Somewhere Nowhere
Savontis, Moon orbiting Fredrika
Johnny sat up, rubbing his head. What happened...? Where was he...? Where was Sue? Reed? Ben?
He rubs his hands on his face, trying to think.
They launched, had the all clear, launching in a shuttle, an expedition mission. Reed pulled strings to even get Johnny permitted to join.
They were gonna check out the remains of some ship that had started orbiting the earth after it was destroyed...
Then some sort of weird power blasted across the universe, they sensed it on their radar, started from somewhere close to like, he thinks Reed said Mercury...?
But he was breathing air right now... Sunshine baring down on him, it felt moderate at worst.
He felt singed grass underneath him, weird...
He felt it everywhere, under his hand, his feet, his legs, his thighs, his... Ass-BARE ASS-
WHY IS HE NAKED!?
Johnny gets up, shouting in panic. "AH!! Ah!! OH NO!"
He puts his hands over his... Immodest self, before looking at his surroundings. He was in some sort of yellow forest. Even the grass was dry and yellow. The trees had a pale brown wood, squarish and gnarled, strange... The leaves grew thinly, being spade-ish in shape.
And there's a giant pink banded planet in the sky. What.
He stares up at it, stunned.
He looks around, and sees debris scattered around him. Did the ship crash...?
Did it get launched across the fucking universe? What the fuck!!!
Johnny tries not to panic, pacing back and forth. His skin was warmly tanned, orange-ish, almost. Thankfully there were no tan lines, he wasn't a coward, after all.
His slightly dark blonde hair was down to his shoulders, his hair tie was missing, obviously, and he sighed as he paced more and more.
His blue eyes were contemplative, as he looked back up at that weird planet.
He wasn't on earth, no way.
He should find Reed, Sue, Ben. Any of them.
They would know what he was supposed to do here... None of them were college dropouts living with their sister. Trying to start bands and get into wrestling. Starting bar fights that stain permanent records... They actually knew stuff.
Johnny beat himself up mentally.
Reed pulled all those strings to let him join S.H.I.E.L.D. and do this mission...
Sue let him stay with her after he lost everything 'cuz he had a nervous breakdown over feeling dumb, and abandoned college two years ago...
Ben had been so welcoming even though they'd just met...
And now Johnny was naked on some alien planet, with no clue if they were even alive.
What the hell was he supposed to do?
Probably look for the others. However, he did NOT need them seeing him so. Exposed.
He sighs, looking around. Was there anything he could actually do about that?
He wonders if there's animals... Cavemen made like, animal skin clothes.
Johnny imagines killing and skinning an animal.
Now he's naked, AND threw up, so he smells bad. And still has no clue where he's at.
Reset. Reset.
Johnny tries to think. They got hit by the thing, everything went white, then red, then black. Then he woke up here. And he was naked.
He had no protection from the elements, he was alone on a planet he knew nothing about, and he was also not the smartest of the four-man-crew.
He briefly wonders if the others are even alive, and immediately shudders, shaking the thought away. They are alive, they HAVE to be.
He doesn't know what he'd do if they weren't.
He needs to find help.
. . .
"SUUUUE! REEEEEED! BEEEEEEN!" Johnny called, making his way through the dry forest.
He sighs, he had been at this for hours.
"SUUUUSAAAAN!" He shoots, his voice at this point scratchy and dry.
He kept walking in a straight line, thankfully athletic enough to rely on his physical abilities, making his way up bluffs, and over hurdles like walls of stone.
He kept making his way, and froze, staring ahead. Smoke. Smoke Smoke SMOKE.
SMOKE!!!
And where there's smoke, there's fire, and where there's fire, there's people!!
He sees it over the trees and shrubbery, little hills of stone blocking his view even further. Hopefully, it was Reed, or Sue, or Ben, or just, anyone who might help.
He goes running, his feet have cuts on them from stone and twigs. His legs are sore. His hands are dried and cracked from dust.
He runs, and runs, and runs.
He runs as fast as he can, and his feet almost feel hot from the rush.
He doesn't think about that though, as he slows down, seeing the smoke is just ahead, and rounding one last little wall of stone.
He pauses. It looks like some sort of blue metal grill...?
In front of a gigantic jet... Looking... Think. It's orange and blue, but this looks like the backside. The wings splat at the ends, splitting into parts, he has no words to describe it.
There's a cargo bay of some sort open on it... And he can hear... Classic rock??
