idiot's brother, aren't you?" spat Peter. The man gave him a stern look. "You destroyed his life, and now I will destroy yours," said the man. Peter huffed. "Who the fuck are you?" asked Tony in a calm voice. "Looks like everybody is charged up today. Well, I'm Tyler; pleasure to meet you, Stark you will be our great help," said Tyler. "You want to destroy his life, so why am I here?" said Tony, ignoring the glare from Peter. "Because you got in the way, but don't worry, Stark, we don't have anything against you, so we will let you go if you help us," said Tyler. "And how can I help you?" sassed Tony. "My brother was also a weapon dealer of alien technology, but this kid interfered in our plans and got my brother in jail," said Tyler, glaring at Peter. "Yeah, he is a pretty interfering kid believe me, I know," said Tony, glancing at Peter, who scoffed at him. "Looks like you two will get along well, Mr. Stark; I can sense something common," mocked Peter.  Tony ignored him. "Well, I'm a scientist, and I want to experiment on him," Tyler pointed at Peter. "You know I want to know about his DNA, and I want you to help me," said Tyler calmly. Tony was surprised. He glanced at Peter, who was now looking genuinely scared now. "Well, I can't help you with that biochemistry was never my area of expertise," said Tony, trying to sound casual. "I know stark, but you have a medical degree, don't you, and you also excel in physics," said Tyler. Tony was confused. "Look, Stark, I said I didn't have anything against you, but my cousin sure does," said Tyler, and to Tony's horror, Michael came into view. "Long time no see, Stark. Is it just a coincidence that we meet again?" said Michael. What the actual fuck. "Can't say it's a pleasure," sneered Tony. "Looks like your whole fucking family is a bunch of arseholes," laughed Peter. Tony couldn't help smirking. He was impressed. "Shut your mouth, kid, before I just shut it forever," said Tyler. "So what exactly do you want? Just tell me quickly so I can get out of here," said Tony. "You have to help me in reactivating the alientech weapons that got disabled due to this spider," said Michael. "I will also need your help later till then, enjoy your time," said Tyler. They closed the door.

"Looks like you got your dream job," said Peter. Tony glared at him. "Can't you ever shut it? This big mouth of yours will get you in serious trouble one day," said Tony. Peter rolled his eyes. "I'm going to leave you here only when I escape," said Peter. Tony huffed. "Same here, bug," said Tony. There was a moment of silence. "Oh shit," gasped Peter. Tony was startled. "Now what?" he asked. "I forgot to do my homework, and I haven't read a single word for my Spanish test. I'm totally going to fail it," rambled Peter. Tony gave him a 'like seriously' look. But Tony was reminded that Peter was still a kid. "I think you really need to sort out your priorities, kid. You are kidnapped here, and you are freaking out about homework and tests," said Tony. Peter tugged at his chains but gave up eventually. "Are you really going to help him?" asked Peter quietly. Tony looked up at him. "Well, I have to; I don't want to stay here with a bug enemy," said Tony. Peter sighed. "Mr. Stark, you are not a bad person, and also you are hella intelligent, so why don't you use them for a good reason?" said Peter. Tony looked into Peter's eyes, which were full of sincerity. "You know money and fame aren't everything; the main thing is respect. Take the example of Spiderman: he neither has money nor fame, but people respect him. I don't think you really want the world to remember you as the merchant of death," said Peter. Tony was thrown off guard. These words were having some weird effect on him. He just stared at Peter processing his words.

The door flung open. "Time to go spidey," said Tyler. Peter backed away. "You better stay away from me," shouted Peter. Tyler smirked as he came closer to him with a needle. Peter kicked the needle out of his hands. He tugged at his hands harder. The chain got separated from the wall but was hanging down Peter's wrists. "How..." gasped Tyler. "The last part, which was connecting it to the wall, was iron, you idiot," spat Peter as he punched Tyler harshly. Michael came inside and went towards Peter, but Tony made him trip by sticking out his leg. "Enough is enough," shouted Tyler as he wrapped the chains that were hanging from Peter's wrist around his neck. Peter struggled violently against the hold. Tony felt his heart stinging strangely, urging him to protect. Peter was gasping for breath, and his eyes were watering. He stopped struggling and went limp. Tony felt his heart stopping at the sight. "Just passed out. Take him to the experiment room," said Tyler. Tony sighed in relief. At least he was alive. But why did it matter to him if he wasn't his enemy, and he barely knew him? Michael turned to Tony. "You ready?" he asked. Tony was still looking at the door. He turned towards Michael confidently. "I guess not," said Tony.

This got him electrocuted 5 times, but he found himself caring more about Peter. You better stop right there; you are being overpowered with some stupid emotions. He is your enemy and a complete stranger; don't get attached. All his resolve dissolved the moment the door opened and Peter was thrown roughly on the floor. Tony caught him before he could hit the ground. Peter looked at him with surprise; Tony averted his gaze; he himself was surprised. He let go of him quickly. Peter was looking very weak. His wrists and ankles were oozing blood, probably from struggling. The chain mark was still there around his neck. His lips were split. He was looking so young.. he might be Spiderman but he's still a child.

