I'll put Down my Roots When I'm Dead.

Logan is used to not remembering things. You don't live as long as he has without forgetting a lot of things, people, places.

He doesn't remember Spider-Man; well, he does, but not really. He knows he knew who the arachnid was outside of the mask; after the whole body swap thing, it was kind of hard not to, but now suddenly, all memories involving whoever is under the mask are gone.

He blinks and shakes the strange fog from his head; he'd been heading to New York to help Spider-Man with something, to show support for something huge. He doesn't know what that was now, though. That won't stop him from showing up anyway; the vigilante probably still needs support, and not being able to remember him doesn't bode well.

The Daily Bugle is still pushing Spider-Man's murder trial, but most other news stations have stopped mentioning it entirely. Whatever had happened had been swept up, and people were moving on. This was not the thing Logan was coming to help with; he's certain of this.

He follows his nose to May Parker's grave, but he doesn't know why that information feels significant. The trail leads him to an apartment building that was being rebuilt; it doesn't feel familiar, but it has the same air of significance, beyond what the news had shown about the massive fight Spider-Man had here a week ago.

He finds the sanctum. He scowls at the idea of talking to Doctor Strange; though he knows that he probably had something to do with the missing knowledge, he also probably didn't have answers.

The trail does lead him to the Spider, where he's wrapping up some type of organized crime with two other vigilantes to help him. Logan didn't bother to learn their names, but he does recognize the Punisher. The other with them was dressed in a red armored outfit with little horns on his head; he's the one who whips his head towards him seconds before Spider-Man does.

"Spider-Man." Logan calls out, Punisher's reaction being to pull a gun on him; Logan ignores the two who mean nothing to him.

"Wolvie!" Spider-Man's voice is pitched up in excitement. "I haven't seen you in a few years now! Since the whole, freaky Friday, yeah?" He's landed in front of Logan, practically vibrating.

"Yeah bub, I got a lot of questions you need to answer here soon." Spider-Man freezes; it's clear he wasn't expecting that response. "For now, though, you wrap up your playdate." Punisher scoffs. "And come by my safe house later; I'll have food for ya. I can smell from here you haven't been eating enough."

"Bloodhound." He hears Spider mutter under his breath. "I- yeah okay. It'll be good seeing you again, Wolverine! Oh! Right! This is Punisher and DareDevil, they're helping me with this drug bust- not that I really needed it, but it's also close to their turf, so I figured I'd warn them, and then they wanted to come along, and-" Logan chuckles and rests his hand on the young vigilante's head.

"Calm down, you can tell me all about it later. Go do your thing, Spider-Man." Logan waves the kid off, observing the two others while Spider-Man's back is turned. DareDevil is standing with his head tilted as if listening to something. He probably has enhanced senses, judging by how his eyes were covered, probably higher than Spider-Man's senses were. The Spider vigilante uses deliberately bad goggles to help dull his own senses.

Punisher was stiff and staring down Logan; it was clear he wasn't too pleased to have a witness he couldn't threaten into silence, especially considering Frank Castle was supposed to be dead. Logan had no reason to say anything, though, as long as Castle didn't bother Spider-Man too much anyway.

Logan allowed his claws to extend a bit in threat to them. DareDevil flinched rather harshly at the sound. Punisher also took a minute step back before meeting Logan's gaze and offering a nod of acknowledgment. Good.

"-and the wizard, Mister Doctor Strange, had to cast a spell to fix the multiverse, and it made Peter Parker be erased from everyone's memory- which apparently also meant my school records and stuff, so right now I technically still don't exist." Logan ignores the soft feeling in his chest at the familiar rambling escaping the Spider between bites. He'd explained everything that happened, including the death of his aunt, which was that woman May Parker.

Logan assumes he'd been coming to show support for Peter when he'd been forcibly revealed, wanting to come scare off everyone going after him for whatever. He'd never believed the kid had actually killed Beck, and if he had, then he definitely had a damn good reason to, no questions needed to be asked about it.

"Mr. DareDevil was all like, 'Oh, get off of my turf, kid. Go home, kid. Stop playing hero, kid.' Like, I've been a vigilante longer than all of them. What right does he have to tell me I'm a child? And then he went and got Mr. Punisher, and he was all like, 'You have no idea what you're getting into, kid. Leave this to the professionals.' And they tried to peer pressure me, like I went to space to fight a big purple alien and died years before they became vigilantes; they should show some respect for their elders. I didn't even need their help; I just thought it'd be good courtesy to make sure I wouldn't mix up any plans they already had to deal with that gang."

"Jesus, kid, take a breath for a moment; I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." Logan chuckled, looking away from the Spider, who is now openly staring at him.

"You're not?"

"Nope, I'll be here for as long as you need me, and if you don't, then you can't get rid of me. Sides, who's gonna help you show those posers who the big vigilante in town is?"

If Logan felt lighter at Peter's subsequent implosion of excitement, well, nobody needed to know. He was actually quite fond of the kid, and the kid had been dealt a bad hand.
