“Don’t worry about it,” Slade replies with a noncommittal shrug, as if that’ll be the end of things.
But Addie knows her husband, knows that he’s not above picking fights with children, knows that he’d go to the ends of the earth for his own, and knows that some twerp at school has been bullying Joey for whatever bullshit reasons kids get mean with each other.
Needless to say, she’s pretty fucking worried about it.
