The Future's Secret (B1)
Wade appears teleported to the front of the room after the scene ends making some people be shocked but other than that there is no other reaction. “We will have a break…due to the author wanting to write some moments between some people”Wade says, causing everyone to look at each other still not understanding the concept of ‘the book’ but at least they get a break as they’ve gotten to the point where the past has been brought from.
As Wade disappears everyone stands up groaning as they stretch their limbs from sitting in the seats for the two parts they have- well one for Future!Peeta-. “The relief to say…the future looks about as unpromising as the rest of my life.”Daniel says laughing, a grin plastered on his face as people look at him. “Oh come on, like I’m lying.”He says seeing the faces who just turn from the man-rather not bothering with the man or used to his behavior enough to ignore it-.
Florence grabs the bottle out of Johanna’s hand before thinking of a long dinner table, since there’s so many people in the theater. An old Victorian England wood table and matching chairs vaporizes in the back of the theater making many look surprised while Florence just walks to the table and sets down her cup and the bottle before turning back to everyone. “As whatever we think happens…this should get normal soon.”She shrugs her shoulders before walking back to the other three parts of the ‘Future Quartet™’.
All four gather in a circle trying to keep their voices low as they try to come up with some way to survive the mysterious theater they’ve been put into, especially with them not needing the people from the past to know too much about their future lives yet.
“If we're keeping things a secret you three, yeah, can’t sleep in the same room.”Future!Peeta says, causing the girls to look at the man. “Two of you-Florence and Johanna-can but Katniss, no not with past me still thinking you're engaged to him, well I guess married at this point as you're from the future.”Future!Peeta says to the girl as he scratches his chin in thought. “Alright fine, them two get a room, I’ll get a room beside them, and since whatever we think happens my room can have a door leading into theirs.”Katniss says, agreeing to the man’s strategy.”It can be hidden to not make it so obvious.”Florence says causing the male blonde nod. “Other than that we just need to keep our mouths shut. Got it?”Future!Peeta says, causing all four of them to nod. “Seems easy enough, just give vague answers.”Johanna says, shrugging her shoulders.
With everyone in agreement they all break off to talk to those from the past, especially some that aren’t still with them. Florence being the first to head straight to Finnick. “Airhead! There you are.''Florence says walking up to the man dangling her arm around his shoulder. “You're quite annoying still, do you know that?”Finnick says, getting out from under her arm and turning to the girl.
Florence smiles, having missed her conversations and teasing with the man. “I’ve been told it’s part of my charm.”She says, causing the blonde to chuckle dryly. “Wonder who decided that the charm was so interesting.”He says drawing out the ‘o’ in so and making Florence smile grow wider as she thinks about Johanna and Katniss, her eyes finding them both by habit.
Katniss seems to be getting grilled by a younger Peeta with Future!Peeta beside her and Johanna talking to Daniel. “I was lucky enough to find someone who did.''Florence says as her eyes turn back to the man, the smile on her face still bright and genuine. Something the man hasn’t seen from the girl in some time without any underlying tone of doom. Finnick hums. “They're lucky to have you.”He says the teasing undertones in his voice now gone. Florence shakes her head. “I’m lucky to have them really.”She says, sighing, taking a quick glance at the floor and then back into Finnick’s ironically ocean blue eyes.
Noticing the sadness in her voice Finnick nods before changing the conversation. “Well since they're so special, tell me about them.”He asks as the two sit down in the chairs surrounding the table that no one is sitting at having got them couches or lounge chairs to appear in the room to replace the regular theater chairs from earlier.
“They are…perfectly imperfect.”Florence says before thinking about the two girls. “Of course they are your lovesick puppy, what’s their personality like.”Finnick says, hitting the back of the girl's head as she fakes being offended at his comment. “You should’ve been more specific.''Florence says, shrugging at the man with a grin gracing her lips. “Off-topic, tell me!”he says excitedly, making Florence nod as she sits up straighter thinking of both of her girls.
“Their beautiful, strong personality, cute, headstrong, shy yet confident,fiery yet down to earth, really cool and keeps me on my toes just to name a few aspects of their personality.”Florence says smiling as she describes the personality of both the girls.
