Chapter 7

Green Goblin flew through the city, laughing maniacally as he waited for his target to arrive. The delay of washing his eyes clean of pepper spray had been taken care of, and he was back to his usual antics.

“The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout!” he sang mockingly. “Down came the goblin, and washed the girlfriend out!”

“NORMAN!” a shot came from below. Green Goblin looked down jist in time for Spider-Man’s fist to collide with his face. Norman rubbed his jaw, noting that Spider-Man had never hit this hard before. He finally stopped holding back. Good.

“What’s wrong Spidey?” The Goblin laughed. “There’s no hurry. It’s not like you’ve got a girl to save anymore!”

“SHUT UP!” Peter yelled, thwipping a web onto Nomran’s chest and kicking him through the air. The Glider spun for a moment before Osborn regained control.

“Not in the mood for quips anymore?” Goblin chuckled. “I guess you really did love her.”

“You won’t be laughing when I’m done with you,” Peter snarled, dangling off Goblin’s glider on a web. Peter yanked himself upwards onto the back of the glider, grabbed Goblin by the ankle, and pulled his foot out from under him. Norman completely lost his balance, his glider crashing onto a nearby rooftop. The two rolled to a stop on the same rooftop, coincidentally the Daily Bugle building. As the two fell, Norman released a special pumpkin bomb that burst into smoke, spreading into Peter’s lungs and sending him into a coughing fit.

“A little serum I cooked up myself,” The Goblin smiled. "Your spider-senses will be dulled for the next five minutes: more than enough time to close the book on our rivalry!”

“Fine,” Peter snarled. “Then let's face each other as men. Not Spider-Man and the Green Goblin…”

He pulled his mask off, letting it fall to the ground.

“But as Parker and Osborn.”

Green Goblin smiled as he pulled off his mask.

“Fair enough.”

The two charged straight at each other.
