“Miss! Miss wake up please! Are you ok? Can you talk?”
“SIR BILLIAM HELP! I don’t think she’s breathing she won't talk or anything!”
“WHAT? WHAT DO YOU MEAN? GET OUT THE WAY”
“Get up. Stop being stupid, I told you to get up... she's not responding. WHAT ARE YOU STANDING THERE FOR GO GET A DOCTOR”
“I'm sorry! I'll go!”
“Liaria what have you done...”
It kept playing over and over. All night that was all she could think about, Liaria hated the fact that the memory was just engraved in her head.
The night of her 18th birthday should've been nice and mostly it was, apart from the horrible thoughts.
She felt so guilty, Billiam seemed to have forgiven her, but he always would.
He was so nice when it came to things like that... Most of the time.
Well really, he was nice when it came to her.
Her head was pounding from what she drank last night as well as the lack of sleep, but to be fair how could she sleep with the constant madness in her head.
Her hair was let down but desperately needed to be brushed.
she must've not taken her hair out properly last night, she only did the bare minimum and changed without even taking off her makeup.
Last night she had just felt so tired.
She didn’t have much to do today but she assumed that Wilbur would come to talk to her.
After being so blunt about what she felt, Liaria had left him in the garden by himself and went to stay with Billiam for the rest of the evening.
Which of course made her feel incredibly guilty, but she didn’t want to talk about it any longer.
Usually if she was standing next to anyone else Wilbur would've dragged her away and spoke to her in private but when she was with Billiam it was a no go.
Liaria knew this all too well.
Liaria could hear loud footsteps coming towards her door and then a firm knock on her door
It was very loud, although that could've just been the hangover.
She lifted herself up from her bed and sat up
‘Who is it?’ she asked as she rubbed her eyes trying her best to be awake
‘Who else would knock on your door this early?’ A monotone voiced asked through the door
Her eyes widened
Was he annoyed?
Why was he here so... early
She rushed to the door to open it to see a pair of red threatening eyes staring down at her
His hair was below his waist and wasn’t in its usual neat plait, instead it was loose
Liaria had fond memories of doing his hair, he liked it when she did it.
He looked like he hadn't changed at all as well, she looked him up and down to see he was still wearing the same dress shirt and trousers from the night before.
‘Oh. Please, come in’ she said opening the door wider for him to walk through
And so, he did, and then he sat on a chair next to her bed which didn’t really look right... it looked a little too small for him.
Liaria hesitantly closed the door and then sat down and her bed, fidgeting with the edge of her dress
‘Um, is there anything you need brother?’ she asked cautiously
He looked at her as if she asked a stupid question
‘Did Wilbur hurt you’ He asked her
What?
She stared at him for a few seconds before answering
He probably saw her walk away from him
She didn’t want Billiam to be annoyed with him, she wanted to spend as much time as possible with Wilbur before she got married.
As far as she could tell her married life would probably be depressing and would most likely not allow her to see her friends.
Or that was what she had heard
‘No, he didn’t. Infact I'm pretty sure he wanted to go out for tea today’ she lied a little, but it wasn’t too much of a lie since he probably would
She would say anything if it meant he wouldn’t get angry.
It was how she was raised
He observed her body language carefully
Liaria wasn’t good at hiding her feelings.
At least when it came to her brother, she definitely wasn’t.
‘Right. I don’t know why you spend so much time with him though, he gossips a lot’ He complained and then stared at her waiting for her to respond
She sighed.
Obviously, she didn’t want to upset Billiam, but Wilbur really was a good friend of hers even though Billiam wouldn’t say something if it didn’t matter.
Liaria was torn
‘I do wish you would try and be more kind towards my friends brother’ Liaria said gently
He tutted
‘I am kind towards the ones that are right for you’ He commented
God why did this have to be so hard?
Liaria wished this would be simpler
She wished that Wilbur would forget what she said last night
She wished that Billiam would be nicer
She wished that she wouldn’t have to get... married.
‘I guess you're ri-’ Liaria began to accept defeat until she was interrupted
A knock on her door
‘Miss Liaria. Theseus Craft and William Soot would like to see you. I can tell them to wait if you'd like’ The maid said through the door
Billiam gave her a blank stare as if to say that she had to make a choice
She couldn’t say no.
She never said no when it was them
But she also never said no to him either.