“Me and Peter are like that too.”Wade says, popping up by the two making them jump, not seeing the man appear. “Don’t do that Wade.”Finnick says to the man. “Awww…but I thought you’d want to hear about my relationship…he’s just so handsome.”Deadpool says, making them both nod. “I never thought anyone would date you with how weird you seem with your talk of actors,authors, and books but there's one for everyone I guess.”Florence says, making Wade gasps. “Of course…I’m just so charming and good looking under this mask anyone would be lucky to have me. I miss Peter now…Maybe I should go see him…he should be back from messing with Tom Holland’s Spider Boy.``Wade says in though making the two blondes look at each other.
Florence has a look that says ‘He’s crazy…like crazier than me…’ making Finnick nod before they turn back to the man. “How bout you go see Peter then?”Florence says, making Wade smile. “Florence you are so smart…no matter what some of them may say.”Deadpool says, grabbing her head and quickly kissing her cheek before disappearing. Florence wipes her cheek before turning back to Finnick who laughs at her before talking.
“That man’s crazy but back to our conversation… it sounds like what you need in life from a partner from what you said,huh.”Finnick says as Florence nods. “Of course….I’ma leave you to it so I can talk to a few of the others.”Florence says standing up patting the man's shoulder with a smile on her face before walking off, feeling Finnick’s eyes trailing after her but not knowing he’s smiling at how happy she seems.
Katniss has an annoyed look on her face as past Peeta keeps pestering her and Future!Peeta with questions. She has tried to be nice and tolerate it fakely but, oh my gosh, it’s becoming too much. “Peeta, look, the future will be shown ok?! Just wait to watch it cause I can’t tell you anything!”She says slightly snapping at the boy, her patience having broken before walking away. Future!Peeta smiles sheepishly at his younger self. “Sorry…she has been trying to answer you to the best of her ability though. It’s just too much at one time, no hard feelings.”Future!Peeta says to his past self before walking off in a different way than Katniss knowing one of the girls will calm her down leaving behind a disheartened Peeta.
Johanna is talking to Daniel as Katniss walks by her, clearly fuming, from something. She looks at the direction from which the brunette was coming from to see past Peeta standing there making her well aware of how the kid might have caused her to be angered.
She smiles at Daniel as he continues talking before cutting him off. “Hey Daniel..sorry to cut you off…but I’ma go check on something real quick ok?”She asks the man who nods. “Alright fire hazard, find me later if you want.”He says, making Johanna grin at him at the nickname before heading in the direction Katniss was heading. She takes a quick glance to see Florence talking to Haymitch, deciding to leave the girl and walking towards Katniss as she enters a room, her room.
Hearing the door open Katniss turns around to see Johanna. She sends a small smile at the girl before sighing as she lays on the bed in the room staring at the ceiling. Johanna smiles a little as she sits on the end of the bed beside the younger girl. “What did Peeta do…and does it require me beating him up?”She asks with a teasing tone in her voice but Katniss knows she’d actually do it. “No,no, it does not require him getting beat up.”Katniss says sitting up to be level with the auburnette. “He just was asking too many questions about the future.”Katniss says, making Johanna hum in understanding as she leans back onto the bed as Katniss does the same. A comfortable silence overcomes the two as they lay with each other.
Florence walks around the room saying pleasantries to everyone until past Peeta comes up to her making her roll her eyes as she was looking for her girls in the midst of all the chaos but decides to at least be nice to the oblivious boy. “Peeta…hey”She says smiling fakely at the boy, a smile she’s perfected at this point in her life. “Florence…where’s Katmiss and why won’t she answer my questions?”Peeta says annoyance clearly in his tone. “I cannot answer either of those questions as I don’t know how Katniss feels so…find her and ask.”Florence says before going to walk away from the boy to find said girl.
She quickly finds Future!Peeta getting his attention as she comes from behind the man. “Florence…what do ya need?”He asks the girl with a regular smile plastered on his face. “Nothing…just do you know where Katniss or Johanna might’ve went?”Florence asks, looking around the room one more time but still not seeing either of them and she hasn’t seen them exit or enter the kitchen or dining room. “Uh…no, not recently. I know Katniss went that way so might wanna check over there.”Peeta says to the girl who quickly smiles at him. “Thank you so much…owe you one.”She says as she quickly claps her hands together before speed walking over in the direction Peeta pointed her towards.
When she gets to the “edge” of the black space she sees a door with the name “Katniss room” making her smile. She quickly thinks up a bedroom for her and Johanna to be beside the room. Walking into their room she’s impressed by how it’s already decorated but not paying too much attention to it as she walks through another door that connects their room and Katniss’.