"How are you doing there, bug?" asked Tony, trying to bury the concern in his voice, which was still evident. "Totally enjoying myself," said Peter with sarcasm. "What did they do to you?" asked Tony. Peter raised his eyebrows. "I'm just asking so that I can get to know about their potential it's not like I care or something, so don't give me that look," added Tony quickly. "I see... they just injected a drug and then took my blood sample many times... the drugs are making me weak, but my body will get rid of it in 24 hours. They really are a bunch of idiots," said Peter. Tony nodded thoughtfully. Peter looked at Tony. "So what did they do to you for refusing to help?" said Peter. Tony looked at him confusingly. "How do you know I refused?" asked Tony. Peter chuckled weakly. "I kinda guessed it; I know you are not a complete asshole," said Peter. Tony was taken aback again. He coughed significantly. "I will take that as a compliment, but why do you care?" asked Tony playfully. Peter huffed. "Who said I care? I just want to know about their potential," said Peter. Tony smiled to himself. This kid was really something. "Well, nothing much, just electrocuted me 5 times," said Tony, trying to sound casual. Peter looked at him with concern but looked away quickly. "I think you are okay now," said Peter in an I don't care voice, but the hidden "Are you okay? was not missed by Tony. "Yeah, I am," said Tony, smiling slightly.

They sat in comfortable silence. This kid is the first person who dared to talk to him like this, and Tony even allowed him to. There was something in him. "So, um, do you live alone?" asked Tony. "Yeah, well, I have to. My family died in Sokovia," said Peter. Tony felt that heavy feeling again. Sokovia, that incident will perhaps follow him everywhere. "I'm sorry... umm, so, well, you work in that coffee shop," asked Tony, diverting the topic. "Yeah, part-time job, and you know it's wrong to stalk someone," said Peter. "It's not wrong to stalk your enemy," retorted Tony. Peter rolled his eyes. Tony didn't know why, but the word enemy was not fitting right. "Kids these days should concentrate on their assignments and should be busy doing drugs or, sex." Peter glared at him, blushing at the same time, which amused Tony. This kid swore most of the time and is now blushing at this. "So my point is why do you do this Spider-Man stuff?" continued Tony. Peter looked directly at him. "Because I have to. Fate has given me this power to do something, not just to waste it," said Peter. Tony caught the way these words were directed at him. Peter sighed. "Look, if you have the power to do something but you don't do it, and then some bad things happen, then they happen because of you... with great powers come great responsibility, Mr. Stark," said Peter. This hit Tony like a truck. Peter was so childish and mature at the same time. Oh god, this kid was too pure and innocent for the world. Now he felt slightly guilty. Those words forced him to think about what he was doing with his life. Fate had given him power, but he was using it in the wrong way. "Well said, kid," said Tony after recovering from those words. "I always admired you for your intelligence. I think you should use it wisely," said Peter.

Tony didn't reply instead, he just looked at his hands. "So what's the plan?" asked Tony after a while. "The lock is made up of vibranium, so our only chance is when someone opens the door, so any plan will consist of 99% risk," said Peter. "Sounds great," said Tony sarcastically. Peter tried to stand up but fell back on the ground. Tony immediately rushed to his side. "What the hell are you doing?" said Tony, but concern was evident in his voice. Peter was breathing heavily. "Hey kid, are you okay? What's wrong?" asked Tony. "That stupid drug," said Peter in between his heavy breathing. Tony adjusted Peter to sit against the wall. He was still panting for breath. "Water...water," whispered Peter. Tony immediately reached for Peter's bottle, which was given to them. It was empty. Tony cursed under his breath. He instead reached for his own. It was his last bottle and had little water in it, and giving this to Peter would mean no water for that day. They only got one bottle per day each. Tony didn't think twice. "Here, kid, drink this," said Tony, helping Peter to drink it. Peter calmed down a bit. "Why don't you close your eyes and try to rest for a while? It will help you feel better," said Tony. Peter nodded slightly and obeyed. Tony sat next to him, listening to his even breaths. He felt a weight on his shoulder. He looked down to see Peter sleeping on his shoulder peacefully. Tony looked at him fondly and couldn't help thinking he was cute. A sudden warm feeling erupted in his heart, which he couldn't point out. He shook his head to clear these thoughts. He rested his head against the wall and drifted into sleep.