And she didn’t really want to talk to Billiam anymore as it scared her when he was so forward and direct
Before hesitating a whole lot, she sighed and then answered
‘Tell him to wait for me in the private balcony I will be there soon’ Liaria told her
‘Of course, Miss’ she responded and then hurried off quickly
Billiam got off of her chair and walked to the door
‘ill be seeing you later then. Be ready for dinner at 6’ he said icily
She nodded nervously
‘I will be’
‘I hate those stupid maids!’ Liaria complained
‘YES, THEY ARE STUPID’ Theseus added on quite loudly
Wilbur rested his head on his hand
‘You aren't meant to encourage her Tommy. Try and be a good influence... never mind, I forgot who I was speaking to. Continue’ Wilbur tried at calming them down but failed
The weather was heating up and it was a nice day to have a catch up with her friends, she didn’t know why she didn’t see them sooner.
The balcony was as private as possible a place since Billiam didn’t like her to be completely alone with her friends even though she had no clue as to why.
‘And I hate being stuck in this stupid house’ She continued as she fanned herself
‘YEAH. FREEDOM FOR THE PEOPLE’ tommy shouted
‘What? Tommy, I think you're confused’ Wilbur mocked him
‘I'm not confused, I am a smart, strong, big man’ Tommy corrected him, his voice was still quite loud although it was just the usual by now
Wilbur gave him a look
‘Is that why you were in bed at 8 when it was Lia’s birthday party? Do big men sleep at 8 now?’ he laughed at how angry tommy’s expression was
‘WILBUR SOOT YOU IDIOT. I actually couldn’t go to Liaria’s birthday party cause of Philza Minecraft. He’s been a bit weird in the head recently’ Tommy continued to talk about how Phil was getting to old to think properly and other odd things
Liaria couldn’t help but burst out laughing whenever tommy was like this, which was most of the time.
Wilbur just shook his head at his younger brother... even though he would never actually call tommy his younger brother.
‘Are we at that part of the day where you insult wil? because i'm definitely excited for it’ Liaria asked
‘YES. I don’t like him’ Tommy stated bluntly
‘Why do I bother with small children Lia?’
She laughed even harder
‘No clue wil’
Later on, Tommy had decided to leave and get back home since he had a “busy schedule”
She wasn't looking forward to talking to him alone at all.
He always felt like it was his job to sort out her problems and she didn't like it one bit
Liaria didn't need someone hovering over her all the time, she was her own person.
Even with all of this wilbur still never listened and worried way over the point where it was normal.
‘So..? Are we going to talk about last night?’ He asked hesitantly
She shrugged
‘I was worried and drunk wil. Nothing I said mattered’ she told him as if he was absolutely delusional
He gave her a look
‘what were you worried about?’
'When you turned 18, were you scared?' she asked
he looked away guiltily
'that's not fair Liaria' he told her in a bitter manner
'why not Wilbur?' she said the words icily as if the conversation meant nothing
'Because i didn't change drastically whenever my brother was around' He muttered
she rolled her eyes
'I do not. You have always had this problem with Billiam and i never understood it'
he laughed with a hint of arrogance in his voice
the argument had now properly started
'i don't have a problem with him. he stares at me like i'm killing someone when im even remotely near you' He corrected her
'REALLY? you're going to resort to talking shit about him just because you don't like him?' She screamed
the moment she said the words she should've regretted them but she didn't
she had always stood by billiam, he was her brother.
how dare wilbur think this was going to be any different
'look Lia i didn't want to fight. It's just... when he's not around you're fine. you're sarcastic and funny, and then when he's around you become so quiet, you're a different person. Don't you see it?' he asked her weakly
she crossed her arms
'You were worried when you were 18 because of Kristen's illness and what she would think if you left, but you had to leave'
he stared at her for a few seconds
most likely he was shocked that she remembered
Liaria knew that wilbur liked people remembering small things about him because it showed that the other person was listening
she always remembered everything about wilbur.
he was a great friend to her... apart from now.
'i tried my best.' He tried to convince her
'right' she said bluntly
'i did. i just didn't know how unhappy she was when i was gone'
'you knew and ignored it' She told him ruthlessly
she thought she saw tears
why was she trying so hard to hurt him?
why was she so horrible?
straight away she regretted it now.
she went too far.. it didnt matter now.
'How could you say that..'
'just get out"
