It wasn't supposed to end like this. Peter should have been on a field trip, having fun with Ned and preparing a route for his afternoon patrol.Peter shouldn't be standing on an alien world, he shouldn't be watching the people around him turn to dust, Mr Stark shouldn't have a stab wound, and Peter himself, well, he definitely shouldn't be slowly dying, his entire existence ripping apart like the others around him. Dying hurt, Mr Stark's look of horror hurt even worse."I'm sorry." It was empty, it was no consolation, but Peter chose to come here, he involved himself, and he couldn't die letting Mr Stark think it was his fault.If there's something else Peter also shouldn't be doing, it's waking up in an entirely different universe, alive and whole and more than he remembered and more than he ever should have been.

So, to start off, this is a preface to mention some things about the fic, the real first chapter can be expected sometime this week, with a minimum of 5,000 words, and a chapter every week from then on.

So, this idea came around when I first read Dark Matter, as I'm sure is the case for a lot of people who write "Peter Parker in Gotham," stories, and while I did enjoy some parts of Dark Matter and other similar fics, I also had a lot of parts which I didn't enjoy, mainly about the characterisation of Peter.

This isn't going to be an angst fic, there will be moments where Peter is sad, but they won't be his entire personality, he's not going to mope around for 15 chapters.

Now, onto some changes I've made to Peter specifically, if you don't like the things I'm adding or changing, that's fine, you don't have to read any of the story at all once I start putting out the chapters.

So, first one, I've changed his age a bit, I'm not sure how old he is in infinity war, but for the story's sake he's going to be 14, and he was bitten when he was 11-12.

Second change is his physical appearance, I'm not using any of the live action actors for his appearance, I was going to, but I have a storyline that will be quite important, and I had to change his appearance a bit, mostly in his colouring, and I know a lot of people won't like that, so, yeah, you really don't need to read the fic once it comes out if you don't like it.

I don't want to say much else, or I'll end up spoiling some things, so, thank you for reading, I look forward to putting my story out there, and I hope it is enjoyed by any who end up finding it.
