Chapter 1
Peter was fucked. He has his first ever shift at Joe’s cafe and it’s in 11 minutes.
So he rushed to get dressed and brushed his teeth and ran out the door just barely hearing his aunt May calling his name making him stop in his tracks just outside the door “you need to eat and put some shoes on” she chuckled when Peter looked down at his feet that only had socks on. “Sorry aunt May but I have my first day at the cafe in 10 minutes and I really don’t want to mess it up by being late” he explained as he was putting his shoes on.
“I can drive you while you eat something” May supplied in a tone that was clear that she was not gonna take no as an answer which was a huge relief for Peter. “Okay” he answered as she handed him oatmeal and two slices of toast in a ziplock bag which he accepted gratefully.
When they arrived he thanked May and agreed to have her move some more of his stuff into his dorm and he’d do the rest once he got off when the cafe closed.
When he came through the doors “hey sorry i’m late, my alarm must be broken he chuckled awkwardly. “It’s fine, you’re actually right on time” Peter sighed in relief as he went to put his apron on and went to learn how to do the basics.
Since there were no customers Joe went to tea Peter how to make espresso drinks.
At 8 is when they go their first customer and Peter was surprised to see Harry Osborn who is the son of Norman Osborn and the supposed heir of oscorp, but Peter couldn’t let it show that he knew who he was and make him uncomfortable.

It was 8 AM on a sunday morning when Harry Osborn came into his usual spot for breakfast and coffee when he saw an awkward barista who he has never seen before, he had brown shaggy hair that wouldn’t look good on anyone but Harry thought it looked quite charming on the boy he couldn’t stop from staring until the boy looked at Harry, he could feel his heart stop as he couldn’t fill his lungs with air.
“Hi welcome to Joe’s” he said as he walked up to the cash register, Harry just then realized he was still at the door blushing, he went up to the counter to order his usual order which consisted of an egg and cheese on an everything bagel with a plain coffee. When he played he went to his usual table in the back of the spot to get his laptop out to pass the time researching anything that came to mind.

As Peter got his sandwich ready he couldn’t help but find Harry charming but Peter knew Harry was ‘straight’ so Peter shoved his longtime celebrity crush down and went to give Harry his sandwich and back behind the counter.

After awhile the same boy who took his order gave him the food “here’s your sandwich” the boy said setting down the plate and gave him a shy smile that made Harry want to get to know the other boy, but he remembered that he worked here he just smiled back “thanks” he said as the barista turned around to get back to his job.
Harry had yet to pick a major for college which is technically starting tomorrow, so he’s just gonna enjoy his first semester figuring out what he wanted despite his father demanding he follow in his footsteps, but the thing is his father isn’t aware of Harry’s choice. The same father that made him appear as straight to everyone including Harry himself despite having crushes on other boys as a young child but growing up and being told who his father wanted him to be he had to push his queerness down to the point of being convinced he was straight up until this very moment when he allowed himself to be just Harry and not Harry Osborn which was both relieving but terrifying so he forced himself to believe he had no curiosity for the boy who worked here.
