Really, Din didn't expect to wake up to a witch-faerie-whatever child waiting on his doorstep. He remembered the stories Rook had told him about Jetii, of course he did, and there was no doubt that the kid was a witch, but the stories were meant to be just that— stories.
"Don't they take— never mind, doesn't matter," he murmurs, picking the kid up, "too cold for questions right now; let's get you inside."
