You know him not us?
"Hey I'm home!" Peter walked into the living room after leaving his bag and Spider-Man suit in his room. It was a quick swing from school to the tower and he stopped a few muggings on the way.
"Peter? What are you doing here? And when did you get here?" Peter whipped his head around to look at the source of the voice, and found his friend Percy in a mini standoff with the Avengers, except Steve who was drawing and Mr. Stark who was absent entirely, Peter noted.
"Pete?" Natasha asked warily, still pointing her knives at Percy. At this point, Peter realized there was one of her knives lodged in the wall behind Percy. "You know this kid?"
"Yeah! We go to the same summer camp. Oh, and Perce, probably should have told everyone at camp earlier but Aunt May died of a heart attack during the war so Mr. Stark is my legal guardian now. They don't know about my heritage, but they do know about Spidey. These are the Avengers, they saved New York from an alien invasion and Thor's brother Loki when we were working on Gaia. I just got here, swung up to the roof and came in that way. Put the suit in my room on the way down. What are you doing here?" Then, the elevator dinged, and Mr. Stark and Pepper walked out.
"Whoa what are you trying to do, kill my nephew? Also, how the fuck did you get up here so fast, kid? Didn't you take the stairs?" Of course, that was the first thing that came out of Tony's mouth. Pepper smacked him on the back of the head and addressed the Avengers in front of her.
"This is Percy, he is Tony's nephew and his mom, unborn sister, and stepdad died recently, so Tony is taking him in."
"Wait." That was Peter, standing there in absolute shock and horror, staring at Percy. "Sally's dead? And Paul? And they were having a kid? Was it something Greek? Or another pantheon? Oh shit, when did they die? Who—oh no you found them didn't you?"
Steve had looked up from his notebook in shock. "Sally?? Who would kill Sally?"
Percy looked down. "Yeah, moms dead, and I found them. It wasn't just a Greek monster. It was T-Ta". Here he stopped and sighed sadly, his shoulders sagging and his hands in his pockets. (and I realize I never said what he was wearing) "The pit. Sorry, I can't say it. It gives me a flashback." Steve looked at him with sympathy, but Peter had enough practice with this exact thing he managed to hide his. He knew Percy hated sympathy.
"Yeah, I have things I can't say or hear either, and not just from the war. We should probably go back to English now, my family," Peter stopped at the confused look on Percy's face and clarified. "The Avengers, they took me in and are like a family to me. Anyway, they're looking rather confused so..."
"I'm not," Steve interrupted.
"You don't count, you can understand us." Peter shot back. Turning back to Percy he corrected himself. "The avengers minus Steve are confused, so can we switch?"
"Course. Anyway, can I sit down now?"
"Sure. Finding Nemo?" Peter grabbed Percy's hand and dragged him onto the couch next to Steve, ignoring the confused stared of the others and avoiding the raised knives still in Natasha's hands before settling the both of them on the couch. "Don't worry, I rerouted it, its perfectly safe. Everything is, or we would have died long ago." This only made the Avengers in the room more confused, but Percy seemed to relax a bit, so they let it go. "Uncle Bucky is training right now. He's from the same time as Steve, think like to meet Nico? Uncle Bucky kinda looks like him, now that I think about it. And their from the same time..." Peter rambled on as Percy tuned him out, knowing that Steve was listening to him, and focused on the TV.
As the credits rolled on Finding Nemo, Percy stood and stretched. "I'm hungry. You got any food, Pete?"
"Yeah. What do you want?"
"Pancakes."
"Blue?" Peter grinned.
"Obviously." Still ignoring the confused stairs, the pair walked into the kitchen, having a heated discussion in Ancient Greek. In reality, the discussion was about whether or not food tasted better blue, but only Steve understood, but he was having to much fun watching their faces to translate. The conversation looked to be getting serious, so the two boys were quickly followed. Suddenly, the boys switched to English.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah really!" The Avengers were surprised, this was the angriest they had ever seen Peter. Steve chuckled at them, they had never seen Peter on the battlefield. Or in Capture the Flag.
"You really think you can take me?"
"Of course!" The boys were glaring at each other with so much intensity it surprised the team around them. How could two boys who had been chatting so happily a minute ago be glaring at each other now?
"Fine! Central Park?"
"Central Park. Normal Mist rules?"
"Definitely."
"After pancakes?"
"Obviously." With that, the tension seemed to evaporate, and Percy and Peter immediately set to work making the pancakes. The Avengers were highly confused, and that confusion only grew when Peter got out the blue food coloring and put it in the batter. Percy glanced at them.
"Go sit in the kitchen, we'll bring the pancakes out when they're done." Tony opened his mouth to argue and ask what the fuck had just happened, but Steve (smartly) decided it would be better for the others to do as he said and dragged them all to the table before joining the boys in the kitchen.
——————-
"You know they're gonna follow you, right?" Steve asked.
"Oh yes." and "most definitely," we're the expected answers, and the ones he received.
After a short silence, Peter spoke. "We can have the draids referee and keep them from interfering. We can't ask them to keep the avengers away entirely, they might get hurt."
"Yeah," Percy agreed. "But we should make sure to tell them to let Steve in just in case someone loses control."
"Good idea. Now, I think we have enough pancakes." At Steve's words, Percy looked up from his mixing bowl to find three plates stacked high with pancakes. He laughed, saying
"Yeah I think so too." Putting the bowl in the sink, the three half-bloods each grabbed a plate and brought it out to the waiting avengers.
