Miles ran from the scene as fast as he can.
He cant believe it. His Uncle’s gone. The only person that supports him is gone.
His lungs burned, his legs ached and his mind screamed at him over and over. Aaron’s gone. Gone. And its your fault.
By the time he stumbled into Aunt May’s house, he could barely breathe as tears threatened to spill.
He saw the others there the moment he came in. Peter, Gwen, Peni, Noir, Ham and Aunt May.
His breathing came in quick, eneven gasps.
“Miles?” Gwen asked, her face laced with concern. “did something happen? whats wrong?” Miles opened his mouth. He had to tell them what happened.
He swallowed hard, forcing air into his lungs. “My-“ His voice cracked. It was getting hard to breathe.
Gwen knew he was about to have a panic attack as she recognized the signs. She saw how his hands trembled, and his rapid, shallow breathing.
She was the first one to step forward as the others watched carefully. “Hey, Miles, its okay. Take your time.” Gwen said as she placed a hand on his shoulder.
“my uncle,” he said, his voice shaky. “a..aaron..he..he was the prowler.” “He chased me. He had me. He couldve-“ His breath hitched, shutting his eyes. “But he didint.”
The others frowned.
“He didint. he stopped. But Kingpin, He-”
Miles let out a shaky breath as the tears now fell freely across his face.
Miles didint need to say anything as the others already knew what happened from the moment he said it. They all went through similar things after all.
“Oh, Miles,” Gwen said, pulling him into a hug. Gwen didn’t expect Miles to hug back tighter.
Miles buried his face on Gwens chest since Gwen was still a little taller than him.
Gwen didint say anything as she just let miles sob in her arms. Later on, the others joined in, turning it into a group hug.
“We love you, miles.” gwen mumbled, “remember, you’re not alone. We got you.”
With everything thats been happening, hes lucky to have them. Having them by his side, especially Gwen, is way more than enough.