The two girls quickly sit up hearing the jiggling of a door knob as the door is then opened with the regular squeaking sound. Confused, the two turn to each other before Florence walks into the room from behind the girls. “Boo!”She says, scaring the girls ending up with her being hit by both of them making her laugh at their reactions as winces come from both of the females' hits. “Alright alright I get your point.''Florence says as her laughter calms down but the smile on her face still plastered there as she looks at the two women she’s lucky enough to call her girlfriends.
The two girls make room for Florence on the bed as they all shoot up on the bed as they all lay together, Katniss in the middle, relishing in the moment with each other.
A knock on the door knocks the throuple out of their little bubble as Florence and Johanna both untangle themselves from Katniss. “Who is it?”Katniss asks, her voice holding a bit of tiredness in it. Florence pecks the girl’s lips with a quick ‘see you later’ before exiting the room with Johanna kissing her forehead and leaving behind Florence.
The door opens to show Peeta, future Peeta, at the door. “Katniss…I can leave if you're sleeping.”He notices the girl is in bed and the tone of her voice. “What do you want Peeta?”She asks, her voice returning to her normal one devoid of sleep as she becomes more alert. “Oh…uh…I just wanted to talk, ya know, since our entire life-well not entire but ya know what I mean- over the few years is gonna be put on blast I,,, thought it’d be best if me, you, and the other girls talk,”He says avoiding eye contact with her as he scratches the back of his neck sheepishly nervous of the brunettes answer.
Katniss sighs as she gets up from the bed. “I’m pretty sure we all understand the past is the past….and to not judge each other from past ...choices”Katniss says smiling a small smile at the boy. “If it calms your…worries…I’ll get Florence and Johanna.”Katniss says to the man who sighs. “It really would….just to…hear it from their mouth ya know?”Peeta says looking for some sign of understanding in Katniss’ eyes. The brunette nods before walking to go get her girlfriends.
Florence and Johanna are in the room silent listening through the walls to the conversation going on. Florence is laying on Johanna’s legs as the girl runs her hand through her hair soothing the girl. As Katniss enters the two turn to the door to see Katniss with an all knowing look. “I know you both were eavesdropping….wanna talk?”She asks the girls who look at each other shrugging with a nod as they both stand up and walk out of their room, separate to Katniis who goes back through her room door, to meet with Peeta who is sitting in one of the theater chairs.
Florence sits on one side of Peeta hitting his forearm lightly to get his attention as Katniss sits on the other side and they move the chairs to make a circle form as they are the only ones who haven’t changed their chairs yet having been exploring the room and talking to people. “You wanted to talk….talk.”Johanna stays getting a glare from Katniss which makes her look at the girl with a look before returning her gaze back to Peeta while Florence lets out a gentle chuckle getting a scolding look from Johanna.
Peeta looks at the three women, who are seemingly intimidating- now that he thinks about it- and his nervousness is already at an all time high but he knows they’re his friends. He takes a few breaths before speaking.
“I just wanted to talk about what’s gonna be shown…which admittedly won’t be pretty….as we all know”Peeta starts making them hum in agreement. “Nothing about the past is pretty…but we did what we had to survive.”Florence says to the man who nods in agreement.
“With how deep they went in the first few scenes I just am going to say…it’s safe to say… they’ll get pretty specific in every conversation and occurrence that happened from our point of view…all of ours…”Peeta trails off trying to convey his point. As he looks over the girls faces he sees he’s gotten it across. “Well…shit.”Florence says, having nothing to say as she sits back in her chair. “We’re all gonna be nursing a bottle by the end of this.”Florence says, chuckling trying to bring humor to the situation. “Not the time, Florence.”Johanna says, her voice a bit more serious from how it was earlier as silence fills the space between the quartet.
“No judging…”Florence says looking at the other three. “No matter what’s shown…we don’t judge each other but talk it out…''Florence says looking at the other three whose eyes are solely trained on her although their thoughts are everywhere. “Promise?”Peeta says, causing them to nod. Variations of ‘ok’ are heard from the three females.
Florence stands up looking at the three victors. “Now…if anybody needs me I’ll be in the shower. You two are…surely welcome to join.``Florence says winking at the girls before she hears a fake gagging noise coming from Peeta. “Didn’t need to hear that Flo.”Peeta says looking at the girl who rolls her eyes chuckling at his childish antics. “You and Taylor aren’t so innocent.”Florence says before turning and leaving the circle walking to her. She looks back to her girlfriends with a smirk before continuing walking with a bit more sway in her hips as she feels both of their eyes trained on her.