He stares from the grill, towards the cargo bay, and looks down at his dirty, bruised, slightly bloody feet. His sore, dirt-caked hands. He looks at his disheveled self, as best he can, and sighs.
He looks around, nothing be really trusts to cover himself. So he walks over, hands over his... Manliness... And takes a breath.
"U-Um... Hey! Anyone home?" Johnny calls out.
"AH-FUCK, HUH?" He hears a slightly scratchy voice, with a slight southern accent, cursing as they drop something from further in the ship.
A rather regular looking man runs down the stairs into the cargo bay, wearing a red leather jacket over a white T-shirt, with dark grey cargo pants below that, and brown work boots. He has messy orangey brown hair, and a bear and light stache.
He pauses, and looks at Johnny. Who looks back at him. He glanced down.
Johnny turns away quickly, walking off to the side "OHHHHKAY I don't suppose you have a shower and maybe some spare clothes or something?? And are you human?" He ducked around the corner, leaning over to look at the guy from where he ISN'T on display.
"Oh-Uh, yes, I am. And yes I do, uh." The guy seems incredibly stunned and confused.
He walks further into the ship, turning his music off. "Wh-What the hell... What is another human doing HERE!?"
"So I take it that it ISN'T normal to see another human in... Wherever this is." Johnny half chuckles to himself, glad this wasn't just weird for him, at least.
"Definitely not. I haven't seen another human like... Ever. Since I was a kid." Mystery man says.
He sees the guy is getting some spare clothes from some drawers, and setting them on a counter, it looks like.
"This isn't the first time someone I've never met has shown up naked out of nowhere though. And asked for a shower." The guy says, narrowing his eyes in thought. "Third time actually."
"Huh..." Johnny frowns, imagining that.
"So I'm hoping that means you don't mind helping out...?" Johnny asks with a weak shrug.
"Yep, I don't mind at all." The guy says with a smile in Johnny's direction. "After all, people gotta have stuff if I'm gonna wanna steal it."
Johnny pauses. "What?"
"I mean, I usually only steal from jerks anyways, but like, stealing from people who are clearly outta it, that'd be cruel, go against the code. Probably. I'd have to double check." The guys says, seemingly thinking about something else.
"...Huh." Johnny narrows his eyes, suddenly trusting this guy a lot less.
"I dunno, I left the Ravagers, technically, but like, I already had warrants out for me, so I kinda just kept doing some of what they did, and now I'm just working on trying to start my intergalactic charming rogue thing." He says with a wink and a smile.
Johnny pretends that wasn't kinda cute, and didn't convince him to trust him a little more.
"Whatever man, you got a spare shower or no?" He asks, slightly impatient.
"Yep! Upstairs, first door on the left. I'm gonna go in my room a sec to give you privacy on the way." He says, heading off.
Johnny appreciatively sighs, walking in and grabbing the clothes, before heading up to the bathroom.
. . .
Johnny walked out of the bathroom like an hour later. He was wearing some green sweatpants, and a grey T-shirt, with some spare yellow slippers.
Johnny looks around, and realizes he smells MEAT being grilled.
He immediately starts to rush down, and looks over, seeing the mystery guy is cooking what looks like hot dogs on the grill, but they're more brown.
"Heyo. Feelin' better?" The guy looks over at Johnny, a sincerity to his tone that Johnny can't help but feel comfortable with.
"Uh... Yeah, actually." Johnny says, a little bashful.
"I'm Peter, by the way. Peter Quill, but I go by Star-Lord~" He dramatically puts a hand on his chest.
"Oh, um. I'm Johnny Storm." He rubs the back of his head. "Nice t' meet you, Peter."
"If I'm being honest, I was on earth, then I got on a ship with my sister, her boyfriend, and his friend, and we kind of got hit with a weird space phenomenon, and it like, blasted me here I think?" Johnny just, rambles. "I have no clue what happened, where they are, or where I am, and I just don't know what to do if I'm bein' real."
Peter stops what he's doing, and rubs his chin. "Well... I can help you look, at least for a little while."
"You'd do that?" Johnny asks, a little surprised.
"Sure! If y'don't mind me keeping you around. I always appreciate company. Especially cute company." Peter says with a daring wink, and Johnny suddenly realizes he was being flirted with now.
"Bwuh."
"Huh?"
"Uh."
"Too forward?"
"Never been hit on by a dude."
"Not interested?"
"Little bit interested."
This would be an interesting adventure.
