They’d been in love, once— so in love that it was sickening, never able to see each other’s flaws, blind to all the warning signs until it was too late.
There was love once, but now blood is all that remains. It stains their hands, their hearts, washes away the last of their fondness for each other in seas of sticky red as if the love was never there in the first place.