He woke up the next morning with a backache. He looked at his side to see Peter still sleeping, snuggled close to him. "Hey kid, I'm done being your pillow; now wake up. My hand has gone numb," said Tony. Peter groaned and opened his eyes slowly. He looked around confusedly. He looked at Tony and jumped away from him. Tony rolled his eyes and gave him an amused look. Peter was looking anywhere but at him. His cheeks were flushed. "Uhh, well, sorry for last night; I must be really out of it, haha," said Peter. "Yeah, and you should add thank you also," said d Tony. Peter rolled his eyes. "Thank you, Mr. Stark," sassed Peter. The door flung open. "Today we have a surprise for you," said Tyler. "And what is it?" sneered Tony. "Today we will play a game of choices, so you have 3 options, Spidey," said Tyler. Peter glared at him. "I thought I was also a part of it," joked Tony. "Don't worry, Stark; we will break you and force you to help us with that alien technology," said Michael, joining them. "So yeah, you have 3 choices: you will be locked in a refrigerator, or you will be in a room with a tank overhead with a hole in it, or dissection without anaesthesia," said yler. Peter gasped, and now the fear was evident in his face. Tony also sucked in a breath. This was insane; they can't do this to a kid. "I thought you wanted him alive," said Tony. Michael chuckled. "We want both of you dead. We are just having some fun, sweet revenge. We will torture you to your death. How does that sound?" said Michael. "You have 10 minutes to think," saying this, they left the room.

Tony looked at Peter, who was still looking at the door. "Kid, we need to find a way out of this. There's no way you can do this," said Tony. Peter buried his face in his hands. He was shaking. Tony knew that he was crying and was trying to hide this from Tony. After a moment he looked up at Tony. "There's no way out of this," snapped Peter. Tony could feel his heart pacing up. He was panicking, and his heart clenched by looking at those brown eyes, which were glistening with tears. Tony found himself holding Peter's hands, who looked up at him in confusion. "Everything will be alright; we will get through this," said Tony sincerely. I'm with you, and I will make sure you will be alright was hidden in his sentence. Peter smiled slightly and wiped his eyes. The door opened, and they both flinched. "I think I ruined the moment," said Tyler. Tony stood in front of Peter protectively and tightened his grip on his hands. "I guess you have not made a choice, so I will choose myself, Michael. Take him," said Tyler. Michael dragged Peter away from Tony. "No, Peter, you better leave him alone," hissed Tony. Peter was struggling against his hold. "I see you have started to care about him. Why don't we bring you along to enjoy the show?" said Tyler. Tony froze. There was no way he could watch whatever the hell they were going to do to Peter.

They chained Tony to a chair. In front of him was a glass room with a tank overhead. Tony gasped and struggled against his hold. Peter was just a few meters away from him separated by a glass pane , looking scared and young, frantically searching for an escape. Water was filling the room rapidly. Tony was panicking now. "Let him go; he is just a kid, please," pleaded Tony. This was the first time he pleaded to someone, and the strange thing was it was not for himself but for his sassy teenage enemy, Spider. "You look good while pleading; you should do it often. I guess you will," said Michael. The water was above his knees now. Peter was banging the glass desperately. Tony's heart broke at this. "Please let him go. I will do anything. You can take me instead; just let him go," said Tony, surprising himself. This was all coming naturally to him.The man just smirked. The water had risen till his neck. Peter stopped struggling. He just looked at Tony with tear-filled eyes. Tony could feel tears in his own eyes, which was new; he had never cried in front of others. Peter placed a hand on the glass, still looking at Tony as if seeking support and comfort. Tony placed his own chained hands against the glass where Peter's hands were only a glass apart as if giving him comfort. It was the least he could do. "I'm here only a kid; I'm with you," he whispered. Tears fell from their eyes as brown eyes looked at each other. "What an emotional scene," said Michael. Tony ignored him; he was just looking at Peter. The water level rose above his head, and he was lifted from the ground, his hands slipping away from the glass. "No, Peter, just let him go, please," cried Tony. He didn't care that he was crying openly; all that mattered was Peter. Tony watched as Peter struggled. Tony's heart shattered when he saw Peter stop struggling and his body go limp. He arched back and settled down at the bottom of the room. His brown curls floating peacefully.

Tony looked away and closed his eyes to control the tears. Tyler pressed a button and the water started levelling down. Michael dragged Peter's lifeless body out of the room. They unchained Tony. Tony rushed towards Peter and frantically started searching for a pulse. He breathed in relief when he found one. "We will give you some time together, then it will be your turn," said Michael, closing the door. Tony ignored them. He cupped Peter's face in his hands. "Hey kid, it's time to wake up. Now open your brown eyes for me. I know you have them; they are just like me," said Tony, pushing some wet curls away from his face. He pressed his hands on his chest.

Tears were still streaming down his face. Peter started coughing. Tony turned him on his side. Peter opened his eyes slowly; he was still panting and gasping for breath. "Mr. Stark..." croaked Peter. Tony wiped his tears away. "Yeah, kid, I'm right here. It's alright now. You are okay," said Tony. Peter rested his head against Tony's chest, listening to his fast heartbeat. Tony was surprised by this, but he wrapped an arm around Peter's shivering body. "I'm just cold, so don't think otherwise," said Peter. Tony chuckled in relief. "I also want a dying spider on me. I want you to see when I will escape, leaving you here alone," said Tony. Peter chuckled weakly. They both know the real intentions and the real meaning behind those words.

