Chapter 2
Everyone worried about Tony. After JARVIS alerted the avengers that Tony fainted in the elevator, Steve—everyone—comes running. Steve get to Tony first. And he was the one who brought Tony to his bed. Told JARVIS to call doctor, as fast as possible. The Doctor at the tower came, and then confirmed that Tony is fine, no physical injuries found. Except for the fact that he maybe suffered from Panic Attack.
To everyone surprise, because Tony Stark they know, never suffered from one before. Sure, Tony told them before that there is time in his life before that he have suffered from those—when he’s held captive in a cave in Afghanistan—but that’s already passed. Is he still suffering from those traumatic event or what? No one knows.
This is too sudden. Just yesterday, the Avengers have movie night and laughed hard and loud to each other, Tony looked fine the entire night. Until this morning. Everyone has been summoned to the common room. Letting the doctor giving full examination for Tony, as they cornered JARVIS demand for explanation.
“JARVIS. What happened?” Steve asked. Voice firm and stern.
The AI, sounds a bit worry still for Tony, but answered, “Sir seems to be surprised when he hears my voice,” JARVIS answered. “I notice that his heart rate increasing rapidly and his face looked pale. So i suggesting to call Miss Pepper or Captain Rogers, but then he called my name in surprise and fainted.”
After that, JARVIS showed the footage of Tony on the lift. His face looks like he bewildered after talking to Sam, he hold the plate of his bag of snacks tightly, with a sandwich in his hand. And then, everyone sees, he looked up in surprise and then fainted.
Natasha is the one speak up next, “Why is this? JARVIS, why is Tony acting like this?”
“That is my question too, miss Romanov,” JARVIS said. “He seems to know me, but surprised that i am here, it’s almost like i supposed to be gone.”
After several thought, Sam piped up, “He did the same to me when we met in the elevator, it almost like he surprised that i— i don’t know how to say it, it’s look like he doesn’t know that we were friends.”
“I guess we have no choice than asking Tony himself,” Bruce suggested. “He might be suffering from a trauma that he didn’t tell us about, we have to be careful.”
Everyone nods. And then JARVIS told them that Tony is awake.
Tony confused. Like, very, very, very confused! He tried to talk JARVIS, confirming his ears. And them, it was confirmed, JARVIS is there. There is some empty spaces in his heart after JARVIS gone, and it leaves a big hole and sore spot in his heart. Too real to be a dream, the moment of emptiness when JARVIS not around him anymore.
Tony walked to his workshop. Looking up at the ceiling as he says, “JARVIS, lockdown the workshop, don’t let anyone in.”
“Sir, i suggest you to meet the Avengers first, they are very worried about you,” JARVIS spoke. His tone seemed to be careful and Soothing, as if he was afraid he might startle Tony again. Tony miss that JARVIS. It’s real, its his JARVIS.
“I will meet them later, i need some time alone.” His voice almost sounds like begging.
JARVIS replied then, “Alright, sir. But i will open the workshop if you have panic attacks again.”
It doesn’t a suggestion. It was a warning. Just what JARVIS would do. He makes a faint smile, “I just confused.”
“About what exactly, sir?”
“This, you, everyone— this world.”
“I afraid i don’t get what you mean, sir.”
Tony nodded. “Well—”
Just when Tony about to speak again, he hears something from one of his devices. Oh. He remembers this foreign device. Last night, after having a fight with Steve about how reckless Tony is, he decided to go make another reckless choice, trying to make dimensional communication device, that allows people to talk through each other that have the same device, eventhough that people is on outer space.
Tony think, it’s kind of annoying when he can’t call Thor whenever they need him, and to prevent losing contact with Bruce, mainly. Steve always be a bitch when it comes to a big fight that need large ranged blows. Well, it made just in a whim, but turned out, the device is not working like what Tony expecting it to.
He remembers last night he hears a voice coming out from that device when it supposed to catch no signals yet because Tony hasn’t made another device yet. He just working on one. He remember just until that. Until he hear a sound from the devices, and trying to find out from where that sounds is. Somehow Tony... Have crazy idea that, what happened today is because of this device...
Tony takes the device. And then asked, “JARVIS, you know what is this?”
“Yes, sir, that is the device you working on for Mr. Thor. You wanted him to be able to call the others when he go outside the space.”
Even the reasoning for the making of this device is the same. But he remember he made this device with FRIDAY. It’s insane to whatever in his mind right now. “Jarvis, is this function for use already?” Tony asks.
Jarvis replied, “No. It’s not—” JARVIS became silent for a moment, and then replied with a slightly confused voice. “It’s supposed to not function yet because there is no other devices to catch the signals yet, but somehow i find this device already connected to something, sir.”
“What?”
The same time as Tony makes that surprised look, another fuzzy, blurred sounds—it almost sounds like a broken old radio— come from the device. It doesn’t clear what is that sounds yet. Until Tony pressing on the button that suppose to accept calls. And then, there is a voice.
Or rather,
His own voice. “Hello? Is someone’s there?”