As the three walk out of the bathroom the steam releases as they open the door. They are all wrapped in towels, a few hickies littered on their body neck down, as they walk towards the cupboard that sits in the room looking for clothes that are more free and comfortable than the previous ones they were in.
Florence decides to wear a white crew neck and a pair of black harem pants. Katniss wears a black t-shirt and a pair of black tight fitting joggers. Johanna decides on a red muscle tank top and a pair of black joggers, same as Katniss.
“I’m going to go get something to eat before bed…do you either want me to bring you anything?”Florence asks the girl, already knowing a few of their late night cravings but not wanting to assume anything. “I don’t have much of an appetite right now.”Katniss says, making Florence nod even though she plans to bring back something from the girl knowing how she gets before turning to Johanna. “Anything for you, darling?”Florence asks, smiling when she sees a bit of a pink flush on the girl's cheeks from the nickname, loving how she can fluster her. “Just some fruit.”She asks, making Florence nod kissing both of their cheeks before leaving the room leaving behind two flustered girls.
“That girl is gonna kill both of us.”Johanna says before getting into bed as Katniss slides in beside her. “Yeah…but we’ll love it.”Katniss says smiling to Johanna who nods in agreement as she wraps herself around the brunette.
As the two get comfortable in bed while talking to each other Florence walks back in with three small plates and three small cups gaining the two girls’ attention as they sit up onto the soft headboard. “Here you go..”Florence says, handing each girl their plate and cup of tea. “I asked you to not get me anything.''Katniss says, causing Florence to smile at her as she slides into bed in between the two girls. “Yeah…but you always drink a cup of tea before sleeping…and some nights you eat bread with it.”Florence says to the girl who smiles at how considerate her girlfriend is. “Thank you anyway.”Katniss says to the girl, kissing her cheek as she did earlier.
Florence then turns her attention to Johanna who is holding her cup in her hand allowing the warmth of the cup to warm her up. “How about you? Is the fruit choice fine…tea hot enough?”Florence asks the auburnette who hums bringing the tea cup away from her lips turning to her girlfriend. “It’s perfect Flo..don’t worry.”She says calming the girl's nerves as she starts drinking her tea and eating her fruit.
Florence follows behind both of her girlfriends drinking her tea and eating a slice of cake. “You know..I’ll never understand how you can eat that before bed.”Katniss says as she finishes her bread having her tea left to finish. “It’s comforting eating a sweet before bed…I did it every night I was sober before I started drinking myself to sleep.”Florence explains making Katniss hum before taking a sip of her tea finishing it off.
“I have to go now. We agreed we’d be sleeping in separate beds.”Katniss says to both girls as she starts undoing the covers that are over her body. Johanna grabs her wrist across from Florence.``Come on…at least stay until we’re both done eating.”Johanna asks, smiling at the girl causing her to sigh as she slides back into the bed. “You're lucky you're so cute when you smile. You know I’m a sucker for it.”Katniss says to the girl who chuckles. “Just until you're both done eating.”Katniss says pointing to the two who nod. “Yes ma’am.”Florence says smiling before drinking her tea.
As the two finish their tea and food a loud screech comes over the intercom. “I am back from seeing my boyfriend with a new kick of energy. He was just so dreamy and hot…you should meet him…Maybe I’ll allow it, if the author does,…but on another note. We will start showing again in 10 hrs so might wanna catch up on the sleep you're lacking you sleep deprived people.”Wade says over the intercom before it screeches again to a close.
The three look at each other before Katniss starts to unravel herself from the covers of the bed. “Goodnight both of you.”Katniss says, kissing both of them before heading to the door that connects both of their rooms. “Katniss wait…can’t we just sleep in your room and then leave in the morning.”Florence says knowing Katniss sleeps better with one of them cuddling her and she does too. She just likes knowing the two are safe and beside her it brings her peace of mind. “Peeta did say you had to sleep in a separate room…he never said anything about sleeping in that room.”Johanna says backing up her girlfriend. “Alright…come on you two.”Katniss says, giving in knowing there’s no way she’s going to win this argument.
They all three settle into the queen sized bed in the room saying ‘good night’ and’ I love you’ to each other before going to sleep with the others not too far from it settling into their beds. Sleeping might be hard for some of them but they all end up sleeping some way by the end of the night even if it’s not for very long.
