Introduction
Out in the woods in the middle of nowhere was a cabin. And the owner of that hidden cabin, Mason Perez, was outside gathering up firewood. Perez has been alone basically since she was a kid. The whole world thought she was KIA for the past 6 years. She liked being alone. It was safer that way. Not for her but for everyone around her. Mason picked up a few logs and carried the to her cabin. She walked inside and dropped the wood by the fireplace. Mason walked into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge. She was about to take a drink when she felt someone in the room. She sighed and put the cap back on.
"I'm guessing you aren't here for a friendly chat." Mason turned around to see Nick Fury standing there, holding a black tablet.
"Not this time, Perez." Nick says, leaning against the wall.
“What do you want, Nick?" She asked as she placed the water bottle down on the counter.
“Call in my favor. I need you.” He hands her the file.
She opened the file and began reading.
'The Avengers Initiative'
"Avengers?" Mason read. He hummed in response. "Catchy name for a boyband." She looked through the files of all the ‘Avengers’ that Fury is recruiting.
“Last night at 0100 hours, someone took a powerful energy source, called The Tesseract, from one of S.H.I.E.L.D’s research facilities.”
"Who took it?" Mason looked up for a moment before looking back down at Dr. Banner's file.
"His name is Loki." He spoke. "He’s from space." Mason paused and looked up from the file.
"Space? You can't be serious."
"Afraid I am."
"And I thought I was weird." Mason mumbled under her breathe but Fury still heard it.
"Perez, I need you on this.” Mason closed the file and tossed it to the side.
"I'm in."
"Good. I'll send you the location of where to be. Tomorrow. 10am." He said and with that he left. Mason leaned back against the counter and sighed.