They separated away. "Are you crying, Mr. Stark?" mocked Peter. This kid nearly died, and he has the audacity to joke and ask me this question. "No, I'm not," said Tony, wiping away his tears. Peter chuckled. He curled up to himself and shivered weakly. "Are you cold, kid?" asked Tony. "Yeah, the water was just the liquid form of ice," said Peter. "But water is really the liquid form of ice," said Tony. Peter rolled his eyes. "You know what I mean," said Peter. Tony looked at him with concern. He removed his jacket and threw it at Peter. Peter looked at him in confusion. "Wear it, kid; you need it more than me right now," said Tony. Peter smiled slightly and wore the jacket. It was big for him. His hands were hidden, and Tony can't help thinking that he looked adorable. He shook his head again to clear the thoughts. The door opened, and Michelle came in. "Time to go stark," said Michael. Peter shuffled to his feet. "Where are you taking him?" gritted Peter. He was not able to stand on his own, so he was leaning against the wall. "Just for a little fun," said Michael. Tony huffed. Michael forced him outside the room. "No, no, Mr. Stark, leave him alone, Mr. Stark," he could still hear Peter shouting. He was strapped to the electric chair. He tried to distract himself from the pain. He could still hear Peter shouting and banging the wall from the next room. He could hear his own screams. "Please let him go, please, Mr. Stark. I will do anything just to let him go," he could hear someone crying these words. Peter was crying...for him. The irony was that he was saying the same words just a while ago.

He was thrown roughly on the floor. He could feel someone holding his hand. He felt a finger pressing on his neck. "Mr. Stark, please open your eyes, Mr. Stark, please." Someone was crying. "Wake up; try to open your eyes." He felt sprinkles of water on his face. He knew that voice; it was familiar. Peter. It was Peter's voice. He was shaking him. "Goddammit, wake up!" shouted Peter. Tony opened his eyes slightly to see Peter was crying in his hands. "Language kid," joked Tony. Peter looked up at him. "Oh thank god," breathed Peter in relief. Tony tried to sit up. Peter passed him water. Tony raised his eyebrows. "I just don't want an arrogant billionaire dying on me. I want you to see me escape, leaving you here alone," said Peter in the same way as Tony. Tony smiled at this. "Are you crying?" asked Tony, mocking him. Peter wiped away the tears. "No, I'm not. It's just water," said Peter. Tony rolled his eyes but smiled. "Do you know how to fly a helicopter?" asked Peter. Tony blinked at him in confusion. "Well, yes," said Tony. "Good, because I have a plan," said Peter. "What? They have a helicopter here?" asked Tony. "Yeah, so the plan is when they open the door, I will distract them to fight, then you will sneak out of the room, grab my web shooters, and rush to the terrace. There's a helipad, then I will come there and jump inside the helicopter, and we will fly away. How does that sound?" said Peter. Tony stared at him for a second. "Oh, wait, how do you know there's a helicopter there?" asked Tony. Peter rolled his eyes. "Because we are not in New York, we are somewhere far away from there, and they brought us here in it only," said Peter. "I thought you were totally out of it," said Tony. "The drug took time to kick in, so I remember it," said Peter. "But how will you fight two of them at once?" said Tony. Peter raised his eyebrows. "Well, I'm Spider-Man, and why do you care? I thought you were planning to leave me here," said Peter. "Well, I don't care much; it's just I will need your help to navigate, you know," said Tony. "Yeah, whatever. It will be okay. My strength is back, and I can fight them for a while. I just have to get past them," said Peter. "No, we are not doing this; it's too risky. Anything can go wrong," said Tony. "We don't have a choice, Mr. Stark. God knows what their next torture will be, and I don't know about you, but I'm definitely not enjoying this," said Peter in an exasperated voice. Tony sighed. "Let me think about it so that I can improve it," said Tony. Peter nodded.

They sat in complete silence for almost an hour. "This is so boring; they should at least put a TV in here," said Peter. Tony gave him a strange look. "Have you watched Star Wars, Mr. Stark?" asked Peter. "No, I haven't," said Tony. Peter gasped dramatically. "You haven't watched Star Wars? I thought most of the people had watched them, especially the old ones," said Peter. "Did you just call me old?" said Tony more dramatically. Peter smirked. "Yeah, you didn't know this," said Peter. "You better take that back, or you will be grounded till you are 50," the words left his mouth before he could think twice about them. Peter looked at him in surprise before looking away. "Jokes on you for grounding me; you have to be my dad," said Peter, trying to sound casual, but the emotions were evident in his voice. Tony mentally slapped himself. He hadn't realised what he had said; it just came out naturally. Where did that come from? He laughed nervously. "Yeah, I was just joking anyway," said Tony. "Have you watched Harry Potter?" asked Tony, trying to change the topic. "Whoa, Tony Stark had watched Harry Potter; that's awesome," said Peter. Tony rolled his eyes. "Can't I watch movies?" he said indignantly. "No, you can. It's just I just can't imagine you watching a movie anyway," Peter continued, ignoring Tony's glare. "I love Harry Potter; it's my favourite. Harry is my favourite character; I can relate to him the most. You know I cried for 2 hours when Sirius died," said Peter, though Tony had not asked him. "Yeah, his death was the most tragic and the saddest," said Tony. "Yeah, it is. Harry never got a chance to have a family. I think his story is somewhat similar to mine. His parents died when he was one; mine too, in a plane crash," said Peter. Tony was startled by the sudden change of mood. "But I still had my aunt and uncle, like Harry had Sirius and Remus, his last hope of a family, but they died... in Sokovia... I was 10," said Peter with a sad smile. Tony sucked in a breath. Don't tell me this kid has been living on his own since he was 10. "We both had some responsibility. I just wish Sirius never died and they had the chance to fulfil that broken promise," said Peter. His eyes were glistening from unshed tears. Now Tony felt guilty. His respect for Peter increased. He was brave and strong. He went through so much but still had that bright smile and fight to live in him. This motivated Tony. "Harry is my favourite character too," said Tony, and u r my favourite was hidden in it. Peter smiled slightly. They talked about random stuff..favourite colour, Disney movies, school , and science. They both eventually got tired and fell asleep.

