Chapter 6
“You married Steve.” Tony couldn't help himself, but asked about it. Oh, it’s already weeks now, he’s talking to his other self in his real world. They still working on it to figure it out how the hell they’re has been swapped. Luckily, they able to talk to each other. Which makes the whole research thing become more productive—and fun—because there is two genius head working together instead of one, and although Tony will never admit it; He enjoys his other self company.
The question make the other him, stopped humming. “True,” he answered without a necessary pause.
“How?” Tony asked with a hint of amazement in his voice.
The other Tony chuckled, “He love me and I love him, simple.”
“It’s not that simple for me.”
“Well, make it simple. It’s what’s we do, right?”
Sometime Tony amazed by how confident his other self is. And how he never missing a beat to counter his opponent argument without much thought. “It’s never simple with Steve. Steve in my world, i mean.”
“Maybe it’s not simple because you never try.”
“What?”
“Well, considering how things working out in your world, i can imagine why are you dismiss everyone around you, i can’t blame you. Sometimes Tony Stark can do that to defend themselves.”
“But you are not like me.”
“Yes. Which makes me understand that more, because i might be like you if i lost JARVIS.”
Tony hands stopped working. The other him continues his monologue, “I know you, we, consider JARVIS as our first layer of protection. Losing him is enough to cause you a huge blow, and then Thor choked you, the team blamed you for Ultron, and the media use it to deep fry you. And Sokovia flying, the accords, well, if it were me, i will pull my hair off, you know.”
“I did.” Tony confirms.
“Which makes you more special.”
“You flatter me.”
“I am not the one to flatter someone. I only flatter myself.”
“That’s what you do right now.”
“I know.”
Tony laughed at the firm and confident tone of his other self. It was... Fun. Yes, to talk to someone who understands himself, understandable because despite having a slight different experience, this Tony Stark is still him. The genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.
“I can’t imagine myself marrying Steve, though.”
“It’s easy to falling in love with Tony Stark, believe me.”
“Yes, it’s easy to falling in love with you.”
“Nuh uh. Every version of me, of you, we.”
“I can’t believe it.”
“No? Then, use this trick.”
“What trick?”
“You know the expression we make when we wanted something but Pepper says no?”
“Oh."
“Yes, you got it. Use that trick to your Steve. I assure you, he will be yours in just 24 hours.”
