Summary
The Queens apartment complex experiences a gas leak which could have major consequences on all the inhabitants. One of those of course being Peter Parker. Will Tony get to him in time or will he be too late?
Note
Kind of a short but sweet one :)

"Hey kid, lab night tonight?" - Tony 6:56pm

"Hi Mr. Stark. I've been kinda tired since I got home. I'm probably gonna go to sleep early tonight." - Peter 6:58pm

"No injuries?" - Tony 6:58pm

"No injuries :)" - Peter 6:59pm

Tony looked at his phone in disbelief and suspicion. Peter? Going to bed early? Unheard of.

Nevertheless, Tony pushes down his dejected feelings. He pauses in the doorway of the lab. It's been an extremely long time since Tony worked in the lab without Peter and it felt completely wrong to do it now.

"Lock up, FRI"

Tony makes his way up to the Living room. He slumps down on the couch and plays one of Peter's favorite TV shows in the background as he scrolls through his endless emails on his StarkPad.

A couple hours pass and FRIDAY randomly pipes up, "Boss, there is a reported Carbon monoxide leak at the Parker's residence. Emergency services has been called but they will not arrive there for another 15-20 minutes."

Before FRIDAY could even finish talking, Tony was suited up and out the door.

"Is May there?" Tony asks, his voice shaky.

"Negative, Boss. May Parker is currently serving the Midnight shift at the Queens hospital."

"Call Peter"

Tony's anxiety grows as the sound of the phone ringing plays loudly in his ears as he flies over the city.

"No answer, Boss."

"Call again. Keep calling, damn it. Call until he answers." He demands.

Tony's phone calls Peter's three more times before Tony hears Peter's weak, tired voice.

"Hello?"

Tony's never experienced the immense relief he felt in that exact moment of hearing that boy's voice, ever.

"Peter, Thank God, Listen, you need to get out of your apartment now. It is not safe in there. I'm five minutes away," Tony instructs immediately.

"...hmm? M'st'r St'rk? W's goin' on?" Peter slurs sleepily.

"Peter, honey, listen to me. Get out of the house."

Tony hears Peter tiredly sigh and the sound of the ruffling of his blankets.

" 'm so sleepy.. c'n I do it lat'r?" Peter whines.

"I know you're tired, Pete. I know. I know I know. I wish I could take it all away for you right now. But I need you to be brave and I need you to be strong for me. Go outside. Please, Bambino."

Peter groans.

" 'm tryin'... I c'nt move.. m'arms are too heavy.."

Tony breathes a sigh of relief when he sees Peter's apartment building.

"Okay, Petey. I'm here. Iron Man's here. Everything's going to be okay now."

Silence.

"Peter?"

Tony curses at the sound of the cold silence. He wastes no time rushing up the stairs of the apartment, not even bothering to wait for the elevator. He passed by several residents of the apartment vacating, but he doesn't pay them any mind.

"Air Filtering in your helmet is now being activated," FRIDAY announces.

Three floors later and Tony reaches Peter's. He practically runs to Peter's door and fumbles with the key before unlocking the door and pushing it open. He rushes to Peter's bedroom and finds him laying on his bed, eyes closed, wearing an uncomfortable expression. One Tony would pay to wipe off his face permanently.

"Peter!"

Peter's eyes flutter open at the sound of the familiar comforting voice. Tony wastes no time sitting Peter up, ignoring Peter's grunts and whines of complaint. Tony takes his own helmet off and places it on Peter's head so he could breathe easier. Peter grunts, confused by the heavy weight on his head, his head slumps forward but Tony lifts it up gently before standing Peter up on his feet, letting him lean on Tony for support. Peter's head flops on Tony's shoulder as Tony helps him stumble out of the apartment.

Tony watches in relief as two firetrucks followed by an ambulance pull into the apartment's parking lot.

"mm no Mister... Mister...dad.. we gotta.. um... gotta get May and Ben."

Tony's heart stutters at the obvious signs on confusion in the boy.

"May's at work, Bubba." Tony explains, ignoring the latter person.

Peter doesn't get a chance to respond before he's leaning over and throwing up. Tony grimaces in pity but rubs Peter's back.

"I know, buddy, I know... we need to get you hooked up to some oxygen, huh?"

Almost as if on cue, Peter's knees give out. Tony quickly scoops the boy up and flies him to the tower.

"sleep n'w?" Peter whispers softly.

"Not yet, il mio bellissimo figlio..almost. I promise."

Peter whines.

"Shh, I know.. I know," Tony murmurs.

They soon arrive at the Tower. Tony rushes Peter to the Medbay as fast as he could.

No less than ten minutes later, Peter was dead asleep on one of the medical cots, an oxygen mask on him, Tony sitting beside him, his fingers tangling through Peter's curls. The doctors were long gone by now and Peter was instructed to spend the night in the Medbay. Peter wasn't happy but his protests were quickly died down when Tony kissed his forehead and offered to stay with him for the night. Peter tried to tell him it wasn't necessary but where else would he rather be, than beside his son?