Tony woke up the next day to see Peter sleeping against him. His head lying on his chest and his hands wrapped around his waist, and his one leg was over Tony's. Tony again felt a weird sensation in his heart. It was a warm feeling. He couldn't help smiling and running a hand through his soft brown curls. This felt nice, almost parental. He quickly snapped back to his senses. God, this kid was doing something to him...making him soft and feeling weird emotions. It was like magic; he barely knew him a few days ago and considered him an enemy, but now he was getting attached to him. He was getting wrapped around this spider's web. He didn't want to get attached. Attachments are humans biggest weakness. He tried to clear his thoughts away, but one look at Peter dissolved his resolve. Get a grip on yourself, Stark. "Wakey wakey, kid, you can't just keep using me as your cuddling pillow," said Tony. Peter groaned and, instead of waking up, snuggled closer to Tony. "Five more minutes, Dad," mumbled Peter. God, again those warm feelings in my heart...overwhelming emotions...this was getting too much...he couldn't handle this...fuck emotions...this kid... He was trying too hard to not think about that whole dad thing, and this kid was forcing him to that point. He cleared his throat to get rid of the emotions. "Five minutes are over, and it's time to wake up for spider babies," said Tony. Peter shifted away slightly and rubbed his eyes groggily. He looked at Tony and immediately jumped away from him. He was blushing furiously, which Tony found both amusing and cute. His curls were sticking up in all directions, which Tony had a weird urge to settle. "Uhh, I just get a little bit clingy when I'm sleepy," said Peter, laughing nervously. Tony found this adorable. "Clingy spider," commented Tony, gaining a half-hearted glare from Peter.

The door flung open, and Peter flinched slightly. "Ready for today's game?" asked Michael. "Can't say we really are," said Tony, just wanting to punch their teeth off. "Guess you don't really have a choice, but today's a gift for you... You both have to enjoy the same torture at the same time," said Tyler with a sadistic smile. Peter and Tony shared a look. "So how does freezing to death sound?" said Michael.

They were locked in a refrigerator. The temperature was in the negative. They had only one jacket, which currently Peter was wearing. Peter proceeded to remove the jacket. "Hey, Underoos, keep it on," said Tony, stopping him. "But you also need it, Mr. Stark," said Peter. This self-sacrificing attitude. "So do you, so keep it on," said Tony. "But it's your jacket," said Peter, definitely not giving up. "And I gave it to you, so you are wearing it. Case dismissed," said Tony. "Oh, we will wear it in turns. I will give it to you when you are cold and vice versa," said Peter. Tony showed a thumbs-up sign because he knew he couldn't win this. They sat in silence for almost half an hour.Tony looked at Peter. He was looking pale, and his cheeks were red, and he was shivering violently. Tony was also cold, but he was not shivering yet. "Hey kid, how are you doing there?" asked Tony. "Awesome, just waiting to become a human ice cream," said Peter sarcastically. Tony's concern was evident in his eyes. Peter sighed. "I just... spiders can't thermoregulate," said Peter. Tony gasped and shuffled closer to Peter. "And you are telling this now," hissed Tony, wrapping one arm around Peter. This was all coming naturally. Peter gave in to the warmth and buried his face in Tony's shirt. "This is not a hug, Mr. Stark. I'm just cold," mumbled Peter. "Same here, kid," said Tony.
After some time, Tony also started shivering. He could feel the weight in his arm getting heavier. "Hey kid, you there?" said Tony. Peter hummed in response. "Just stay awake, alright? Keep your eyes open, okay? Don't close them," said Tony urgently as Peter's eyes were already drooping. "I'm tired, Mr. Stark," mumbled Peter. Tony was now panicking. "Hey, you can't sleep. Please just stay awake. I know you can do it. You are Spiderman. We have to get through this. Remember that plan," said Tony. Peter nodded slightly. Tony pressed a finger on Peter's neck, and his panic increased when he felt it was slow and irregular. "Kid, keep talking to me, c'mon," said Tony. There was no response. Peter's eyes were closed. "No, no, kid, snap out of it. This is not the best place to sleep; just fucking stay awake," said Tony, shaking Peter. There was still no response. Tears were already stinging in his eyes. "Goddammit, kid, wake up! You can't do this to me, not now. I can't lose you now," shouted Tony, shaking Peter by his collar. Peter opened his eyes slightly. "Good kid, now please just stay awake. You can't sleep now, or you will never be able to wake up again," said Tony, his voice heavy from emotion. He wiped his eyes. He needed to do something. "Hey kid, give me the jacket for a moment," said Tony. Peter got alerted by this. "You are cold... your turn, Dad," mumbled Peter, removing his jacket and giving it to Tony. Tony swallowed the emotions and wore the jacket, welcoming the extra warmth. He held Peter close to him so that both were covered by the jacket, and he zipped it closed. Peter's head was rested just above his heart. His hand wrapped around him. Tony held him tightly, ignoring the cold skin. He buried his face in those brown curls. Is this what it feels like to be a dad? Perhaps yes. He can no longer ignore the warm and weird feeling in his heart. "Your heart is beating fast," mumbled Peter. "Yeah, because a certain spider is playing with it," said Tony. He shook his head. No, this has nothing to do with feelings or attachments. This was just survival instincts. His mind was numbing. He looked down at Peter, whose lips were a slight tinge of blue. He wanted to tell him to stay awake, but he couldn't speak. He heard someone opening the door and someone laughing. Someone separated Peter from him. He wanted to stop them but didn't have the strength to. He closed his eyes.

