Note
So this has been in the works for a while. One of my favorites things in this show is Clint, Natasha and Sam's friendship so they will probably be the focus. Not to mention I love this show.Sorry for any mis-spelling or grammar issues. If you find a plot issue or something of the like please tell me. I really want this story to be well put together.

Fiddling

“Thor, duck!” hearing his teammate's cry Thor quickly dropped several feet in the sky, while spinning. The thunder god had turned around with just enough speed to see a blunt missile, rocketing through where he had just been.

“Iron Man, I told you not to fiddle with that thing. You almost hit Thor!” Captain America called with anger in his voice. He had already told Tony to stop fiddling with the weapon during battle especially since it was experimental.

The robots that were currently attacking the avengers were a new AIM design. Thankfully they weren’t too hard to deal with, however there was an unfortunate amount of them.

“Hawkeye, how’s the fight looking?” Black Widow called to the Archer who was piloting the Avenge-jet and shooting down bots. Said blonde checked the status of the fight and was about to respond when a pained scream cut through the air.

Ironman, who had not stopped fiddling with the missile launcher, tried to shoot it again. Unfortunately the calibration was still incredibly off, so instead of going through an AIMbot the projectile ended up cutting through one of Falcon’s wings.

This made him start plummeting down to the street only barely conscious. Acting fast Hawkeye started to dive after him in the jet. Getting lower than Falcon, the archer scooped under him. There was a solid thud but the upwards motion lessened the impact.

“Cap!” Hawkeye yelled into the comm links, as Falcon started to slide. He couldn’t do anything to catch the youngest avenger anymore than he already had.

Thankfully the blonde archer had bought enough time for Captain America to grab Falcon out of the air from his sky cycle.

“Cap, how’s falcon?” all of the avengers were quiet waiting for an answer even as they kept fighting.

“Good, he isn’t too badly injured.” a wave of relief washed over each of the Avengers even as the captain continued. “His arm was dislocated, but the armor helped take the brunt of the falls. Hawkeye, how close are we to being done?”

Checking the status again, Hawkeye was actually able to give a report this time. “Almost all the bots are gone, just some that are still around Stark, Hulk and Thor. Not much damage either.”

Without having to discuss what the plan should be, the heroes split off. Natasha and Clint quickly rushed to where Steve was checking up on Sam, meanwhile Tony, Thor, and Hulk were finishing up the last of the bots.

“Careful Falcon the sling might help but it isn’t going to fix it all at once.” Cap’s tone was light but still laced with concern. His face was tight with a slightly forced smile. Hawkeye and Black Widow stood a few steps back. The fight was over and the four were now waiting for their teammates.

“I know I just don’t like not being able to move my arm.” Sam responded with a sigh. His hands kept fiddling with the strap of the sling. Seeing their other teammates coming gets him to stop as the group walks closer to where Hawkeye and Widow were waiting for the others near the avengejet.

Hulk landed nearby sending small shock waves, a little further away Iron man and Thor landed together. The two started walking, but Thor noticed his armored friend was still fiddling with the prototype weapon.

“Weren’t you told not to play with that thing?” Thor questioned warily, he had only barely missed the missile that flew towards him and didn’t trust the machine. Tony just sighed in exasperation before responding.

“It’s fine Thor, I’m not trying to fire it just trying to fix something.” As they spoke the two heroes were now nearly at the group. Hulk was dragging some of the destroyed bots into a pile while Widow and Hawkeye were discussing something a few feet away from Cap and Falcon. Out of the five only Hawkeye was facing Iron man and thor.

As Iron Man continued to fiddle with the rocket launcher a missile shot out. Heading right for Cap’s and Falcon’s exposed backs. Seeing the missile shoot and the direction it was going Hawkeye raced forward pushing his teammates out of the way.

The other two heroes tumbled, surprised by the hit. Both recovered fast enough when they looked up and saw their archer get hit by the missile square in the chest. The impact sent him several feet back. He landed prone and unmoving on the ground.

“NOOOO” Black Widow’s voice rang out the loudest even as she was already sprinting to her partner. She crashed to her knees when she got to his side, her hands already reaching to check his pulse.

Natasha breathed a small sigh of relief as she felt his heartbeat but it quickly faded as the archer’s body let out a few weak coughs, causing blood to come trickling from his mouth.

She wiped it away even as she told Hulk to carefully pick him up. Before telling him to get in the jet. The rest of the team was in the jet already. As soon as the others were mostly settled in the jet, Steve took off towards the tower. Jarvis had already been notified to prep the med bay.

It was a quiet ride. Everyone racked with worry, and in Tony’s cause guilt. Hulk had a tight grip on Clint  barely giving any room for someone else to touch the archer, Thor was pacing out of worry and misplaced guilt, Steve was gripping the controls like he was trying to break it, Tony was wringing his hands look at the ground like it was a staring contest, Sam was keeping Clint stable as best he could with limited movement of his arm and even less room, and Natasha was splitting her time between looking over Clint and glaring daggers at Tony.

As soon as they landed Clint was put on the med table and Sam got to work keeping one his closest friends alive. Leaving the others to wait and hope.
