Meeting the Avengers
As they made their way to meet the other Avengers, Alex was internally freaking out. He was a fan of the Avengers and has been for years. However he had only mentally prepared to meet Bruce and Tony. NOT the others.
He had been in the tower for a little over two hours at this point and had been given so much new and unexpected information that he didn’t know if he could handle more.
As the elevator finally reached a new floor, Alex took a deep breath as the doors opened, he needed to remain professional.The doors opened and Tony was the first one to step out, followed by Bruce. Alex followed the two into a large living room.
“This is the common room. Feel free to use this space while you are here. You’re pretty much apart of the team now anyways!” Tony explained while Alex looked around. In the center of the room was the biggest TV Alex had ever seen. And in front of it was an even bigger couch. Across the room was a kitchen and long dining table.
“Feel free to use the kitchen whenever you like, if there’s ever a food that you would like, ask F.R.I.D.A.Y and she’ll add it to the grocery list.”
Not trusting his voice, all Alex could do was nod in understanding. He had not expected any of this. Not waiting for Alex to verbally reply Tony just continued taking “The others should be down here for lunch soon, they have been doing some group training all morning. they always come get something to eat after.”
Just like Tony had cued them, the elevator door opened and Hawkeye and Black Widow walked into the common room. Alex don’t be starstruck ACT COOL. “Clint! Nat! I want you to meet our new intern Alex Simons!” Tony introduces as he pats you uncomfortably hard on the back.
Extending your hand to them you greet them with a smile on your face “It’s a pleasure to meet you two”
They both shook his hand and smiled back a him. “ So you’re the genius that Bruce and Tony have been talking about” Natasha says smiling taking Alex’s hand. “No need to be formal with us, I’m exited to get to know you” She adds before he moved onto shaking Clint’s hand. “Noted” Alex replied smiling. Clint looked Alex up and down before taking the young man’s hand in his. “For someone who’s supposed to be a nerd, your pretty buff, you work out?”
Alex couldn’t help but laugh at that statement. He worked out at least a couple times a week. It helped him get out of the lab and stay healthy. “I try too, helps me especially after 8 hour shifts in a lab hunched over a computer” He explained as he smiled and shook the archers hand.
Clint smiled at that. “Tell that to Tony and Bruce. We have to drag them out of their labs to train. You could teach them about a work life balance” Clint said while smirking at the two scientists.
“Who are we teaching about a work life balance?” A new voice suddenly asked. Alex turned around and standing there was Sam Wilson, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. Alex tried not to turn red at the appearance of his two old crushes. Shit was he blushing? Act cool Alex stay professional.
“Apparently our new intern here will be teaching me and Brucie a couple things about it.” Tony remarked slapping Alex on the back before guiding him over to the 3 buff men.
“This is Alex, Alex this is Sam, Bucky and Steve” Tony introduced. Alex once again extended his hand and shook all three of the super soldiers hands.
After shaking Steve and Buckys hand his brain started to wander. God they have firm handshakes, they could break my hand. They could break my back if they-
Alex quickly snapped himself out of it before putting on his signature smile and greeted the super soldiers. “Pleasure to meet you three”
Sam replied first out of the three men. “Alex great to finally meet you man.” Before adding with a knowing smirk “ which project did you pick? Those two nerds have been fighting over it non stop.”
“Oh uh I chose Sargent Barnes arm…” Alex replied caught off guard. He didn’t expect to be put on the spot like that.
Bucky smiled at the formal name. “No need for formalities. Please call me Bucky.” Alex nodded, starting to feel uncomfortable with the attention of all the hero’s.
Bucky noticed the man’s shift and added. “I’m looking forward to working with you, I have a couple of ideas for the new model”he said before offering a small smile. Alex couldn’t help but notice Steve holding Buckys flesh hand and giving it a squeeze. Steve noticed Alex looking and gave him a nod.
Before Alex could process what he saw, Tony started leading him away from the group. “This has been fun, but I have to show my intern around the rest of the tower” Alex said goodbye to the other Avengers before Tony lead him back into the elevator.
Holy shit are Captain America and the Winter Soldier dating??