He opened them to see he was back in the same cell. Peter was lying next to him. His lips were no longer blue, but he was unconscious. Tony removed his jacket, which for some reason had become his favourite, and wrapped it around eter. Tony ran his fingers through the curls. He looked so young. He is just a kid still in high school; he surely doesn't deserve all this.
Peter woke up to see Tony sitting with his head leaned against the wall. "Mr. Stark, are you okay?" croaked Peter. Tony opened his eyes and smiled slightly. "Never better. What about you?" asked Tony. "Fine," said Peter. "Um, thanks," said Peter. "For what?" asked Tony, trying to sound oblivious. "Um, for being there with me, I'm glad I'm here with you. It's better than being alone, at least," said Peter. Tony smiled. "Don't mention it, kid," said Tony. "I was scared. It was so cold. I don't want to die, not like this," said Peter. His eyes were full of tears, and it broke Tony's heart. "You will not die, kid; we will get out of here," said Tony. "But if I died, will you visit my grave?" asked Peter. The question was asked so bluntly that Tony gasped. The only thought of this stabbed him in the heart. He blinked back some tears. Now when he thinks about this, he is sure that if Peter died, he would also die. He shook his head. "No, I will not. I don't want the ghost of a spider haunting me for the rest of my life, and secondly, no one is dying," said Tony, though what he meant to say was that he will not visit his grave because he will be lying next to him.

They were ready with their plan, and it was time for execution. "Are you sure about this?" asked Tony. "Dead sure," said Peter. "Just try not to die," said Tony, trying to joke, but the fear was evident in his voice. "I don't want to die, so if any situation happened, I will save myself first," said Peter. "Me too. We are still enemies, so don't forget that," said Tony. Peter crawled up in the wall just above the door. The door opened. Peter kicked both Michael and Tyler at once. Tony didn't have time to see the whole fight. He ran outside the room. He passed the torture room, shuddering at the memory. He picked up the webshooters and a gun. He was confronted with two other men. One of them attacked him. He wasn't prepared, so he didn't defend. He broke at least one of his ribs, and his ankles were sprained. He shot the two men. He ran towards the helicopter and started it. He looked around for Peter. He saw Peter running towards him, dodging bullets. "Pass me the webshooters and help me," yelled Peter. Tony threw the webshooter at him, which Peter caught. Tony fired shots at them; one of them hit Michael. Peter was fighting Tyler.

One of the bullets hit Tony's left arm. He gasped in pain. He fired at Michael again, which killed him. Tony was out of bullets. He rushed towards Peter to help him. Tyler tried to fire at them, but Peter knocked the gun out of his hands. The helicopter was in the air now. Peter brought it down by his webshooters. "Get inside, Mr. Stark, quickly!" shouted Peter. Tony started going towards it when he heard Peter. "Look out, Mr. Stark!" shouted Peter. Tony turned back to see Tyler was coming towards him with a knife. He didn't have time to react. Before he could even understand this completely, he saw Peter jumping in front of him. Time seemed to be going in slow motion."noo," cried Tony. Peter gasped in pain. Tyler withdrew the knife, and Peter stumbled forward. Peter kicked Tyler away from himself. Peter turned towards Tony and pushed him inside the helicopter. "No, Peter, you can't do this," shouted Tony. Tony wiped his tears and believed in his hopes. He is a strong kid; he will make it out of this. Peter just had to jump a little distance to get inside the helicopter. Peter braced himself to jump. "C'mon, kid, quick," shouted Tony. They were on the 38th floor, so this made things a lot more risky. Peter was interrupted as Tyler attacked him again. Tony cursed. They were fighting on the edge of the building. Tony was losing so many years of his life. Worst place to fight ever.

