It had been at least a few days since Bruce woke up in a bed, and five days since they - Thor, Valkyrie, Loki, himself, and the rest of the Asgardians and gladiators - escaped before Asgard had been destroyed. He didn't know what he expected when he woke up, but it certainly wasn't Loki, Valkyrie and Thor having a supposedly serious conversation.
From what Bruce could hear, they were trying to figure out what to do about the food rations. He didn't know if they noticed him waking up or not so he sat up, drawing their attention to him.
“Ah, Bruce. You're awake!” He smiled at Valkyrie and gave a wave back to Thor and a nod in Loki's direction. He's not completely sure that Loki wouldn't try to kill him, but if he had been in serious danger, Hulk would have already come out to play.
After that thought, Bruce realizes he probably spent too much time around Tony before being Hulk for two years, because that was exactly what the man would have called it.
Bruce had zoned out for a while, jumping in here and there to give a suggestion. It didn't help that every time he zoned back in enough to give said suggestion, it seemed like they were having a completely different conversation then the last time. Okay, so maybe he was being a bit dramatic. But considering the words they were using half of the time weren't ones he was used to, being from Earth and all, it was hard to follow at times.
It was a few hours later when things calmed down. They were all sitting around the table, nothing that needed to be done or talked about. That's how this topic of conversation came up.
“What should we do?” Thor asked.
Bruce didn't know what to answer with as he didn't know much about what they could do on this ship. Valkyrie had an idea, however. “Oh! Let's do something scary!”
He wasn't confident in that thought. He knew the Hulk wouldn't hurt anyone if he did take the driver's seat, but still.
Loki spoke up, his voice soft but filled with terror. “We could go to bed early and be alone with our thoughts.”
Thor, clearly confused states, “She said something scar-.” before being interrupted by Valkyrie, grimacing.
“Man, I don't know. That sounds too scary for me.”
When Thor went to respond, Bruce interjected. “Understandable. The mind can be a terrifying place, especially when alone with oneself.”
Thor stared at him with concern while Valkyrie and Loki shared a look between the two of them. Unbeknownst to him, the two were planning on recruiting him to cause more controlled chaos and concern Thor.
Bruce wouldn't exactly say yes to the opportunity, but he would say no to it either.