Tony's heart almost stopped when, once, Peter stumbled slightly before regaining balance. Tony had forgotten about his arm completely. Peter managed to knock him down but not before he was stabbed once again. Peter fell on his knees. "Kid, just come to me. You will be alright; I promise this is the last level," shouted Tony desperately. Peter tried to stand up. Tony brought the helicopter nearer to the building. He reached his hand forward towards Peter. "C'mon, kid, just a little more," said Tony encouragingly. Peter took a deep breath and made a jump. He grabbed Tony's hands. He was now off his feet, and they were hanging in the air. Tony grabbed Peter's hands with all his strength. His injured arm was protesting, but there was no way he was letting go. Peter was also trying to get inside. "Just try to come inside and use your spider powers," shouted Tony. "I'm trying," shouted Peter. Peter looked down and whimpered. He looked at Tony. "Hey, don't look down; just look at me. You will be alright; I promise," said Tony, but tears were flowing down his own cheeks. Peter's hold was loosening, which induced panic in Tony. "Hey, don't you dare let go, Peter, or I swear I will kill you," shouted Tony.

He pulled Peter inside using most of his strength. Both sat for a while panting for breath. "Let's never do that stunt again," said Tony. He looked at Peter. He was losing too much blood. "Fuck, just stay awake, kid; you are safe now," said Tony, cupping his face in his hands. Peter managed a nod. Tony tore a part of his shirt and pressed it on the wounds. Peter cried in pain. "I'm sorry; I know it hurts. Just keep pressing on the wounds," said Tony as he went away to change the direction. He returned back quickly. "Why the hell did you take a knife for me? Are you insane?" shouted Tony in frustration. "I lied before. I think I have been lying a lot lately," said Peter. Tony chuckled in between his tears. "Me too, kid," said Tony, pushing some curls back from his face. "I'm tired," mumbled Peter. Tony held Peter close to him as if his life was dependent on him. "I know, but you can't sleep now, so don't you dare just a little longer," cried Tony. "Your heart is beating fast, mumbled Peter. Tony let out a cry. "Yeah, and I'm losing a lot of years of my life," said Tony. Peter brushed a hand against Tony's cheeks. "Are you crying, Mr. Stark?" mumbled Peter. "Yeah, I am because of you, so stop scaring me like this," cried Tony. "Guess you will visit my grave now," mumbled Peter with a faint smile. His eyes were half-opened. Dread crept up Tony's heart. "No, no, you are not dying. If you died, I would not visit your grave; I would be lying next to you," shouted Tony. He can no longer deny those emotions. Peter opened his eyes at this. "I love you," said Peter. "I love you too, Pete; I really do, but we are not doing last words, so just stay awake; we are nearly there," said Tony frantically. Peter used his last bit of strength to rest his head against Tony's chest. Tony welcomed those warm and weird feelings in his heart and made no attempt to push them away. He peppered kisses over Peter's forehead. His arm was stinging painfully, but he ignored it. "Just a little longer. Hang in there, kid. I'm here with you," said Tony. "I'm sorry, Dad, I love you," breathed Peter before closing his eyes.

"No, no, no, wake up! You can't do this to me, not now, not ever," cried Tony. If the situation was not so serious, then Tony might have froze from hearing those words. Peter lay still and lifeless in Tony's arms. He was not breathing, not even a single pulse. This can't be happening. He could see the stark tower, but he couldn't move. "I love you too," whispered Tony. Yeah, he really loved this idiot kid and couldn't imagine a world without him. Tony's head felt dizzy from the blood loss. He could not breathe. How could he when Peter was not? A tear rolled down his cheek, and he drifted into unconsciousness.
Tony woke up to see he was in a familiar room. It was medbay. His left arm was paining slightly. He looked around confusedly when the memories of the previous events hit him like a train. Peter had died in his arms. He sat upright. "You need to stay calm," said a doctor. "Where's Peter? I need to see him." Where's he?" shouted Tony. "He is alright in the next room, but..." Before anyone could stop him, Tony was running to the next room. He opened the door and saw Peter lying on the bed. He clamped a hand on his mouth in relief as he saw the heart monitor beeping. Peter was alive and alright. He sat next to him. "He will be alright; we had to bring him back; we lost him for 3 minutes," said Helen. Tony pressed a hand above Peter's heart and felt it beating. It was the most beautiful thing in the world. He held Peter's hand in his own and kissed them. "You are safe and will be alright; everything will be alright now," whispered Tony. Helen smiled at them fondly. "You need to rest a bit, Stark. You were out for 3 days. You don't want to look like this when your kid wakes up," said Helen. Tony didn't mind when Peter was referred to as his kid; he actually liked it. He didn't know how and when, but he had started feeling this way.

Peter woke up to a beeping sound. He opened his eyes to see Tony sitting next to him holding his hands. "Hey buddy, nice to see those brown eyes again," said Tony. Peter smiled at him. "Are you okay, Mr. Stark?" asked Peter as Tony helped him to sit up. "I'm okay; I'm not the one who was stabbed twice," said Tony. Peter didn't look convinced. Tony sighed. "Okay, fine, my left hand is just a little sore, and my heart is still fixing up; otherwise, I'm alright," said Tony. Peter rested his head against Tony's heart. Tony smiled at this. He liked this gesture. It calmed him. He wrapped his arms around Peter. "Did I scare you?" said Peter. Tony closed his eyes to push away the memories of Peter dying in his arms. "Scared me... that's an understatement. You fucking died in my arms. I felt your cold skin against mine. I heard your heartbeat stopping, your pulse fainting, and I was helpless. I swear I have never felt that much scared in my life before. I had a minor heart attack from that," said Tony loudly as he blinked back his tears. "I'm sorry for giving you a minor heart attack, but do you love me this much?" asked Peter playfully. Tony sighed. What was the point in hiding the emotions? But it was just too hard. He just can't say it. "Yeah... I... I... shit... I mean, you are not that bad," said Tony. Why is it so hard to express the emotions? Peter smiled at him."I'm not at all bad, but at least it's some progress, so I can deal with that," said Peter. Tony chuckled. "So let's never do that again. I already got a minor heart attack and a lot of grey hairs," said Tony jokingly, but the concern was evident in his eyes. Peter chuckled. "I will gift you a hair dye," said Peter. Tony ruffled his curls fondly.

Helen entered the room. She gave Tony a stern look. "I have told you to rest. Your arm is still not fine. Why don't you ever listen?" said Helen. Tony glared at Peter as he smirked. "I was just bored and, you know, stiff from lying down. I wanted some change, and I thought I should come to see my kid and look he woke up. I think the effect of my aura," said Tony. He had come there to see Peter; how could he not? Helen rolled her eyes. Peter just stared at Tony dumbfounded. He didn't miss that 'my kid' thing that Tony had definitely not noticed yet. Helen ruffled Peter's hair. "How are you, little champ?" she asked in a very gentle tone that she had never used with Tony. He scoffed. "The inequality," said Tony dramatically. "It's not inequality; it's just that this kid is so good," said Helen. Peter smiled at her. "Thank you, Miss Helen, I'm fine," said Peter. Helen smiled back as she injected a medicine in the IV. "You will be running around after a week, but till then, rest," said Helen softly. Tony stared at her. He had never seen her acting so nicely. She was definitely fond of the kid. The kid has it in his aura, an ability to wrap anyone around his little finger. Or he was some kind of wizard who wraps people in the web of weird emotions. Tony smiled slightly at the thought. Whatever it was, the kid surely had made a permanent place in Tony's heart. Tony now decided what he had to do. He stopped making weapons and advanced technologies for humanity. He didn't doubt his decision. "you are doing the right thing... I am so proud of you, Mr. Stark," Peter said to him with a look of admiration and forgiveness. That's what made his decision worth it.

They both eventually got closer. They watched movies together, worked in the lab, and ate meals together. This is what happiness is. He was kind of happy that he got kidnapped, or he would have missed so much happiness in his life.
Tony woke up in the morning to see Peter was packing his things. "Where are you going?" asked Tony, confusedly. Peter looked at him with raised eyebrows. "Home," he replied matter-of-factly. Tony froze. He had gotten so used to Peter's presence that he had forgotten that he had to go away one day. "Uhh, right," said Tony. No, this was not right. He doesn't want him to go away, and where will the kid go? To his one-room apartment and work in that coffee shop? But he can stay here with him, can't he? Tony cleared his throat significantly. Peter looked up again. "Umm, I was just wondering, I mean, you know, if you want to, then you can stay here; only, I mean, you already have a room here, and, umm, we are also comfortable with each other, so..." said Tony. Peter stared at him with surprise. "Live here... with you... um, I... you don't have to do this, Mr. Stark; it's fine," said Peter. Tony shook his head, desperately wanting Peter to understand what he really wanted. "No, no, it's not at all like that. I'm not doing this because I feel I have to; it's because I want to," said Tony. Peter looked at him before looking away. "Why..." muttered Peter. Tony just stared at Peter. Now this really was a good question. Why did he want him to stay? Because he loved his company, he loved Peter. He already knew that, but he has to let Peter also know. Tony sighed. This was the hard part. He sat in front of Peter. "Because I don't want you to go. I love your company, and I think I got kind of addicted to it, so please don't go." Why can't he just say the words? Peter smiled at him with tearful eyes. He heard those unsaid words. "I love you too," said Peter. Tony pulled him into a hug, burying his face in those brown curls, which smelt like his conditioner. Peter wrapped his arms around Tony's waist, giving in to the warmth. Tony took a deep breath. "Yeah, I love you, kid. I love you very much," said Tony. This felt so good. "Then can we watch Star Wars now?" said Peter. Tony chuckled. "No way! I have already watched it so many times that I know it by heart. We are watching Harry Potter," said Tony. Peter smiled softly
